Chapter 9 Worst than I expected

~~ XAVIER'S POV ~~

Seeing Carmela smile gave me immense happiness. she has the prettiest smile and I couldn't help but wonder why Zamiel hate her so much

I look at her beauty sleeping innocently with her head resting on my shoulder. I just wish I could help her out of the clutches of my brother or at least make her life easier but there's absolutely nothing I can do.

I saw her sleeping at the reception yesterday and for some reason, I felt heartbroken.

I went to cover her with a blanket but was stopped by Zamiel

" What the fuck are you trying to do? " He questioned with a cold emtionless voice which got me nervous

" What do you think I'm doing? She's cold "

" And so what?"

" Come on brother she's a human being," I said trying to reason with him

" AND she's my wife, no one tells me how I treat her or behave with her "

" come on... Why are you so heartless? What exactly did she ever do to you to deserve such treatment? " I asked getting annoyed

" Xavier this should be my first and final warning to you, never get involved in my issues unless you'll see the bad side of me," he said, giving off a very dark aura.

I got so annoyed and threw away the blanket.

Taking one more look at Carmela I saw Zamiel staring in my direction but he wasn't looking at me he was looking at Carmela with so much affection but in a blink of an eye, rage replaced the affect i vividly saw in his eyes.

And it was as if I was allusinating

The plane landed but Carmela was still asleep so I had no other choice but to wake this sleeping beauty beside me

" Carmela...Carmela wake up " I said patting her gentle on the cheek

" Hmm? "

" We've landed, " I said and she yawned stretching a bit

" Okay let's go " she stood up leading the way to the exit .

I followed suit but found Zamiel giving me death stares, Asher, on the other hand, didn't seem to care less as usual

" Xavier you and Asher have some work to complete at the company so I'll be taking my wife from here " He pulled Carmela towards him wrapping his arms around her waist as if marking his territory

Well i didn't care

" Okay," I said and left while Asher followed suit

~~CARMELA'S POV~~

I was greatly surprised at Zamiel's behavior when we stepped out of the plane but he didn't even alter a word after we entered the car.

My phone began ringing and after seeing the caller I felt my spirit jump out of my body

There was no way I would decline the call nor could I refuse to answer it.

So I answered either way

" Hello mum," I said trying to sound excited

" Carmela I want you here right this moment," Was all she said and ended the call

Mum not saying a thing or scolding me over the phone means only one thing for me

I just pray dad isn't as upset as her because if he is I'm surely going to see more of hell

" Mr dean can you please drop me at my parent's place," I asked praying he wouldn't refuse and his next action brought me relief

" Diver take us to Ken villa " was all he said and went back to his laptop

we arrived at the Ken villa and I was very nervous.

Actually I was scared to death to enter .

And from the faces of the servants I could tell mum had made their life a living hell in the past two days

" Carmela dear how are you doing ?" grandma hugged me and pecked me all over my face

" Grandma I'm fine,how about you? " I said with a smile

" Well your mum has been barking like a dog with rabies ever since she found out that you married Zamiel instead of Carlene just be careful " she whispered

I turned to look at mum who had a straight face and dad whose face I couldn't read

"I...Actually..Mum... Mum, Dad I'm here " I said and none of them said a thing.

Carlene on the other hand sat opposite them with her face facing the ground

Seems things were worst than I expected

" Mum please say something please " I pleaded starting to feel scared

" I should say something? What do you want me to say? should I congratulate both you and your sister for successfully deceiving everyone including Zamiel and making a joke of us? " Mum said in a cold emotionless tone and I just wished she could scream at me than speak so quietly cause it's starting to freak me out

" Carlene, I asked you if you truly wanted this marriage and you said yes and that you love him, then where's that love?, What happened to the love? I told you that you're too young to get married and you didn't know anything about marriage but you refused to listening saying you love him so why did Carmela marry him instead of you huh ? " Mum screamed at Carlene

" And you have always known you to be quiet and enduring but I didn't expect you to be such a fool.

Did you marry Zamiel instead of your sister? what do you expect him to think of us and also you accepted to marry him without informing your dad nor I like seriously you both take us for a fool " Mum screamed and I felt like crying, this is the very first-time mum has scolded me ever since I became a teenager. I didn't want to cry but my tears betrayed me, they were flowing like a waterfall

' you guys are betrayals ' I said to myself cursing my tears

" Carmela, this isn't the time to cry. I want you to speak up," Dad said and I could tell he was trying to be calm.

" I married zamiel because I love him "

' wait what, what a foolish excuse Carmela

I'm surely going to wash my tongue with acid after saying all this shit '

" What ?" Mum screamed

" Yes I am the one who loves Zamiel not her but I wasn't able to tell him about it when he approached me asking me to be his girlfriend so I asked Carlene to pretend to be me but when I heard he proposed to her I was really mad at her but she told me she didn't want to marry him and I can marry him "

I added a little flavor to the truth, I just hope mum and dad believed my stupid lie or else both I and Carlene are done for

" Here we go again " mum screamed

A/N: If you've read this book when I first published it then you'll notice some slight twists in it now.
