Chapter 5 'I am CHAOS'

Already in her pajamas, Gabriella sat on her bed with the diary opened before her. She could understand only little of what was left of it. It was a really old diary. 1804. That was really a long time ago. More than two centuries already if she's not mistaking.

She flipped to the page that speaks about the madalenes as she continued reading from there.

".......and we the madalenes fled EMERALD city. CHAOS and his FALCONS were having upper hand against us and since EMERALD our goddess had to lost to CHAOS, we had no reason to stay behind." It stopped there as the rest of the words were no longer readable.

Gabriella turned to the cover of the book to be sure she was wasn't reading some kind of novel. She resumed flipping through the pages searching for the next readable part and she came across one.

".... today marks it two centuries since the goddess EMERALD and her city was conquered and also today, i was confirmed to be pregnant. I can't say I'm shocked but I must say I am surprised. Considering the fact that I haven't had any intercourse with a man before, I knew immediately that the prophecy was coming to fulfilment. I give up on the prophecy may years ago when it was delaying. If the prophecy about this child is true then, to hell with the goddamn deities. I'm gonna make sure I protect this child with all it takes and take her Faraway from the truth where she can live a normal life like every other human. I'm going to make sure non of them lays their hands on her. Not CHAOS and not even the madalenes." It also stopped there as Gabby scoffed. She was already confused. She flipped to the last page and luckily, it was readable.

"Today, on the 20th of February 1993 I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. She looks so much like her. I know soon enough, the madalenes will request for her but over my dead body will I let them take her away from me; not for the second time" she tried flipping to the next page but that was all. that was were it all ended.

By now, she already has a million questions running through her mind. She needed answers and explanation and only one person could give her that and that will be her mother. Who owns this dairy? That was the first question that needed to be answered. It can't possibly be her mother right? Was this diary trying to tell her that the writer had lived for two centuries and probably even more? Some kind of immortal or what? She scoffed yet again. She was finding it really hard to believe a thing in the book before her. Who is this EMERALD it's speaks of? The madalenes? Chaos and the falcons? What deities? And say on 20th February her birthdate was also mentioned.

"This is crazy" she muttered out aloud. Somehow, she felt all what has been happening to her was connected to this crazy book before her. She closed the book and kept it aside with the aim of confronting her mother with it the next day as she laid on her bed to sleep but sleep was Faraway from her. Her mind kept reflecting on everything and trying to connect the dots.

The seven women all got up from their position and were now facing the boy who was trying to regain his breath.

"And that's not all. CHAOS himself is leading them." He added with terror in his eyes as the women glanced at each other in shock.

"Impossible! It's impossible to escape emerald's prison at least for now." One of them said unsure.

"Ace, you and your sister should try and get the villagers especially the children into safety. I and the rest madalenes will try to stop the falcons." Giselle the one who seems to be the leader of the women said to the boy who nodded and left in a hurry.

"Did you hear that Giselle? Chaos has escaped." One of them named Baka panicked.

"Chaos is still imprisoned it's just his Shadow." Giselle replied and they were relieved a bit.

"If he can use his Shadow that means the prison is getting weak and soon he'll be out."

" Madalenes, this is not the time to discuss about that. we have to save the village first." Giselle cautioned as they all clasp their hands together and closed their eyes. They soon vanished into thin air.

They appeared at the heart of the village but it was already too late; It was already a disaster. Corpse of both male, female and most painfully, children were lying at every Conner. It's either they had their heart ripped out or, their intestines were no where to be found. A typical falcon way of killing.

"We're late." Baka muttered.

"Quickly, we split. The rest of you should try and bring any survivor into safety while I find chaos's Shadow." Giselle instructed as they dispersed. She stretched out her right hand and a long, sharp two edged sword appeared on her palm.

"Show yourself." She yelled with her eyes already in the shades of green. He was around. She could sense his presence. Suddenly, she was swayed off her feet and her back came in harsh contact with a tree. She grunted in pain and standing up, she saw him. There he was, standing before her in the form of a lady; In the form of EMERALD. This alone got Giselle really mad.

"How dare you use her image!" She yelled in anger charging towards him with her sword but before she could get to him, he disappeared and reappeared behind her. And when she turned, he gripped her by the neck lifting her from the ground.

"I am chaos and I do whatever I like. What makes you think a little madalene like you can fight me? Even your so called goddess lost to me.". He stated and let go of his grip on her as she fell to the ground.

"It won't be wise of me if I should finish you now. I want you to witness how I'll kill emerald for the second time. You'll watch me eat her heart and possess her powers. I'll make all other deities bow at my feet even your great Zeus."

"Curse you." She muttered as he laughed.

"How do you intent doing that? This your weak shadow can't possibly do much. You'll never get out of her prison." She added as he smirked.

"Really? We'll see about that." He said and vanished.

"Giselle! What happened?" the other madalenes came back as they helped her to her feet.

"I'm fine. How about the villagers? Are they in safety?" She asked instead

"Luckily, we were able to send the falcons back to the woods. Chaos's shadow did this to you?" Alana asked.

"He's a hundred times more powerful than I can remember. Soon, he'll be free and we all know what means for us. We have to find her first before his falcons do. We can't let him win again." Giselle said determined.

Gabriella woke up with a yawn. It was morning and surprisingly, she had slept like a baby. No nightmares.

She prepared for school, grabbed the diary and shoved it into her bag. She got down and to her utmost surprise, her mother wasn't at the dinning like she had thought. Was she still asleep by this time? She must have been really stressed out yesterday at work. She didn't bother going to wake her for she really needed the rest and herself was also late for school.

School went smoothly that day and lectures ended. She was walking out of the department with Fred when a girl approached them. It was Sophia, Fred's supposed girlfriend. Fred muttered inaudible words under his breath as she approached.

"Hey! Sophia" Gabby called smiling at Sophia who didn't return the smile or bothered looking her way but instead, turned to Fred.

"Fred. We need to talk like this minute" she sounded so serious as he sighed.

"Not here Sophia and not now" he stated as she scoffed.

"Why? Is it because of her?" She asked, glaring scornfully at Gabriella who ached a brow in return.

"Excuse me Gabby. I'll be back just wait for me." He said and dragged Sophia away with him.

Gabby didn't move from where she stood as she waited for him.

"Sophia don't do anything stupid." She turned to Fred's voice and saw him trying to catch up with Sophia who was headed for her direction. Gabby was beyond shocked when Sophia's palm collided with her face. She slapped her.

"You bitch!" She screamed as if that wasn't enough and grabbed Gabriella by the hair. Gabriella was too confused to even try defending herself. Fred pulled sophia away from Gabby as what he did next shocked everyone watching including Gabriella herself: he landed two hot slaps on each sides of Sophia's cheek.
