Chapter 10 Marriage

Samuel Ricardo is the husband of Mrs. Anna and father of Lexi. After receiving a call from his wife, he followed her to the villa. "What's wrong?" the man asked breaking the silence of the living room. He looked at everything in the room one by one. There were Lexi, Jessica, and Mrs. Anna. They were sitting quietly busy with their respective thoughts. Obviously Lexi couldn't doing something. He didn't like this kind of atmosphere.

"Look! Lexi doesn't want to take responsibility! Your son won't marry Jessica," Mrs. Anna told her husband even though she knew it was useless. Since Lexi's first wife, Anita died, he had never wanted to hear the advice from not only his mother, but also his father.

"What am I responsible for? I've spent a lot of money on my one night stand with that girl! After all, nowadays there are many girls out there who have that relationship freely," Lexi said relaxed without feeling the slightest guilt. He felt that he got entitled to what he did last night because he had spent a billion dollars for it.

"It's not like that Lexi! Who taught you? Mom and Dad don't want our future heir to Atmaja Group to be born of married by accident? And if you really don't want to marry Jessica, we will find a future husband for her!" Mrs. Anna said strictly. She read Jessica's biodata. Jessica is orphan and poor girl. Mrs. Anna didn't want Jessica to fall for the wrong man especially her son who had done bad things to the girl.

"Why are you just in silent, Lexi?" Mrs. Anna insisted him. "You should marry Jessica!" she crossed his arms in front of her chest, as a gesture of having decided that.

"Don't argue with me!" Mr. Samuel said casually every time his wife and son argued.

"Mommy will take Jessica home. Before you are ready to marry her and choose a dress for your wedding, Jessica will stay with me," Mrs. Anna said. "Please help Jessica to the car!" she motioned to the maid to lead Jessica out of the villa.

Jessica got up from her seat and walked to the car in the led by the maid. In the living room there was only Mr. Samuel, Mrs. Anna, and Lexi.

"You should marry her Lexi!" his mother insisted. His eyelids widened with interlaced eyebrows.

"No!" Lexi rejected. He never thought about getting married again. Not with anyone he trusted, He thought that if he had failed, you didn't want to fail again.

He was sure that his heart and feelings were only for Anita. His late wife.

"Then you will let Jessica! If Mom is her right now, Mom would choose suicide. She abandoned by his parents and now being abused by a fucking man," Mrs. Anna shook her head. "Dad, it is better to you to persuade Lexi to marry Jessica," she added.

"Dad will call Arsene to give Lexi some advice!" Samuel didn't want to take it. Arsene was the only one who could tame his son.

"Mom is going home now. And you, Lexi, don't go home. You can't see Jessica until you're ready to marry her!" Mrs. Anna said and immediately left her son and husband.

"Daddy, you better to go home. I just need Arsene. I don't need you, Dad," Lexi said.

"You should have tried to obey your Mom's wishes! She just wants a grandchild! Get married! If you don't want marry Jessica then you should immediately decide who you will marry. Anita is gone, Lexi. You're 30 years old now. You are not young anymore. Think about it!" Mr. Samuel said before moving from his seat.

"I have to go," Arsene said.

"Again?" his wife asked while squinting her eyes. Not only Sunday night, Arsene also had to go in the day.

"Mr. Samuel asked me to see Lexi, so I have to go now," Arsene said to his wife. It was still Sunday and he had to meet Lexi soon even though it was a day off.

"I think all companies have a day of. He's not a baby and you're not his daddy," Vania grumbled and felt annoyed.

"Honey, this is my job, if I don't go now! There's a big problem waiting for me!" Arsene changed his t-shirt and wore a suit quickly. He also tried to persuade his wife.

"Yes, my dear, I understand," Vania said kissing her husband's right cheek.

"I will hurry home anyway at the end of the month. I will ask for leave to have time with you and with our daughter," Arsene kissed his wife on the forehead. He also kissed his sleeping daughter on the cheek.

Arsene left off his house. He immediately walked to the garage. He was sitting behind the wheel of his car and leaving the house to the villa where Lexi was.

Arsene really felt sorry for Lexi. No one knows about his illness except him, even Lexi hid it from both parents. Not to mentioned the demands of his mother who wanted grandchildren.

If Mrs. Anna knew Lexi's situation, and Lexi was also willing to open up with both parents, it might be Mr. Samuel and Mrs. Anna wouldn't force Lexi to get married like this.

Arsene continued to drive the car at full speed, until he reached villa faster than usual.

This man got out of the car and walked quickly to meet Lexi who was waiting for him in the living room.

"Why are you already here?"Lexi said while he saw Arsene who suddenly walked closer. "Supposedly, you spent Sunday on your children and wife, not obeying my dad ordered for you to come here!"Lexi protests.

"This is my job. So, Mr. Lexi, according to Mrs. Anna and Mr. Samuel, let me not work on my day off!" Arsene replied annoyed.

"What did my mother tell you?" Lexi looked straight ahead and didn't even look at Arsene.

"Mrs. Anna is holding Jessica responsible because you raped her, and I think that's the best thing because you must to take responsible," Arsene said. He rolled his eyes, sometimes he couldn't understand Lexi's way of thinking.

"You said I raped her? No I didn't rape her. You know how much money I spent on the girl, a billion! I drop her off here and I think that's enough to pay for one night stand, so I slept with her!" Lexi talked obviously. "The women out there are lining up to sleep with me! And Jessica, she received a billion from me!" he spoke strictly.

"But Jessica is not that kind of woman, Sir. She's a good girl! Are you sure? Really, you just want to sleep one night with Jessica. Wasn't that the girl who cured your illness? Is this your chance to fulfill your parents' wishes, Sir? If she is not Jessica, who else can heal you? Are you sure you want to give up this chance? You know how many girls you meet and they couldn't heal your sadness," Arsene explained. For a long time, he was emotional talking to a greedy man likes Lexi.

"Have you gone crazy?" Lexi talked then shook his head at the Arsene's words.

"I think you're the crazy one, Sir. This is your chance! Many girls you've met and only Jessica can heal you. Are you sure you want to lose Jessica by not marrying her?" Arsenee talked resentfully. If Lexi wasn't the boss, the shoes he was wearing would have floated over his head.

"I don't want to get married without love!"Lexi denied.
