Chapter 5 The second date

She was been led by a man who looked to

be in his forties, and everyone started to sing the birthday song,

she seat on the single couch, a woman followed them hold a cake in

her hands and set it on the table, happy birthday Vicky was written

on it.

The blind fold was taken off, she was

crying tears of joy. It kind of took me down memory lane my little

sister, I felt emotional.

"Her you okay?" Louis asked with

concern in his voice.

"Am fine." I said but he wasn't

convinced.

He looked at me, for a second, "Okay."

he said again. She blow the candle and a around of applaud, after

that we went to the backyard, there was a big pool and we sat on the

pool side, "So you brought me to your girlfriend's birthday?" I

said looking at him.

"No! And why do you always think that

of me?" he said annoyedly, he just shook is head in frustration and

walked back inside, for some reason I felt bad, so I walked inside

after him to look for him and say sorry, I walked in looked, but

there was sign of him.

I asked one of the guys that I talked

to earlier, Where I could find him and they pointed me to the

kitchen, I walked to kitchen and there he was laughing with the

birthday girl, he saw me and gestured for me to go to him.

"Hey April, I want you to meet my

cousin, Vicky." he said holding a drink. I felt so stupid for what

I said, "Hi." I said holding out my hand, which she took.

"So your the girl that my cuz,

wouldn't stop talking about, it's nice to finally meet you." she

said with soft smile, I looked at Louis and he looked away shyly. I

couldn't help but chuckle. My phone and answered it, it was my

mother. "Excuse me, I have to take this quickly." I said as

walked to quite and private place to answer.

"Jennet." she said on the other

line.

"Mom."

"Honey, Where are you? I just got

home and your nowhere to be found." she said. "I am at a friend's

part." I said, oh God I hope it not what I think,.

"Another part! Jennet you should come

home right now or am gonna tell your father." she said,. "Okay!

I'll be on my way soon as I can." I said as I sighed. I walked back

to the kitchen and Louis was there with his cuz, chatting.

"Hey, is everything alright? who was

it?" Louis asked with concern. "Wrong number." I said looking

at my phone. "Have to leave." I said, I walked to Vicky and gave

her a kiss on the cheek. "Sorry can't stay." I said.

"Well can I drop you off?" Louis

offered.

"I'll take a cab, stay here and have

fun with your family, am sorry for...." I said in a soft voice, but

before I could finish his lips crushed on to mine, I felt something I

have never felt before, a warm feeling filled my all body, I just

shoved him off, but I have to admit I enjoyed it.

"What are you doing?!" I said

acting angry. "Am so sorry." he said.

"Whatever, I got to go." I said as

head for the exit. I Took a cab, straight to the home, I got there I

got inside and the were only on in the living room.

"Mom!" I Called as made my way to

the living, she was on the phone. So I just sat on the couch, she

turned and she looked at me with delight on her face, something

that had not in a while. " Your father called and he said that

Sophie is awake." Mom said happily. "Let's go." I said getting

my car keys, I drove us to the hospital.

"Doc can we see her now?" Dad asked

anxiously, "Of course, right this way." he said gesturing for to

follow him, he led us to the room.

We walked in, "Honey, your awake."

mom said tearfully.

"Mom." Sophie mumbled. Her skin

pale, her eyes white as snow, she could barely keep them open for

long. "You gonna be, okay." mom said assuredly.

I felt great just to see my little

sister awake, even if it was only for a brief time but it gave me

hope that she was gonna get better.

I stayed until 10:00pm, my parents

asked me to go home because I was leaving early in the morning, so I

did, cause I knew they wouldn't stop.

I went home, and I could hardly sleep.

I woke up the next morning, it was like I had a alarm in the head, I

took a long cold shower, put on some make-up, I checked my phone and

I found a text, it was from Louis.

"Morning love." it said, I caught

my myself smiling for no reason, why am I smiling? I throw my phone

into my back pocket without replying and ran downstairs.

There was no one at home it appeared, I

guess they never came home. I went to check in my brother's room, my

jaw dropped to what I saw, he was in bed with his girlfriend Ruth,

judging by the time she spent the night here. He woke up and saw me

standing at the door. "Don't you ever knock!" Jack said with a

frown. He came out minutes later, I was waiting in the kitchen with a

cup coffee in hand. "You let your girlfriend sleepover?" I asked

surprised. "She was troubled apparently something happened at her

home." Jack said. I just looked at him for a second, "Anyways am

off." I said as I headed for the exit door. I pass by the hospital

to say goodbye to them.

I reached the hospital, and walked

inside, I opened the door to hospital room, and I saw my mom sleeping

on the bed side, she slept here?, I sudden felt bitterness.

I slowly walked to were she slept,

"Mom." I said softly touching her lightly on the back. She

woke-up a little groggy, she looked to look at me.

"Honey, your leaving?" she asked

stretching her arms.

"Yeah, early start, I just wanted to

see you all before I leave." I said looking at her. "Where is

dad?" I asked looking around.

"He went to get us, coffee." she

said. I looked at Sophie, she was asleep, I walked to her and just

gave her a light kiss on the forehead, "get better." I said

whisperingly, she opened her eyes, "Hey." she murmured, I grabbed

her hand, "Hey." I said shrieking.

"Please, don't cry." she said in a

low voice. But I couldn't help it, mom was standing behind me already

crying. Dad came back with coffee, I said my goodbyes and left for

college.

I got there, tired and groggy. I

unpacked my bags, I fell on the bed which was already made by Sasha,

when I got there she was out with her boyfriend, so I just slept.

I woke up to a tap on my leg, "When

did you arrived? you should have told me beforehand, I would have

threw you a welcoming party." she said sitting on the bed.

"Don't worry about it, besides, I

didn't want to interrupt you guys." I said getting up. My phone

rang, I picked it and it was Louis.

"Hey beautiful." he said and I just

rolled my eyes, he sounded excited.

"Please don't call me that, whats

going on?" I asked, Sasha was listen on.

"I've a surprise for you, and I

promise you gonna love it, so when can I pick you up?" he said

excitedly. I didn't tell him that I left home.

"Um..., Am not really in town at the

moment." I said in a low voice I could barely hear myself.

"Come again." he said on the other

side.

"I had to leave, something come up

so....." I said. There was silence for a sec.

"It's fine, you know what? Do what

you have to." he said, the exited that was in his voice was

replaced with disappointment, and he hung-up on me before I could

even respond.

"Did he just hung up on you." Sasha

asked surprisedly.

"I believe he did." I said also

surprised, for some reason I felt terrible more than I was already

feeling. I couldn't help but wonder what surprise he had for me.

"C'mon don't stress about it."

Sasha said.

"We're going out tonight, so that you

can clear your head." she said looking at me.

"No I have to catch up." I said, I

didn't feel like going out, I just wanted to stay in my dorm.

Later in the day Sasha was getting

ready, somehow she managed to convince me to go with her, we dressed

up.

I put on a blue jean and a white shirt,

Sasha just put on black dress with a necklace that her sweeter heart

bought her.

We took her car, we drove to go pick up

her boyfriend Scott and just so that I didn't feel like a third

wheel, they asked Tony a friend of Scott to come with us.

He seat in the back with me and he was

giving me the look, his a cutie with brown hair to make any girl fall

for him, but I couldn't stop thinking about Louis. Scott drove us to

the cinema to see a movie a romantic movie, it was like we were out

on a double date.

Scott the car and we got out, Tony got

out before me walked to side and opened the door for me, what a

gentleman. Scott and Sasha were walking in front of us holding hands

and cuddling, Tony was looking at me like he wanted to say something,

Sasha asked him to come along cause she wanted him to comfort me.

"Those two are really in love."

Tony said looking at Scott and Sasha. "Yeah!" I responded, that

was all I could manage. "I wish, I could find someone who would

love me like that." he said not looking at me. I just stared at him

for sec, "Your cute, what girl would fall for you." I said and he

just chuckled. He turned to look at me, a smile appeared on his face.

"It's not easy to find true love, you know." he said, not taking

his eyes off me.

"You look troubled what's going on?"

he asked with concern. "Its nothing." I said. "C'mon Jenny, I

just told you what I was feeling, you can tell me." he said looking

at me.

"I am just thinking about my sister,

she's in the hospital suffering from a heart disease." I said

sadly. We Reached the movie theater, and we bought.
