Chapter 7 Into The Blood Claws Pack

Right after Diana was freed from the awarding ceremony of the Tribute Ceremony, she heard the voices of her mother and father from her right side. In between them, there was a horde of spectators from the Tribute Ceremony. She could have squeezed herself to meet them halfway, instead, Diana took this opportunity to walk away from them-it was as if she did not hear them in the first place.

The heavy downpour of rain began, soaking her black shirt and white shorts. Yet her muddy shoes did not falter, for her strides were predetermined already.

'As expected, like what happened in my last life, the killing spree was not a big deal in a Tribute Ceremony. In fact, it is quite normal. For this generation who enjoyed peace more than the turbulent times, it is quite a big deal for the younger folks. But for the older ones? No rule has been breached.' Diana thought.

A warm yet abrupt hug pulled Diana from her trance. "!!!"

"Diana! Oh, goddess! Diana Ritchell!" cried the elder woman who was hugging Diana by the arm. "Thank you! Thank you so much for seeking justice for my girls."

Diana bit back her grin. In a reluctant voice, she said while pulling herself away from Tiffany's aunt. "I only did it because I cannot forgive her for what she did to those girls. Having the title as the winner is... is the least of my concern."

The sobbing woman shook her head. She caressed Diana's cheek. "Killing that bitch is the best thing you could do in that situation. You deserved the win after defeating that evil woman, Diana."

Diana nodded slowly.

"Now go home and bathe in warm water." Tiffany's mother gave Diana an umbrella. "Take it."

Smiling shyly, Diana turned around with the umbrella in her hand. By her third step, she looked behind and said. "Don't worry. I am sure Tiffany is in the loving arms of the Moon Goddess now."

She did not wait for the woman's answer as she walked away. Opening her umbrella, she hid from the rain.

"As expected," muttered Diana.

'Amber's scent on the corpses proved that she was the one behind the deaths of those girls. What about me? Well... letting her kill them in my stead saved me the trouble of risking my life plus it helped me freshen my name. Now, I am not the omega who is easily bullied despite being a beta's daughter, no. Right now, I am the woman who sought justice for the girls killed by Amber,' Diana wickedly thought.

She stopped walking amid the heavy rain.

At the border of the Crescent Pack, she stood right in front of a dingy door that was an inch away from breaking apart from its hinges. Diana immediately erased all traces of Amber in her mind, replaced by the person who would play a big role in her revenge while she was in another pack.

'If the traitor is from the higher-ups then I need to have an eye and ear inside the top hierarchy.'

Slowly tilting the umbrella, showing her gleaming eyes, Diana called. "I know you know I am here. Come out, come out."

Silence answered Diana.

"Former strategist of the previous alpha, won't you listen to my tale? It is about the wolf who was shunned after the betrayal of his family and after losing his family."

A low growl answered her. It was an animalistic growl devoid of humanity. One could even mistake it as a growl from a rogue.

The grin on her face deepened. She continued, "What if I say, your child is still alive? Will you grant me a request?"

"YOU WILL HAVE TO CALL ME regularly, alright?" Lorraine could not let go of Diana's hand. Her voice was raspy and her eyes were teary, yet she was stopping herself from sobbing in front of the Blood Claws Pack delegation.

Beta Mason gently pulled his mate from their daughter. Though his eyes held melancholy, he was still able to crack a joke. "Lorraine, you've been asking that question for the fourth time now. It is time to let go of our daughter. She belongs to the Blood Claws Pack now."

There was a thorn in his throat no matter how he convinced himself. He shifted his eyes to his daughter and ruffled her hair. The gentleness in his gaze deepened. "Listen to your mother or she will nag me every day. Have some mercy on this old man, will you?"

'Dad, Mum, I will save you this lifetime. Even if it means a thorny path for me, I promise to celebrate many holidays with you. We may be separated now, but always remember that my heart is connected to the both of you.' Diana thought as she engulfed her parents in a warm embrace.

"Let's go," said a deep sexy voice behind Diana.

Nodding her head, she steeled herself as she pushed herself away from the comfort of her parent's arms.

One more time, she stared at her mother and father, engraving their tear-stricken faces in her heart, imprinting their love for her in her soul. Without a word, she let go and turned around.

As she walked past the stoic-looking alpha and beta of the Blood Claws Pack, she entered the passenger seat of the rover waiting for her. Her luggage was already settled long before her. With her action, the two men followed her in the rover.

There was a silence that Diana did not mind. Her gaze remained fixated outside the window.

Dylan's beta, Seymor, cleared his throat as soon as he settled on the shotgun seat he had taken-which was supposed to be hers by logic. "Don't you want to say more goodbyes to your friends?"

Shaking her head, she said in her usual calm sweet voice. "No. But thank you." She glanced at the blonde-haired beta of the Blood Claws Pack.

His concern-filled countenance shifted right before Diana. His sweet smile distorted into a psychotic grin as he leaned to the back of the car, inching his face in her direction. His crazed-filled emerald eyes pinned on her. "Oh yeah. You already killed your friends in the Tribute Ceremony. Oops, I forgot. Remind me not to forget your futile efforts to bag our alpha."

Seymor Tesan. How could Diana forget this name? He was known for being the brain of Blood Claws Pack, a genius strategist in his own right. As a luna in her previous life, she never missed a piece of news from the Werewolf Committee-even from the obituary. It was funny how someone like him could be so cynical yet he still ended up with a tragic death.

Cocking her head, Diana leaned on the leather seat. A knowing sweet smile was now painted on her face. "Have you ever wondered why geniuses like you are short-lived? If you don't, I suggest the Beta to ponder over to save your future rather than be a bully over an insignificant omega such as myself."

"Are you threatening me?" Beta Seymor growled. He was an inch away from pouncing toward her. His green eyes darkened, a telltale sign that his wolf was nearby.

On instinct, Diana showed her bare neck-an act of submission to the more dominant wolf. She heard her wolf whimpering at the back of her mind.

On instinct, Diana showed her bare neck-an act of submission to the more dominant wolf. She heard her wolf whimpering at the back of her mind. Since her face was on the other side, away from Seymor's deadly green eyes, she was able to hide the tugging of the corners of her lips.

"Seymor, you're noisy."

With Alpha Dylan's voice, Diana looked at the rear-view mirror-meeting his cold blue eyes for a good second before he discarded her gaze as if she was a waste of time.

Beta Seymor silently sat properly. Gone was his psychotic aura, replaced by a docile one. "Yes, Alpha."

Alpha Dylan scoffed before he continued. "Do not waste your time on someone insignificant as her."

"W-Won't she be my future L-Luna?"

"You had a luna. The seat beside me will be forever empty unless you bring back my mate."

Silence ensued inside the car.

A tear fell from Diana's left eye while her gaze shifted back to the scenery outside the car's window. This was caught by the two men from the rear-view mirror.

A pair of knuckles whitened, threatening to pull out the steering wheel. Jaws clenched and eyes turned bright blue, the temperature inside the room dropped.

Seymor wanted to bang his head dashboard after realizing how stupid he acted. Even though he hated the new luna candidate, he could have found a time when there was no Alpha Dylan involved.

Unbeknownst to the two men, Diana had already forgotten what Dylan Cain had said. What pained her was the fact that she had already crossed the borders of the Crescent Pack.

'Mum, Dad, this time, I promise you one thing-I will protect you.'
