Chapter 5 Part 5

So far, Airin has only been stirring the drink she ordered. Airin has been silent and seems to be thinking now. Yoonki patiently waited for Airin to open the conversation between them. Yoonki continued to pay attention to Airin while occasionally sipping his coffee.

After feeling like he had waited long enough, Yoonki cleared his throat softly and made Airin look up at Yoonki.

"You, not thirsty?" asked Yoonki slowly.

"Ah, thirsty," answered Airin clumsily and then drank the juice she ordered.

In a hurry, Airin choked and was coughing now. Yoonki took a deep breath and then patted Airin's back.

"Just slowly! I won't ask for it, Airin_ssi," said Yoonki.

Airin looked back at Yoonki. The girl then took a deep breath and pulled a few sheets of tissue to clean her wet lips. Yoonki himself then stopped patting Airin's back and then looked at the girl closely.

"Now, can we talk?" asked Yoonki then.

Airin didn't answer immediately, and the girl stared closely at Yoonki. Then she quickly pulled Yoonki.

"Yoonki_ssi, am I obliged to give birth to this baby? Can't you just let me abort it? I... I still want to achieve my dream," said Airin, who didn't want to get pregnant.

Yoonki didn't immediately respond to Airin's question and stared at the girl in front of him with a straight face. It was so flat that Airin didn't know what Yoonki was.

"Yoonki_ssi, please let me go! I will not ask for compensation money for this error. But let me abort this baby. I'm not ready to be a mother yet," Airin said again. Without knowing Yoonki's current condition, he couldn't choose the option Airin offered.

Airin didn't want to get pregnant when she heard that her child and Yoonki. Airin was so happy that she felt like she wanted to cry earlier. However, Airin was more afraid that her Uncle and Aunt would know. Airin will be killed by them, which means Airin will hurt the baby. Airin chose not to have an inner bond from the start because, in the end, she had to lose the baby later.

Yoonki, silent all this time, breathed and sipped his coffee slowly. Airin waited anxiously for an answer from the man who looked increasingly unhealthy in Airin's eyes.

"Okay, if that's what you want," Yoonki then.

Airin widened her eyes in disbelief at Yoonki's. Why is it so easy for Yoonki to agree to this request?

***

Airin was just about to get ready to go to the office after chatting a lot with Yoonki. Finally, they both agreed to abort the baby in Airin's womb. Of course, Airin doesn't know. Now Yoonki certainly can't hope to have another child. Because Yoonki himself has been sentenced to be infertile, the effects of the cancer treatment that Yoonki for several months.

Airin came out of her room and found her uncle already standing at the door, then quickly pulled Airin's hair roughly. Airin screamed and held the roots of her hair while continuing to walk following the direction her uncle was dragging her. Airin's scalp hurt so much, as if the skin would peel off now.

In one stroke, Uncle Airin threw Airin's body randomly until Airin was thrown back and hit the wall. Airin winced in pain and started crying. Uncle Airin himself then came back closer to his nephew and immediately slapped the girl hard. Airin staggered to the floor.

"Where's your rent?" said Uncle Airin in a high tone.

Airin stared intently at her uncle now; her eyes wouldn't stop shedding tears.

"So, sorry, Uncle, this month I can not give you rent. I have to pay for other important things," Airin stuttered because she felt pain and fear now.

"What are you saying? Can't pay the rent? No kidding!" said Uncle Airin, who again hit Airin unthinkingly without the slightest mercy for Airin. The girl could only cry and scream many times, asking her uncle to stop what he was doing at this time.

Airin half crawled into his room again. Airin was not crying anymore. However, his face was now bruised, and many wounds were bleeding. The poor orphan girl no longer has the strength to stand up. With difficulty, finally, Airin can get into his room again. Airin then lay down on the floor of her room just like that. For her, only this room is the safest place for him. Her uncle had gone somewhere, while her aunt had not returned from the sauna.

Airin took a deep breath and then gently held her stomach.

"What, is he okay? My body feels crushed," Airin whispered in a monologue.

Airin is worried about her womb now. Airin then reaches into her trouser pocket. Airin searched for her cell phone with a bit of difficulty. Airin then dialed a number that was almost impossible for Airin to call because they were far from saving each other's numbers.

"Hello," whispered Airin as if she had no energy.

"It's me, Airin," Airin said again, getting weaker.

"Eh, I know. I saved your number, Airin_ssi," answered Yoonki, who was cutting the stuffed bread and putting the piece of bread into his mouth.

Airin's voice chuckled, even though it was evident that the girl didn't have the energy to laugh. Yoonki frowned, feeling something was wrong with Airin.

"What happened to you, Airin_ssi? Everything is fine, right?" asked Yoonki, who smelled something terrible was happening to Airin.

"I, am fine, Yoonki_ssi. Can I ask your help just this once?" asked Airin again with a weaker voice.

"Eo, just say it!" said Yoonki quickly.

"Come to my house, Yoonki_ssi. I'm in pain," Airin said again in a breathless tone, unable to hold back the pain all over her body anymore.

Yoonki reflexively stood up, and his face tensed up when he heard Airin's voice, which sounded like someone was in pain now.

"Where is your house? Submit your location now! I'll be right there," he said Yoonki started to panic.

"Eo," Airin agreed briefly.

Both phones then cut off. Quickly Yoonki then ran out of the apartment just like that. Yoonki took little time to go straight to Airin's house.

"Luckily, the womb is fine," said Doctor Sujin after examining Airin.

When Yoonki arrived at Airin's house, the girl opened the door for Yoonki on all fours. Airin's battered condition and injuries made Yoonki surprised. Not thinking twice, Yoonki took Airin to the hospital without asking where Airin got the injuries.

Hearing Sujin's words didn't necessarily make Yoonki breathe easy. Yoonki held Sujin's hand quickly.

"How is this girl doing? Were his injuries so severe that she hasn't regained consciousness until now?" asked Yoonki then.

Sujin looked at Yoonki for a moment, and it was evident that Yoonki was worried about Airin now. A moment later, Sujin smiled faintly and patted Yoonki's shoulder softly.

"This is the effect of the sedative injection earlier. That's why Airin is still asleep now. Airin's condition was not well, and it seems this is not the first time Airin has received injuries like this. Look at these bruises," said Sujin, pointing to the bruises on Airin's hand.

"It's faded black. That's a sign it's been quite a while. It's already faintly brown, maybe over a month, and this one is new because it's still purplish blue," explained Sujin, pointing to the bruises on Airin's hand alternately.

Yoonki looked increasingly disbelieving at what he saw. Yoonki rubbed his face roughly and then looked at Airin.

"Then, who did this to him? Are the parents? But why?" asked Yoonki, wondering himself now.

Sujin took a deep breath and shook her head slowly.

"Here, it's your job to find out, Yoon. Don't let this affect Airin's pregnancy later. Of course, you don't forget that this is your only hope of having a child," Sujin reminded Yoonki.

Yoonki looked at Sujin when he heard his best friend's words. Yoonki glanced at Sujin, then smiled faintly.

"We have agreed to have an abortion on this baby, Sujin_a. Because this is all just a mistake, I can't possibly tie Airin to the baby in her stomach," Yoonki said quietly and now looked back at Airin, who still had her eyes closed.
