Reborn And Remade: The Wolfless Bride's Revenge

Author: Mo Moqi
Genre: Werewolf
I was the "wolfless" Omega of the Stephenson Pack, treated like garbage for twenty years. When the wealthy Ramirez Pack offered an alliance, my adoptive family forced me to take my sister's place. I was to be the sacrificial bride for Calvin Ramirez, a terrifying Alpha King dying from a vicious curse. In my past life, I cried and begged them not to send me away. I blindly trusted my boyfriend, Pierce, who promised to save me. But I didn't know he was sleeping with my sister the whole time. Once they squeezed every drop of wealth from my forced marriage, they orchestrated my "accidental" death. As I lay dying in a pool of my own blood, I watched my sister and my boyfriend laughing over my corpse. They mocked me for being a pathetic, useless genetic dead end. Until the moment my heart stopped, I didn't understand why my absolute devotion only bought me a grave. Opening my eyes again, I was back on the morning I was supposed to be handed over to the Alpha King. This time, I calmly looked at my hypocritical family. "I'll do it, but I want a legally binding Pack Severance Agreement." "And all the alliance gifts from the Ramirez Pack belong to me." I watched their faces turn pale with sheer horror as my new power awakened. In this life, I choose to watch them burn.

Chapter 1

Cori Stanton POV:

The shrill scream of the alarm clock dragged me from a black, dreamless sleep. My eyes snapped open. The scent of mildew and despair filled my lungs. I was in the attic bedroom of the Stephenson manor.

I suddenly realized that I had gone back in time, back to when I was twenty-one, back to that fateful turning point when I was forced to become a substitute bride. And back to the day Pierce Thorne, the man I loved, stood by and watched it happen, even encouraged it. Today, I am to be handed over to Calvin Ramirez-the Alpha Wolf King of the Ramirez pack-to undergo a "Life Stabilization" ceremony. The white dress hanging behind the door is my sacrificial gown.

The door was shoved open without a knock. My "mother," Brenda Stephenson, swept in, her face a mask of pinched impatience. Trailing behind her like a pale shadow was my "sister," Celeste Huff. And just behind Celeste, leaning against the doorframe with a look of feigned concern, was Pierce Thorne.

"Cori, what are you still doing in your pajamas?" Brenda's voice was as sharp as broken glass. "The Ramirez delegation will be here in half an hour!"

Celeste's eyes were red-rimmed, her expression a perfect portrait of sorrow. She tugged on Brenda's sleeve, her voice sickly sweet. "Mama, don't be mad at sister... It's all my fault. If I weren't too weak to withstand the Alpha King's powerful energy, sister wouldn't have to go in my place."

Pierce stepped forward, placing a comforting hand on Celeste's shoulder, his gaze briefly meeting mine with a flicker of something I now recognized as smug satisfaction. "Yes, Cori," he said, his voice soft, almost regretful. "Celeste is truly too delicate for such a burden. It's a great sacrifice you're making for the Pack."

I look at Celeste. Her sky-blue eyes sparkle with deliberately manufactured innocence, but deep within them I see the gleam of triumph and greed. Beside her is Pierce, the man who once promised me forever, now her accomplice.

Memories of my past life come flooding back like a tide: the details I deliberately ignored, the suggestive glances and accidental touches between him and Celeste, are now all crystal clear. I can even recall hearing Celeste's coquettish laughter and Pierce's low reply from below the attic on the night before I was sent away; only now do I understand that behind that laughter and reply was evidence of their illicit coupling behind my back-a blatant betrayal. That innocent face and his comforting lies kept me blinded until the very end.

My older brother, Beryl Stephenson, strode in after them. He positioned himself protectively beside Celeste, his glare landing on me like a physical blow. "What tricks are you trying to pull now, Cori? It's an honor for you to take Celeste's place. Don't forget you're just a wolfless!"

A wolfless. An Omega born without an inner wolf, a genetic dead end. In our world, it was the lowest possible status, a mark of shame. That was the label they had used to grind me under their heel for twenty years.

"Enough chatter," Brenda snapped, waving a dismissive hand. "This is for the good of the Pack, Cori. The alliance gifts from the Ramirez Pack will solve our group's financial crisis. You have to do this."

I leaned back against the dresser, my spine straight. I simply met their eyes, and the corner of my mouth curved into a cold, unfamiliar smile.

My stillness threw them off. Beryl, recovering first, took my calm for defiance. "What is that look on your face? Do you want me to-"

"I'll do it," I said. My voice was quiet, but it cut through his anger like a razor.

A collective sigh of relief filled the room. Brenda's features softened, assuming I had surrendered. "Well then, hurry up. Don't keep-"

"But I have a condition," I said, cutting her off again.

Brenda's face hardened instantly. "You're in no position to make conditions."

Celeste gasped, her hand flying to her mouth in feigned shock, but her eyes narrowed with calculation.

I let my gaze drift over the three of them, my blood-bound tormentors. "I want a Pack Separation Agreement, witnessed by a lawyer, and legally binding."

The room fell into a dead silence. To sever ties with a Pack was to willingly become a Rogue, a wanderer with no protection, no status, no family.

Beryl stared at me as if I'd lost my mind. "Are you insane? Without the Pack, you're nothing!"

A dry laugh escaped my lips, a sound that made them all flinch. "I'm already nothing, aren't I? A wolfless, ready to be sacrificed."

Brenda's eyes were locked on me, her mind racing. I could see the gears turning. The Ramirez alliance and their money were far more important than the fate of one useless "wolfless."

I delivered the final blow. "The agreement must be signed before the ceremony. Otherwise, I won't take a single step out of this room. You can try and see if a corpse can complete the ritual."

Celeste said, to try her sweet, manipulative poison one more time. "Sister, how can you say that? We're a family-"

I shot her a look so cold it stopped the words in her throat. She took an involuntary half-step back. Beryl's contempt was fading, replaced by a wary confusion. He had never seen me like this.

My fingers, hidden in the pocket of my worn pajamas, pressed the screen of my old phone, stopping the recording. I needed proof of their coercion.

Brenda's chest rose and fell in a ragged rhythm. Finally, she ground out two words through clenched teeth. "Fine. I agree."

The color drained from Celeste's face. She hadn't expected this. She hadn't expected me to fight back, and she certainly hadn't expected Brenda to yield.

I added coolly, "And one more thing. All alliance gifts sent by the Ramirez Pack belong to me, personally. That will also be in the agreement."

Chapter 2

Cori Stanton POV:

Brenda's face contorted with rage. She pointed a trembling finger at me. "Cori! You've gone too far! Those gifts are for the Pack!"

"You're a Rogue-to-be!" Beryl roared. "You have no right to take anything from the Stephenson family!"

Pierce Thorne, who had been standing silently, now stepped forward, his voice a smooth, persuasive balm. "Cori, darling, think of the Pack. Think of all the good that money could do. Surely, you don't need it all for yourself?" He tried to catch my eye, a practiced look of gentle disappointment on his face.

I watched them, my heart beating a slow, steady rhythm. The clock was ticking. The Ramirez delegation was coming.

"First," I began, my tone conversational, ignoring Pierce completely, "they are not from the Stephenson family. They are from the Ramirez Pack, for me. Second, I am taking Celeste's place. This is my compensation. And third, you can refuse. Then you can explain to Alpha King Calvin Ramirez why his bride 'accidentally' died right before the ceremony."

At the mention of Calvin's name, Brenda's fury faltered. Antagonizing the notoriously volatile, dying Alpha King was a risk not even she was willing to take.

Celeste began to sob quietly. "Sister, how can you be so greedy... That money is to help the Pack..."

Pierce, seeing his soft approach fail, tried a different tactic. "Cori, you know how much the Pack relies on these funds. It's for our future, for everyone's well-being." His words were meant to shame me, to appeal to the 'old Cori' who would sacrifice everything for others.

I ignored both Celeste and Pierce, my eyes fixed on Brenda. She was the only one with any real power in this house.

The minutes stretched on. Then, from outside, came the sound of a car engine. The Ramirez delegation has already arrived.

Brenda's face went ashen. She had no choice. She bit out the words to Beryl, her voice strained. "Get Marcus. Now."

Beryl shot me a look of pure hatred but turned and hurried out of the room. Celeste's fake tears stopped, her expression one of disbelief.

Brenda sank into a nearby chair, looking as if her strings had been cut. Her eyes, full of venom, promised retribution. "You will regret this, Cori."

I thought to myself, the only thing I regret is not doing this in my last life.

The wait for the lawyer was silent and heavy. I could feel the hateful stares of Beryl and Celeste, but they were no more bothersome than flies on a wall.

Ten minutes later, Beryl returned with a man in a sharp suit and gold-rimmed glasses. Marcus Price, the Stephenson Pack's legal counsel.

Marcus looked surprised by the tense atmosphere but remained professional. "Mrs. Stephenson, Do you have any urgent matters??"

Brenda waved a tired hand toward me. "She wants a Pack Severance Agreement. Effective immediately."

Marcus's eyebrows shot up. He pushed his glasses up his nose, his gaze shifting to me. "Miss Stanton, are you certain? According to ancient werewolf law, once signed, you forfeit all protection of the Pack. Your blood-mark will be erased from the Pack totem. It is irreversible." He was explaining the rules, as was his duty.

"I'm certain," I said.

"The agreement will also state," Brenda added, her voice dripping with resentment, "that all alliance gifts from the Ramirez Pack are her personal property."

This time, Marcus was genuinely stunned. His mouth opened slightly as he looked from me to Brenda, as if to check her sanity. Brenda just closed her eyes, unwilling to speak further. He understood. It was an order.

He took a tablet and a portable printer from his briefcase and began to draft the document, his fingers flying across the screen. Beryl and Celeste stood by, their faces pale with fury and defeat.

A few minutes later, a sheet of what looked like parchment was printed. He handed it to me. I read every clause carefully. Satisfied, I looked up.

Marcus offered a special pen, its tip embedded with a shard of moonstone, to Brenda. "your handwritten signature, Mrs. Stephenson."

Her hand trembling, she took the pen and signed her name.

The pen was passed to me. I signed my name without hesitation.

Marcus signed as the witness.

The moment his signature was complete, I felt it. A physical sensation, like an invisible shackle around my soul snapping in two. A wave of lightness washed over me. I was free. The connection to the Stephenson Pack was gone forever.

I carefully folded the precious agreement and tucked it into an inner pocket.

Brenda struggled to her feet, her voice a low hiss. "Now, you can go complete your 'transaction.' Put on the dress and get out."

I ignored her venom and turned toward the door. Just outside, a calm, dignified older man in a black suit was waiting patiently. He was Winston Powell, an Elder of the Ramirez Pack.

I gave him a slight nod. "Mr. Winston. Thank you for waiting."

Winston returned the gesture with impeccable respect, his eyes flicking for a moment to the scene behind me, a flicker of understanding in his gaze.

Chapter 3

Cori Stanton POV:

Ignoring the venomous glare from Brenda behind me, I addressed Winston directly. "Mr. Winston, the ceremony can wait a moment. There are some logistics to handle first."

"As you wish, Miss Stanton," he replied, his politeness unwavering. He showed no trace of the disdain I was used to receiving for my "wolfless" status, a stark contrast to the Stephensons.

I pulled the still-warm severance agreement from my pocket and handed it to him, pointing specifically to the clause regarding the alliance gifts.

Winston read it carefully. A flicker of surprise crossed his features, but he masked it instantly, returning the document with a respectful bow of his head. "I understand, Miss Stanton. The Alpha's orders were to accommodate all your reasonable requests."

I nodded, then turned to face Brenda and Beryl, who had followed me into the hallway. I held up the agreement. "According to this legally binding contract, all gifts provided by the Ramirez Pack for this alliance are now my personal property."

Beryl, incandescent with rage, lunged for the document. Pierce, perhaps trying to prove his loyalty to the Stephensons or simply caught in the moment, made a move to intercept me, a desperate plea on his face. Before he could take a single step, two towering warriors who had been standing silently behind Winston moved, blocking his path without a single wasted motion. One of them, with a casual flick of his wrist, sent Pierce stumbling back against the wall, a yelp of surprise escaping him.

A wave of powerful Gamma-level energy washed off them, and Beryl, an Alpha himself, visibly paled and froze. Pierce, a minor Alpha's son, was utterly cowed, shrinking against the wall. In the werewolf world, rank was absolute, and these men outranked him in raw power.

I turned back to Winston and gave my first command as a free woman. "Mr. Winston, please have your men take all Ramirez Pack trucks and the gifts within them to a new address I will provide."

Brenda shrieked. "You can't! Those things have already been unloaded into our warehouse!"

I smiled. "Oh? That makes it even simpler. Mr. Winston, please have your men go to the Stephenson warehouse and retrieve all of my personal property. Reload it onto the trucks."

Pierce, recovering his breath, tried to appeal to me again. "Cori, please! Don't do this! The Pack needs those resources!" His voice was a desperate whine, a stark contrast to his earlier smooth demeanor.

I glanced at him, a cold, dismissive look in my eyes. "You're in no position to tell me what the Pack needs, Pierce. You never were."

Winston didn't hesitate. I felt a ripple of mental energy in the air as he issued a command through the mind-link. Though I couldn't hear the words as a wolfless, the intent was clear. "Rick, Leo, a new task. Go to the Stephenson's warehouse. Empty it. All alliance gifts are to be reloaded. Miss Stanton is our new principal."

Less than thirty seconds later, a dozen more uniformed Ramirez warriors emerged from various points around the manor, moving with the silent, disciplined efficiency of a special forces unit. They marched directly toward the warehouse.

Beryl tried to order the Stephenson guards to stop them, but his men wouldn't even meet the eyes of the Ramirez warriors, let alone challenge them.

Celeste collapsed into Brenda's arms, sobbing. "Mama, what are we going to do? The Pack's finances..."

Brenda was shaking, her gaze fixed on me as if she could kill me with sheer hatred. But she was powerless. This was a legal, hostile takeover, and she knew it.

I leaned against the wall, listening with satisfaction to the sounds of heavy crates being moved and the shocked gasps of the Stephenson servants. Every thud was a hammer blow to Brenda's and Beryl's pride.

I could feel the luck of this Pack draining away with every item removed. Among the gifts was a moonstone amulet, an heirloom from my mother that had protected this Pack for years. They had stolen it from me after her death. Now, I was taking it back.

"You'll pay for this! You ungrateful wolf!" Beryl screamed at me, his face purple with impotent fury.

"Pay for what?" I replied coolly. "I'm just collecting what's mine."

After twenty minutes, a warrior named Rick White reported back. "Mr. Winston, Miss Stanton. All items have been secured and loaded."

Winston turned to me. "The destination, Miss Stanton?"

I gave him the address of a high-security penthouse in the city center. This is the first safe house I secured for myself.

Winston nodded, relaying the new orders. I watched as a convoy of heavy trucks rolled down the long driveway and out the main gates, kicking up a cloud of victorious dust.

The Stephenson servants whispered and pointed from a distance.

Brenda stared at the empty driveway, then crumpled to the ground, letting out a guttural, animalistic wail of despair. Beryl's face was a mask of gray defeat. The Stephenson Pack's financial ruin was now sealed. Celeste's eyes were dry, filled with nothing but pure, unadulterated venom.

I adjusted the collar of my worn pajama top as if brushing off a piece of lint.

"Alright," I said to Winston. "We can go now. I imagine my 'fiancé' is getting impatient." I stressed the word "fiancé," a final, parting shot for the family I was leaving in ruins.

Winston opened the door to a black Rolls-Royce that had been waiting discreetly. As I was about to get in, I looked back one last time at the house that had been my prison for twenty years.

Beryl made one last, desperate lunge toward me, but he was restrained with contemptuous ease by the Ramirez guards, held like a struggling toddler.

I slid into the plush leather seat. The heavy door closed, shutting out the sound of their screams and curses forever.
