Chapter 4 IV

Anastasia p.o.v

"Wake up, sleepy head."I overheard Esmeralda say.

I opened my eyes and I stood from the bed, yawning.

"Oh Esmeralda, it's still dark outside. Why are you disturbing my beauty sleep?" I murmured.

"Seems like you've forgotten that you aren't with your stepfather anymore. For reminder's sake, you now live in Luciano Romano mansion, which means that you gave to get up early if you would rather not get into trouble."

Yeah, that's true.

"Alright." I mumbled.

"Just quickly take your bath," She said as she pushed me to the bathroom.

"And please don't stay too long in there, " she yelled from inside the room.

I quickly brushed my teeth and also took my bath.

I came out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around my body.

"This is your uniform, wear it." She handed me a white, short green gown that was similar to what she wore.

I looked in a mirror after putting on the dress. I looked nice in them.

"You look more beautiful. Come, let me apply make - up for you."

"Thank you, but no. I would rather not be dolled up like a barbie, " I declined.

"No. I promise to apply it in a moderate way. " She said as she dragged me to the chair.

Esmeralda helped apply a little makeup on my face, and it didn't take up to ten minutes.

"Wow, you are so beautiful! Please marry me?" She muttered as soon as she was done.

"Thanks." I blushed as I looked at myself in the mirror.

"Master Luciano might just eat you up once he set his eyes on you."

"Don't be ridiculous! It will never happen."

"You can never predict the future, you know." She pushed on.

"Well, we all have the right to choose our fate." I fired back at her.

The sound of a bell cut our conversation.

"It's time for breakfast." Esmeralda informed me as she dragged me alongside her outside the room.

Before stepping out, I looked at the clock in our room.

It was just 6:20Am.

Wow, so we also have to eat early too?

Esmeralda led the way to the massive dining hall in the servants quarter.

I never knew there were many ladies here.

It seemed like we were up to one hundred altogether!

So, most of these girls here have been in bed with master Luciano?

That's unbelievable!

Doesn't he have any shame at all?

He lets different girls see his nakedness.

I huffed at my thoughts.

That's gross.

We walked to the table to take our food when our names were called.

We were served baked eggs and sausage, and It tasted so delicious.

After eating, I was instructed to clean the large hallway with two other girls.

My back hurts!

So much for being a slave.

"You will get used to it with time." One of the girls said to me as she noticed that I was stretching my body.

"Thanks." I tell her.

"Welcome," She smiles

"I'm Miranda."

"Anastasia."

I grabbed the mop and began cleaning the dirty tiles.

Melissa p.o.v

I watched, Luciano chuckled as one of the girls bowed to greet him.

She looked beautiful, and I think she might be the one he will choose to be his next mistress.

The next person to take over my place, and I wouldn't let that happen.

I won't let anyone take my place in Luciano's life.

He is free to decide millions of girls, but for him to find a girl funny is not what I will take.

No girl is allowed to make him smile, and it hasn't been up to few minutes that she is here, he already finds her amusing.

I will have to get rid of her as soon as possible.

Anastasia's p.o.v

I sat by the window, looking at the sky.

"I miss you, mom. I miss you so much. I don't like this new life of mine. I don't want to be anyone's mistress. Not only that, but I don't want to be here." I whispered to the wind as tears flowed from my eyes.

I was so lost in thought that I didn't realize that someone walked in.

I felt a pat on my back and I turned to look who it was.

It was Melissa, Master Luciano's current girlfriend.

Why is she here?

Did the master send for me?

She looked at me curiously. I'm sure she realized that I was crying. I quickly wiped my face with my hands.

"I overheard what you said, and I can help you." She informed me.

I raised my eyebrows suspiciously.

Help me?

How?

"You look pitiful....since you would rather not be here, I know a secret passage out of this mansion. I could help you escape late at night if you want to leave here so badly." She whispered to me.

I shook my head.

"But...if there is a secret passage and a way to escape from here, then why haven't you left?" I questioned her, feeling like this was all a trap.

She sighed.

"I have nothing left in the outside world. No one to go back to. I like it here and Luciano treats me well. But if you would rather not leave, it's fine." She muttered as she turned to take her leave.

"Wait," I hurriedly said, and she paused her footsteps.

"What time are you going to show me the secret passage?" I asked her eagerly.

Melissa turned to look at me as she smiled.

"Well, you will meet me at the main kitchen at ten o'clock. I'm sure all the ladies will be asleep by that time." She notified me before taking her leave.

"Thanks." I appreciated her.
