Chapter 5 Beach

"Good morning Luma!."

I hear Thaís voice excitedly bidding me good morning,I was with my face buried in the pillow and with the blanket over my head,it hurt a lot,it was the hangover and every time I had it I forgot how much I hated losing control like that,I knew I shouldn't drink more than one glass,since I wasn't used to such things,only yesterday I drank almost 3 and the effect is always quick and chaotic.

"Good morning Thaís." - I say seriously with my hand on my head.

"You have a horrible hangover,am I right?"

"I am and I imagine you ruined something good yesterday,am I right?"

"Yes." - He smiles,but I remain serious. "You almost slept with a married man."

"You are very exaggerated ... I already said that nothing would happen, apart from a little fun, as I was having before I arrived. But on a different subject, do you have any pain relief medicine?"

"Sure, I'll get it for you."

She leaves the room and a few shelves later she appears with a glass of water and a pill in both hands.I take it quickly and go back to bed.It felt like my spirit was far away from my body,but I acted normal,this was one of the crazy effects of drinking,or was it just me that this happened.

"Luma, we have to go down."

"Why, I don't want to leave here." - I whimper and look at her.

"Let's have coffee and then go to the beach." - I make a bored face and then pout. "Let's just go Luma."

"If I say no, will you respect me?" - She smiles sagely. "Of course not..."

"That's right." - She says laughing happy that I know her too well.

"Ok, let's go."

We showered (one after the other) ,got ready and went downstairs,had coffee with her parents and then put on our bathing clothes and something on top,brushed our teeth and packed our beach bag,left the house with her parents as they were going to take us to the place.

When we arrived we rented some chairs and umbrellas,her parents went somewhere else and left us to our own devices.

We spent the sunscreen, we were sunbathing, I saw Thais staring at a handsome guy, he smiled from time to time for her, I saw her bite her lips and smile sideways.

"How boring you are, it's not like that you liked it and stayed, you have to seduce, flirt, make him desire you, only after all that you stay with the person."

"It doesn't work that way with me..."

"Got it. I'm going to take a shower, are you going to stay here?"

"Yes, I'm going to take a shower, I want to get some sun since I hardly ever go out."

"Okay."

She walked away from me,I saw her eyes meet the boy's and he followed her slowly,I only saw her from afar bathing unceremoniously and then chatting with the same boy. I stopped paying attention to them and went to get my much desired tan.

After long minutes I realized that she was taking her time,so I decided to look for her with my vision,but someone decides to interrupt me.

"Hi princess." - He was a brunette guy,with honey-colored eyes and a jovial face,he had no beard,there was only a thin blond-colored mustache on his face,his hair was medium brown and amazingly enough he had freckles on his cheeks. He was very handsome,I admit,but I was in no mood for romance today.

"Hi."

"Everything okay?"

"Yes." - I said without taking my view of the sea.

"Looking for someone?"

"Yes."

"Your boyfriend?

"A friend..."

"That blonde?"

"Yes, do you know her?" - Now I look at his face.

"She left with my colleague, they are no longer here on the beach, they must have gone somewhere more private, if you know what I mean." - He speaks the last words with double meaning.

"So you were spying on me?

"Spying on me, let's put it this way."

"Got it."

I looked at nothing and there was the beautiful blue sea,only my gaze met without my wanting with that of a boy,it seemed that I knew him,he looked a little familiar,he was wearing a plain shorts,his hair was low and wet, his eyes were shining in the sunlight,his smile was charming and his gaze penetrated mine and made me lose my breath for seconds,I noticed that he smiled at me and his friends looked in my direction,I blushed and looked at the boy next to me,who was staring at me attentively.

"Is everything ok?" - He asks without understanding my sudden reaction.

"Yes, what is your name again?"

"Roberto, but you can call me Beto or Ro. And what's your name?"

"Luma, Luma Prado, pleasure." - I hold out my hand and then we shake hands.

"The pleasure is all mine." - I smile.

"Would you mind getting me a coconut water, please?"

"Of course not."

"No problem." - I took my money and handed it to him.

"No need, I'll pay.

"I insist.

"It's okay, I'll pay."

The same boy ran off looking for a stall that would sell my order,I looked forward again and the same boy was staring at me,now trying to read me,know my thoughts,I looked at him admiring his beauty and trying to remember where I knew him from.

"Here you are." - Says Roberto extending the coconut to me.

"Thank you." - I smile friendly.

"You're welcome princess,well,I was thinking of us staying." - He says this as I pull the water through the straw.

"So,I'm not one to stay with people I barely know,could be a psychopath."

"You can tell by my face that I'm not that.

"That's where you're wrong, looks and face don't mean anything.

"Does that mean you'd rather get to know me better?

"Since you insist." - He smiles.

"You're good, you can be...you want to give me your number?"

"Give me yours and I'll call."

"I've fallen so far for that, I'd rather you give it to me. " - He says firmly.

"Okay, ...." - My cell phone rings. "Wait a minute."

Call:

"Hello?" - It was an unknown number.

"Luma, it's me, Thaís."

"Where are you crazy, I was worried." - She left her cell phone with me when she went to the sea.

"I was with that beautiful cat, shall we go home now?

"Did you do what you wanted?"

"Of course." - She laughs on the other end of the line. "I'll wait for you near the snack bar, near where we were."

"Okay, I'm coming."

Connection:

"Look, I have to run, my friend is waiting for me." - I put our things away.

"But what about your number?

"Some other time."

"Then write down mine.

"Just talk."

"Noted."

After I put the cell phone away,I looked to see if the boy was still there,but I didn't find him,then I said goodbye to Roberto and left almost running because Thais hated waiting too long,but making me wait didn't matter much.

I met her at the appointed place,we called her parents,waited for them to arrive and went back to her house,it was only at night that I went back to my house.
