Chapter 5 Conflict

"Mother, I failed to avenge my daughter... I'm a failure as a mother." she muttered as tears flows from her eyes. Their ninth halo skill subsides as streams of shadows flickers and eight silhouettes appears from their backs.

"We pay respect to the Supreme Moon Pontiff and the Moon Priestess!" The eight silhouette gathers and cupped their fist to pay respect. On their chest was an eye-catching nine star golden badge. These eight people were the Eight Great Temple Elders of the Moon God Temple, and each one of them has the aura of a Titled Esper!

A Titled Esper!

A Titled Esper stand at the peak of mankind! They were the goal of every Esper, but countless them failed to do it in their lifetimes! But a total of eight of them appeared at the same time! One could clearly see the foundation the Moon God Temple has! Just looking at those eight peak experts, then just how fathomable does the Moon God Temple be?

But nevertheless, all of them dare not to be haughty in front of the two women in front of them and wore a respectful expression.

Yue Lin gathered herself up and wiped her tears from her cheeks. The Eight Titled Esper looked at each other's confused as they looked at the frozen forest with bewilderment and terror.

Not long before Yue Lin and the Supreme Moon Pontiff began to face the mysterious woman, the Eight Great Elders were cultivating in their courtyard, but then they immediately felt a familiar pressure miles away and the next thing they knew was a huge violent spirit fluctuations suddenly surged out of nowhere; they were alarmed and decided to go out and check it

They finally arrived at the Great Esper Beast's Forest, but then a terrifying pressure dawned upon them as they hastily went inside the forest without hesitation as they got closer to the origin of the pressure. The lower the temperature it gets and the next thing they knew was an icy tundra!

The once forest with full of vitality and lush green plant has now turned into an icy tundra, everything was covered in snow and ice! Any living creature would turn into an ice sculpture. Without the capability of a Spirit Esper, one could hardly survive in this kind of harsh conditions.

It might not be terrifying as a real terrain that can be found at the distant north, but this was something that a work of a human!

Changing the terrain and change the weather?

This is something beyond of their capacity as a Titled Esper! They all looked at the two of them with reverence and admiration.

"The one who killed the Temple's heiress is a Great Esper Beast!" The Supreme Moon Pontiff said, and the Eight Titled Esper immediately woke up from their stupor as they seriously listen. They clearly knew what this signifies, killing the sole heiress of the Temple was an unforgivable crime, but they were utterly confused.

'Isn't it perfectly normal for an Esper beast to kill a human for retaliation?'

As for Esper getting killed by an Esper beast, then they can only blame their luck and their inadequate strength. But how could they probably say it in front of the Supreme Moon Pontiff? If they say it right now, would it be just courting death?

"Then we will pay heed to your command, Supreme Pontiff!" One of them declared:

"Search the whole area of the Great Esper Beasts Forest! If you see a Great Esper Beast, kill it without suspense!" The Supreme Moon Pontiff issued an order, but then a terrifying pressure started to leaked out in the core region of the forest.

The Eight Elders were stunned.

Were they declaring war on Esper beast??

"Humans... You got guts to intrude to my space and dare to have the audacity to attempt to kill my clansmen!" A furious voice sounded out throughout the entire forest and the world seems to tremble as all the Esper beasts within the forest were suppressed to the ground without any chance to retaliate.

"Oh no! It's over!" One of them despaired as they felt their Esper energy within their bodies fluctuate wildly and went awry as their expression change and turn ugly.

The Supreme Moon Pontiff expressions were dark as she coldly smiled, "So you finally decided to show up, the Ruler of The Night, Moon Dragon King?"

"Yue Xin, hmph! You actually dare to think that you humans could slaughter us? Did you forget that I'm here?!" The Moon Dragon King threatened.

The Supreme Moon Pontiff laughed coldly as she sinisterly said, "One of your clansmen killed my Granddaughter, how can I not repay blood with blood?"

"Ha! You're making me laugh! If it was just paying blood with blood, I am more qualified to say this more than you! Yue Xin, did you forget that the two of you took the lives of the two of my companion?!" The voice said with fury.

"Hmph! It's not my fault that they were killed because of the lack of strength! Moon Dragon King, don't you think that changing the subject can make me distract from thoughts? You really are naive!" She said as she harrumph coldly.

"Speak! Which Great Esper Beast killed my Granddaughter! Don't try to lie to me! Or else I would go hunt them down one by one and search for my answer." She threatened.

"You dare-! I swear if you did that, you humans will pay with blood!" The voice was furious as it released an angry howl and the whole forest were shaken to the core!

"What a frightening aura-!" Yue Lin exclaimed.

The bad blood between humans and Esper beasts can be clearly seen from their conversation, their enmity runs deep to their bones, it was unshakable!

"He-he." A laugh escape from Yue Xin's mouth as the Moon Dragon King suddenly had a bad premonition.

"Why don't you show yourself, huh? Or did the damage I inflicted in you still hurt this much?" She craftily said.
