Chapter 6 Part 6

"It's already the fourth month of the 18th Reich. We're running out of time,"Gerald said, stopping his sword movement.

"Has there been any news from Master?"asked Gerald again.

"Not yet,"Asher replied quickly.

"What about Jenny?"asked Gerald, who was now sitting next to Asher.

"I'm here!"Jennie appeared from the top of the tree Asher was leaning against.

"There's been no movement lately. He has been playing cleanly, without any emotions, but he is still bad,"Jennie reported to her two colleagues.

"After the concubine, it seems you have to kill her first,"sneered Asher, who was also furious to hear Jennie's story.

"But since her movements toward us are limited, she often disturbs Miss Lyana. Poor little girl,"Jennie added in between her reports.

Asher laughed sarcastically.

"You can't even keep him out of the conversation. I suppose when Duchy Bearc is destroyed, you'll adopt him,"Asher scoffed.

"Hey! That's a great idea! She will be my cute little sister!"Jenny exclaimed excitedly. In fact, Asher's idea was perfect for him.

"Stop dreaming, chances are he will have the same fate as the others,"Gerald replied sharply.

Gerald, who had finished practicing. Leave the sword in the straw. Then sit with them.

"He has the same,"Gerald said as he lay down on the grass.

"Then he'd probably be crushed too,"Gerald added.

Jenny sighed. "You guys are really mean."

"Who will be destroyed?" The little boy's voice surprised the three people who were busy talking. Lyana came into the slave area with a basket of groceries. She put on Her innocent face, even though she already knew a lot.

"N-nothing, miss. But... ha? MISS?! What happened to your forehead? What's wrong with you? Did you hurt yourself during training?" Jennie panicked when she saw the scratches on Liana's new face.

"You change the subject,"Lyana said flatly. Then she poured food like fruit, white bread and milk into a bottle in front of Gerald and Asher, "Eat!" she ordered in a cold voice. Then she left.

Seeing this, Jennie felt bad about leaving her friend and catching up with Liana, who had left first. But a hint from Gerald's eyes ordered him to follow Liana.

"Miss, wait!"yelled Jenny.

"Lyana is different,"whispered Asher, who was already chewing on the plain bread Lyana had given him.

"You eat it?"asked Gerald, a little panicked.

"No poison,"Asher went on to drink the milk from the bottle. He looks so relaxed and charming.

"Are you sure?"

"If there's poison in it, I'm dead,"Asher said casually.

"You lunatic! It could have been a dose of poison, like the letter said."

Asher gasped. He thought for a moment. But then he resumed his eating activities,""A child like Lyana wouldn't do that."

"He's a member of the Bearc family, who knows what he's like?"said Gerald cynically.

Asher chuckled,"You're too cruel for a child, Your Highness."

I often think about how to live in this world.

Is it right what I have done?

Do I really need to be an antagonist who will die young?

Is it right that I want to live more than nineteen years?

This world gives me health, not a weak heart. I also have a rare strength. Should I waste all that by becoming the enemy of the main character who will die soon?

In the past, I lived in the middle of a family that never cared. I want to live in a happy marriage, have children, and have a partner I can rely on and a place to share. I want to be happy in this life. Exactly what I have always hoped for.

"Mother also said that I should be happy. My soft words were accompanied by the activity of picking roses in the mansion garden.

"Miss, look at these daisies!"Jenny exclaimed, distracting me.

Beautiful and fresh daisies. I received the flower,"Jennie, let's make a beautiful flower crown,"I said, pulling Jennie's little finger with my little hand.

"Yes, Miss,"Jennie rubbed my head and sat down on the grass. I sat with him as well, Jennie taught her how to do it carefully and patiently, Jennie was always the best after mom.

"Jennie, your gift is almost ready,"i said, concentrating on helping Jennie make a flower crown.

"Oh yeah?"Jennie's green eyes twinkled, distracting her for a moment from making flower crowns. "But, Miss must continue to rest, I can still wait for the prize at any time,"he added.

Jennie reminded me of my hectic schedule since being 'accepted' as a Bearc. I looked down. The gifts for Jennie and Gerald are late due to assignments in Magic and Manners.

Ah, speaking of Gerald. Suddenly I didn't want to be his enemy like in the story. I want to be an ordinary girl in this world, a happy one. But if I was close to Gerald, it could end differently. And fate will change. No one knows what will happen when fate changes, maybe the ending will not suit Gerald.

The end will be - eh! Wait a minute! Gerald kills Lyana in the story because she is a dangerous witch with dark magic that can destroy the world.

I'm not doing that right now. So if I don't get into trouble with Gerald, if I don't become antagonistic towards him, chances are that everything will be fine, right? However, being close to Gerald might cause his meeting with Clathria to fail. Maybe he won't fall in love with Clathria because he fell in love with me, ah! But being close to Gerald doesn't guarantee that he'll fall in love with me, like in other time travel novels!

Like Jennie and Gerald, who were always together, but Gerald didn't love her. Oh, I only found out about Gerald and Jennie after Mother died. Jennie told me that Gerald was like a brother to her.

"Finished,"Jennie put the crown on my head, and I also gave Jennie the results of the crown.

"Ah, my crown is ugly,"i complained with a sad face.

Jenny smiled. She gently pulled my cheek.

"This is good, miss. I like it,"Jennie held the crown with a very happy face.

"Jennie, come back!"i said out of a bad feeling. It is nothing. But it is because I felt that a stalker was watching us from somewhere. And I think Jenny noticed it too.

I arrived at the slave living quarters. The food I dropped is gone. Did they eat it? In that arrogant and haughty way? Eating it up? Seriously. Ah, suddenly I feel guilty, remembering the incident earlier.

"Why do you want to come here, Miss?"asks Jenny curiously.

"I feel like I'm missing something. Turns out it was just a silly thought. Well, let's go to the room and arrange these flowers," I replied with an awkward feeling in my heart. Huh, Lyana, you've become a bad person now.

****

In this rather spacious room. I immediately lay down on the bed. While Jennie went to get a vase for the flower.

My eyes were drawn to a stuffed rabbit on the bed. A piece of paper hanging from the rabbit's neck made me curious as to who had placed this unusual object there.

It's too suspicious. Nobody in this house thinks of me. There's never been a prize. Then why did I get the prize this year? What does it all mean? Is it because I can already do magic that they keep trying to take advantage of me?

I put the thing back. And examine it with a colorless magic stone to see if there is any magic in it.

I waited long enough, and the color of the stone didn't change. Colorless stones remain clear. There is no reaction to magic.
