Chapter 9 Defended by Josh

Say one more bad thing about Lisa and you'll regret it" a Masculine voice cut Wendy short and she froze.

Wendy felt her heart jump out of her ribcage thinking it was Alex who spoke but she calmed down when she turned and found Josh, her crush standing there.

Lisa could recognize Josh voice anywhere. She looked up with teary eyes at him. Josh felt his heart ache seeing her tears and his anger against Wendy multiplied.

He walked up to her.

"How dare you call Lisa a slut?" He asked. Rage was clearly heard in his voice. Wendy shivered hearing his voice. He has never been so cold to her before.

"But that's what she is Josh. You don't know her as I do" Wendy sneered at Lisa.

Josh grabbed her arm hatefully. His grip on her hand was tight with his nails piercing her soft skin making her wince in pain

"I dare you tall call her a slut one more time" he gritted against her face, his grip not loosening for once from her hand.

"Your hurting me Josh" Wendy cried out as a tear slipped from the corner of her eyes.

Josh gave her a death glare before releasing her arm. Wendy began rubbing the place he held so tightly. It shone a big red color. She stood there trying to lessen her pain as she watched Josh. He walked up to Lisa and passionately, he cleaned her tears while staring directly into her eyes.

"Please don't cry. She isn't worth your tears" Josh said in a mild and comforting tone and Lisa nodded

Wendy folded her fist as she glared hard at Josh and Lisa. She had waited so long for Lisa to get married and for her to disgrace Lisa . But here was Josh coming to her defense.

Wendy had always love Josh and had always tried to gain his attention to no avail. She wanted to take out her anger on Lisa.

"She's a slut. That's what she is" Wendy yelled suddenly.

No one saw it coming. In a flash, Josh was in front of Wendy and before anyone could say anything,

"paaah"

The hall went silent. Lisa along with every other person there was quiet.

Wendy held her cheeks that stung from the slap that Josh had given her.

"Aaaahhhh" Wendy scream managed to bring everyone out from their reverie and everywhere erupted into a commotion.

"Did he just hit a woman?" Was the main murmur on the lips of everyone there.

Josh however didn't care about the murmurs nor the commotion. His eyes were on wendy. Red and cold, his gaze never left hers.

He had loved Lisa for as long as he could remember. And he certainly wouldn't tolerate anyone speaking a bad word against her.

Yes, he was deeply hurt that she was married to another man, that certainly didn't mean he won't defend her when needed.

And yes, it's wrong for a man to raise his hand to a woman but he certainly didn't regret hitting Wendy and he's certainly ready to damn the consequences.

"I dare you to call her a slut one more time" Josh threatened in a loud voice.

Tears streamed down Wendy eyes. Her hand still on her cheeks that stung from the slap. Her own father and mother has never raised their hand on her but here, Josh just did and it's all because of Lisa.

"Wendy!" Someone shouted and rushed to her and hug her. It was her mother Ruth.

" How dare you raise your hand on my daughter all for this worthless human?" Ruth yelled with a disgusted look.

She and Lisa's mom were rejoicing that they have finally succeeded in their plans when someone came and informed them that Lisa was being insulted by Wendy.

Their joy multiplied most especially Mrs Ruth. Lisa's mom didn't really care what they did or said to her daughter and was okay with it.

They were on their way to the watch the drama when they heard a loud sound and Wendy sudden scream. They rushed to the scene and Mrs Ruth was beyond shocked to see her daughter holding her cheeks.

" Call her worthless one more time and I won't mind hitting you too" Josh threatened Mrs Ruth leaving everyone astonished

"Where have your manners gone, Huh?" Another voice came from behind him and he faced the owner of the voice.

It was Lisa's mom, Mrs Williams. She had an angry and disgusted look as she looked at her daughter Lisa who was still crying helplessly.

She suddenly became irritated by just staring at her face.

"Mom" Lisa called out softly wanting to run into her mother arms and be hugged and comforted just like before. But the look on Mrs Williams face told her otherwise.

"She insulted your daughter and called her a slut" Josh defended his actions but Mrs Williams only rolled her eyes.

She snickered. "Isn't that what she is?!"

Josh's mouth dropped and so did Lisa's own. Mrs Ruth and Wendy smirked on hearing that.

"Everyone, my daughter here who is married to Mr Alexander Bills is a filthy slut and whore" Mrs Williams suddenly announced leaving Lisa stunned and hurt .

Everyone in the hall resumed bad mouthing her and calling her all sort of names.

Lisa felt like she was going to breakdown any moment from now. Was this the same who birthed her? Who trained her? Who loved her?

Why then was she hell-bent on ruining her life?. Why did she want to see her own daughter downfall?

Lisa legs felt like jelly and she fell to the ground weak and defeated. A triumphant smile laced Mrs Williams lips as she stared at her 'Useless and Helpless' daughter who knew nothing else but to cry her eyeballs out.

Josh wanted to run to her and help her up but Wendy held his hand. She released his hand and placed hers on his cheeks and caressed it.

"Please don't go to her. She isn't worthy of you. Look... her own mother confirmed that she is a filthy woman" Wendy said lovingly.

Josh looked at Lisa with a frown. He has always been a man of principles and hearing that Lisa was a whore made him question who she really is.

Wendy smiled. Seeing that her words had great effects on him. She was ready to forgive him for slapping her. No... Scratch that. She had already forgiven him.

"I'll make you mine Josh... All mine" she said to herself while she continued caressing his face while Josh stared at Lisa who was on the ground crying helplessly.

He pushed Wendy away and walked out . Wendy immediately chased after him leaving the hall.

Mrs Ruth walked up to Lisa and pulled her up roughly before landing a deafening slap on her making her fall back to the fall.

"And that's for Josh hitting my own daughter" she said sinisterly.
