Chapter 5 Mate

POV: Autumn

"Where have you been!" my mom yelled at me.

"I went for a run," I say.

"We have about an hour to get you ready, when we should have had 3 hours to do this," mom sighed, as she pushed me into the bathroom and handed me my dress. "Put this on now then we will do your hair and makeup."

I quickly put on my dress that I picked out for this occasion, before mom gets to mad at me. I go back out to the room, and she pushes me down in a chair. While Brittany does my make-up mom does my hair. When everything is fished my mom put my hair in a waterfall French braid around one side with defined curls throughout. Brittany did my signature cat eyes thankfully, I have a light pink eye shadow with gold highlighter, a light pink blush, she did the cat eyes in purple to bring my emerald eyes out even more and she put on a dark red lipstick. Even though I really don't like Brittany she is an amazing makeup artist.

"Thank you, guys!" I say excitedly.

"You're welcome! Alright we have 10 minutes to get down to the ball room lets go!" Brittany says.

We all go out of my room and go to the ball room and catch up with my dad and Darren.

"You girls look gorgeous," my dad said while grabbing my mom and kissing her forehead. I don't say anything, I'm still a little pissed at my dad from earlier.

"Ladies and gentlemen, introducing the Royal Beta, Cory," an announcer states as cory walks down the stairs by himself. Cory comes over to me.

"Hey gorgeous," he winks. At that moment I smell something amazing like a mix of wood and raspberries. I look around frantically trying to see where this smell is coming from.

"Ladies and gentlemen, introducing The King Liam, and The Queen Cassidy," the announcer states. At that moment I look up to see the most gorgeous man I have ever seen. Our eyes meet.

"MATE. MATE. MATE. With a whore. Kill her," Athena growls in our head.

I start growling, cory grabs my hand and says, "Autumn what is it?"

"Mate with whore," Athena growls out claws elongating.

"Athena, calm down please let's go somewhere else to calm down," cory tries while grabbing my face in his hands. He picks me up and takes me down the hall.

"I want my mate," Athena growls.

"Athena lets calm down and talk about this first before you go kill her, please I don't want you getting the death penalty," he says frantically. Suddenly he gets pulled away from me.

"My mate, get away," the gorgeous man, Liam, wolf growls out. He throws cory to the wall. He grabs me and looks at me in my eyes they are swirling with silver and black.

"Mate," Athena growls out. Liam wolf pulls us closer we lean in putting Athena at rest allowing me to take control

"Get away from my mate!" a woman growls to me. I look at the women

"My mate," Athena growls out. Walking over to her grabbing her by the neck "He is my mate!"

She struggles to get my hand off her neck. We don't let her go just squeeze tighter. Someone grabs my hand around her throat.

"Athena, please let her go give autumn back control," its my dad. Athena shakes our head

"She wants our mate. I will kill her," Athena snarls.

"Listen we will straighten this out. Please let her go," cory says pleading. Athena listens to his pleading voice and puts her down. We get tackled to the ground by guards. They inject me with wolfbane I instantly fall and pass out.

My eyes flutter. Its dark. I try to move my hand and feel something heavy on it. They shackled me. They fucking shackled me. I heard muffled voices

"She is your mate you can't keep her down here," one says.

"She attacked the queen. She must," the other says.

"She is not the queen; you haven't marked her yet the whole point of this stupid ball was to find your mate. And you have!" the first one growls out.

"She is the queen even if so, the council already decided," he growls back, and I hear nothing else but a door close. I scream. I knew I shouldn't of came to this stupid thing. I find my mate and he already have one and now I'm chained probably in the dungeons. I finally get my eyes to open to see they have both my hands chained. I see a lot of stone, yupp I'm in the dungeons. I scream again. I can't feel Athena, wolfbane and silver which puts our bond nonexistent. I cry myself asleep.

"Get up!" someone yells at me. I ignore them. They yell it again I still ignored him. the door opens a growl sounds out.

"Leave us," he says. They door opens again while the guard walks out.

POV: Liam

"Get up," I growl using my alpha voice after the guard exits. She still just sits there. I growl. "I said get up." She still just sits there.

"I will not listen to you," she growls.

"I am your king you will listen to me," I growl back she looks at me. I freeze, her eyes are amazingly green with silver. Her hair is so red that it looks like fire.

"No. you are not my king you are my mate I am your equal, so I will not listen to you," she scoffs. This makes Kyros jump for joy learning that his mate is feisty. I sigh.

"what's your name?" I question. She just glares at me. I laugh.

"Okay you little minx," I say while unlocking the cell and stepping in she growls at me.

"Unless you are going to let me free, I suggest you get out of here. I don't want you near me," she snarls. Kyros whimpers in my mind hearing that his mate doesn't want us near her hurts.

"I can't unshackle you just yet," I say calmly. I step closer and grab her face to look at me and instantly sparks start shooting. Damn it I shouldn't have touched her bare skin. I should have had gloves on or something. She moans at the feeling of our touch. Kyros is trying to take control, but I push him back.

"If you don't want me then reject me," she sighs. I've been waiting all my life for my mate and now look. I have her in shackles in my dungeons and now she wants me to reject her. The rightful queen the one destined to rule beside me.

"I am not going to reject you. I just need some time to sort some things out. Once you get control of your wolf you can come out," I say to her while looking into her eyes.

"My wolf is not going to take lightly that you are with someone else. She will kill her. You are so post to be with me," she growls. I unshackle her. Put my hand on her face and just shake my head. I back up letting my hand drop from her face.

"Well then you can stay here for a while," I growl back. I go out of the cell, lock it, look at her one last time, and then go back to my part of the castle.
