Chapter 7 Accusations on Alex

She slowly accepted his hand as she climbed the pulpit. She was too nervous and scared to look at him directly. She kept her gaze at his collar bone admiring it and his jawline.

Standing next to him, Lisa could feel the cold air surrounding. It was suppressing and suffocating at the same time making him more domineering.

With shaky hand ,she took her ring while he took his and they said their vows even though Lisa sounded unsure and uncertain about those vows ever being fulfilled.

"Is there anyone who is against the union of these two? Please speak up or forever hold your peace" The priest asked and Lisa held her breath hoping that something will come up to prevent her from marrying his devil in front of her.

Even though she didn't know him personally, she at least knew his personality and from the rumours she heard, they weren't good ones. Many people dreaded the man she was getting married to. He was the most feared and respected personality in the world.

Plus rumour had it that he was the reason why the president was in his seat and he was the real one governing the country and not the president himself.

Now, she was getting married to the same rumoured devil. How in the world did Lia fall in love with him? It made no sense to her. Lia should have been afraid of him just like she is but somehow she wasn't and she also succeeded in making Alex fall for her too.

Now Lisa finally understood why her mom didn't want the truth to be reveal to Alex. That was because he had the power to bring them to ruins and if possible finish them off most especially Lisa fall killing his lover. But weren't they risking their lives more by lying to him and making him marry Lia's twin sister instead?

Lisa and the whole congregation waited for what seemed like eternity for someone to speak up if they didn't want the marriage to happen. Lisa was desperately waiting for someone to say something but none stepped forward.

But just as the priest was about to speak up, a deep voice resounded at the entrance of the wedding hall. "I object to this marriage"

Every head turned to the entrance except Alex who had a small smirk at the corner of his lips. He already knew the voice and had been waiting for the voice to speak up and definitely, he wasn't disappointed.

Chris walked towards the altar in slow but calculative movement. Arrogance and pride clearly visible in his steps as his eyes were on Alex who didn't even bother to turn back and look at him.

He stopped a few distance from the Altar where Lisa and Alex stood. Lisa in her heart desperately hoped that what ever the young and arrogant man had to say should be enough to stop her wedding.

"Please kindly tell the congregation why you object" the priest said in a calm tone. In his heart, he knew things won't end well with the young man who had dared object to the mighty Alex wedding.

"That is because this stepbrother of mine" he paused and let out a dubious grin as everyone held their breath waiting to hear what he had to say. "Is a murderer" he dropped the bomb and gasped could be heard.

Everyone was utterly shocked at his statement especially Lisa and her mother. However, Alex maintained his expressionless face as he gazed at the status of Jesus Christ on the altar , still not facing Chris.

"Alex has a stepbrother?"

"Oh my God, I never knew"

" Forget about that, didn't you hear what he just said"

" He accused Alex of being a murderer"

" How can America's most wanted bachelor be a murderer?"

" I won't believe it till i see evidence"

" Stop accusing people falsely"

" How do we even know your related to him? "

Chris folded his fist hearing the comment of the guests in the wedding. He knew no one would believe him but it's alright. He came with evidence to back up his claim.

"He murdered his own father, Maverick Bills,Our father" Chris stated and loud gasps could be heard as everyone was shocked.

Fear immediately crept into Lisa's heart as she glanced at Alex who was still facing the Altar. She shook inwardly. If she murdered his own dad then who was she?

"If what this man is saying is true, then am doomed" Lisa said inwardly.

" He murdered him because of his greed and want for the company and wealth" Chris added to his accusations and the murmurs in the hall grew louder. Everyone suddenly became confused.

"I can't believe he could do this"

"He killed his own father for money"

" He is a murderer"

" I hate you Alex"

The guest began to cause an uproar in the wedding hall. But Alex remained calm and reserved. None of what they said had elicit a reaction from him.

"Yes. He did. He killed my loving husband all because he was scared that his stepbrother, my son here, would get the company and not him" a woman in her early forties dressed in a sky blue long gown who happened to be Chris's mom, Alice suddenly stood up from her seat in the crowd and decided to add more heat to the fire.

She was just waiting for her son to arrive to make a move. She will never allow Alex to take full control over the company.

"I watched him stab my husband continually and to death. But when I spoke up, everyone thought I was speaking gibberish. He killed him" Alice said and suddenly broke down into tears.

" How dare you accuse my son?" Another fair lady , more beautiful than Alice got up. She was Lillian, Alex mother. Her face showed rage from the accusations levelled against her son. "Everyone knows he was shot. How could you say my son stabbed him without proof? " Lillian questioned angrily while Alice rolled her eyes inwardly.

Lillian was the first wife of Maverick Bills while Alice is the second wife although Chris her son is older than Alex.

"And who said we don't have proof?" Chris threw back the question at her.

" Then show us" Lillian commanded.

" We'll prove it in court. Police arrest him" Chris ordered and everyone turned to the police men in the wedding hall.

No one had noticed when they entered due to the commotions and confusion amongst everyone.

Finally, Alex turned and gazed at his stepbrother who was glaring hard at him. But his face remained blank and expressionless.

"You'll pay dearly for Killing our father Alex. What did you think, that you'll get married and lived happily? Never!! I'll never allow that" Chris yelled.

" I said arrest him" he yelled but the police men didn't move. They were desperately afraid of Alex and valued their lives. Even though Alex might have really murdered his father, no one could prove it and even if they did, all the policeman were afraid of him and he controlled their Commander who was controlled them.

So who were they to arrest him?

" You nincompoop, what are you waiting for?! Arrest him now!!" Chris screamed again before the head of the police finally move forward.

Alice released an evil smirk seeing the police moving to arrest Alex but she immediately removed it and continued with her fake tears before anyone could notice. But Cecelia, Alex sister noticed it and smirked too but didn't say anything.

As a matter of fact, she wasn't even bothered. She was still sitted while everyone else stood. She knew what ever her stepbrother and stepmother was planning against Alex would never work.

The police man who everyone expected to arrest Alex took out his handcuffs and locked them on Chris's hand surprising everyone.

"W-what are you doing?" He asked shocked and at loss of words.

" Actually, you are the one we'll be arresting Mr Chris"
