Hmm... you might want me to tell you my age, although I don't see it appropriate that the only way to find out my age is by insulting me and making fun of me. In my twenty-nine years, I have learned to recognize the type of people who hurt you and provoke you through words, actions, betrayals, and those that kill.
"Yes, you're convinced of that. I think this place is not for you," I add. "Ponky, can you show the gentleman the way out while I make a call and inform the person in charge of what's happening in the club?" I smile after looking around and trying to conceal as much tension as possible so that the customers don't notice the tension between us.
By merely suggesting that I will talk to the boss, he will understand that I'm not playing around. And if he doesn't put himself in his place, I swear I will do it, but I will inform the boss first, as he invited him, and unfortunately, I can't override the authority of the great Lobreguez.
"Noah Davies," he extends his hand, "I apologize if I offended you." Take that, your dog! You're swallowing your pride, and who better than a girl to bring down your macho airs?
"The ungovernable lady, let's set aside false greetings," I speak curtly, and I can be sure that my words are seeping into his mind.
"Noah Davies is the richest and most powerful man in the world," Ponky whispers near my ear.
And... I don't give a shit if he owns the whole world. That doesn't mean, let alone guarantee, that he can be my owner or the owner of the club.
Mr. Davies, let the games begin!
+NOAH+
"What does that woman think she is? That Pekingese dog believes that with its barking, it will intimidate anyone who crosses its path. Ha, she's mistaken because I can be worse than her or anyone else who crosses my path.
'Barking dogs seldom bite.'
She's the type of woman who only makes a scene, not someone I should be afraid of. I don't know what Lobreguez has in mind to leave this whole business in the hands of this triviality. Just by looking at that small body, I can deduce that it's a Pekingese that no one should fear.
That conceited woman is provoking me, and I'm not one to stay silent. I'm the one who acts and goes to the extreme.
I see her with that air of grandeur, but I will bring her down, especially now that Lobreguez has sent me to work alongside that miniature of a woman, if you can even call her a woman.
Maybe she seduced him. Oh, maybe the very arrogant and self-interested woman ensnared him since she allows him to be involved in important business.
"Now that we're introduced, I think it's necessary that we talk privately because my friend has given me a couple of things you need to know." She'll be shocked when she finds out that I'm not just a visitor but her partner in the nightclub.
The only reason I'm here is to handle meetings with the mafia and bring in new clients to expand the business even further. The most ironic part is that I have to do it in the company of this trivial Pekingese. Ugh...
I don't know if I can bear her. I don't know if I have the courage to endure her character and that yapping of a little barking dog. Ah... Why can't she be a submissive woman, one who bows down to her master?"
I am Noah, the right hand of the shadow; the man who sought me with the intention and purpose of being his eyes, his ears, and even being omniscient. And now that I am here, I don't plan on leaving without first getting rid of this Pekinese, as she should have never been in charge of this important and dangerous business.
I have a lot of money, a lot of power, and I can also have anyone at my feet, but it seems that I cannot intimidate this woman, let alone control her the way I want. But everything has its price! And she must have a weakness, and I will find it with just a snap of my fingers.
The first thing I did as soon as I set foot in the club was to delight in everything around me, and I also wanted to indulge myself since I see that there is good merchandise here, not of low quality. Find women; refined women whom you can come across and not think that they make a living out of this, women from high society; a society they build with the money this brings them.
Well, the desire to enjoy myself vanished when one of the shadow's assistants called me, even ordering me to leave what I was doing, as it was not the time or the place. It's all because it's my first day in the partnership.
"Come with me," she rolls her eyes and then turns around.
The conceited one turns around, and I won't deny that she has a nice behind. Hmmm... nice curves. But her character and stature? No way! I passed! That short dress might drive any man crazy, but only foolish men, as they don't know what kind of woman she is.
Before taking a step forward and following the whiny Pekinese, I look around and am amazed to see that everything is going well. I never imagined that Lobreguez had a hidden business with such an excellent facade.
"Let's go, Mr. Davies," he addresses me respectfully, "let's not keep her waiting."
Ha, not keeping her waiting... She has to wait for me as long as necessary.
"Ponky, I thought you were in charge of everything," I speak as I follow Ponky's steps.
Ponky is one of those helpful men, but he also has a traitorous look on his face.
"No, Mrs. Clarke is in charge of everything her eyes see," I can see he respects the Pekingese. "She's the unruly lady."
Ah, so she's Clarke.
Entering one of the safest and least populated hallways, I see more than five men guarding, but no customers. After the meeting I'll have with that brat, I'll find a way to explore every corner of this place.
"Here it is, sir," he points to the entrance door, which I assume is the office.
He opens the door and steps aside to let me in. Stepping into the office, I notice it has a rather rustic look.
"Take a seat," he says curtly, and I feel like this will be a war, not an alliance or partnership.
Lobreguez has made a mistake.
"So, you're in charge of the nightclub and the other businesses," I begin, and I doubt it will end.
Her annoyance is evident, and it brings me satisfaction.
"Welcome to the nightclub, Mr. Davies," a fake smile spreads across her face. "Well..." she clears her throat after comfortably sitting down.
