Chapter 3 John Warren

Tyson felt his anger consume every fibre of his being. He could tolerate anybody looking down on him and calling him names. But that did not include his daughter. He would never let anybody disrespect his daughter like that.

It didn't matter if that person was his mother-in-law.

The aura emanating from his body turned murderous but he fought to suppress it. He couldn't allow himself to scare his little daughter.

The whole family turned to see the intruder. The moment they identified who he was, looks of disgust appeared on their faces.

" Look who decided to return at last. If it's not that good-for-nothing husband of Samantha." Susan spat venomously.

" It's good that you are back. You should hurry and divorce Samantha so that she can marry someone of her calibre." Susan, Tyson's mother-in-law and Samantha's mother continued.

" I already said that I won't get a divorce." Samantha's weak voice replied.

Her reply angered her mother to no end.

Tyson on the other hand was pleased to hear that. It was enough for her that she didn't want to get a divorce.

It didn't matter whether it was out of personal reasons. At Least he had a chance to make things right and correct his mistakes.

" What do you mean you don't want to get a divorce? Samantha, do you want to anger me to death? What's so great about that loser husband of yours? It's enough that he disappeared for five years, leaving you to fend for Tara alone. When he comes back, he arrives empty handed, not even a single gift for your parents." Susan was so angry that the veins on her face started popping out one by one.

" Samantha, you should think about your mother's words and divorce that good for nothing husband of yours. I am willing to marry you and take care of you and Tara." John finally decided to speak.His words were hypocritical, sounding like he was doing Samantha a favour by marrying her.

John Warren was the heir of the Warren family. The Warren family was among the prestigious families in Los Angeles. While the Lewis family was a third tier family, the Warren family was a second tier family in Los Angeles.

" My decision will not change. I won't get a divorce." Samantha stood her ground, picked up her daughter and went upstairs.

" You should be grateful that someone like John who is of high prestige is willing to marry you. Don't be so ungrateful." Susan still continued to shout even when Samantha was already gone.

She then turned to look at Tyson with distaste.

" If you have any brains, you should hurry and divorce my daughter. She deserves someone better. Not a useless person like you." She berated Tyson who maintained a straight face.

For the two months he stayed married to Samantha, he got used to his mother-in-law's harsh words.

Samantha was known as the most beautiful woman in the whole of Los Angeles. Many people had expressed their intentions to Marry her. She had a bright future ahead, that was until the scandal that happened five years ago. She was forced by her family to marry him.

Her parents, especially her mother, hated Tyson for that, blaming him for ruining their daughter's future.

But he was a victim just like her. He never chose that to happen.

" Look at you. It's been five years and you are still dressed in your shabby clothes. I can see you are back to leech on my daughter again." Susan reprimanded.

Back then, Tyson was mocked and called a live-in son-in-law of the Lewis family who did nothing but leech on his wife. He didn't mind those insults. He endured them for the sake of Samantha.

He also knew that the humiliation he faced was nothing compared to what his involvement with her caused her.

He was penniless back then, but things are different now.

He could provide them with anything that they wanted and much more.

But he won't be telling them that. He would let everyone think that he's still that useless son-in-law of the Lewis family.

After visiting Tara and Samantha in their room, Lucas finally left.

He went to the hotel Jordan had reserved for them.

On his way to the hotel, all he thought about was how coldly Samantha treated him.

If it wasn't for his daughter Tara, maybe he wouldn't be able to see her.

She didn't open her mouth to talk to him.

Tyson could only assume that she was angry at him.

He would give her time to cool down. After everything, he will apologise to her accordingly. He didn't care if he had to beg for her forgiveness, all he knew was that he wanted to set things straight.

Tyson was resting in his room when Jordan announced that he had a visitor.

He couldn't help but wonder who it could be.

He just set foot in Los Angeles after five years, who could be visiting him?

He instructed Jordan to let the visitor in. He might as well just meet him Instead of pondering his identity.

" Good evening young master Tyson." An old man in his late fifties greeted him.

Even after decades, Tyson could still remember who the man was.

He was the butler of the Carter family. The family that abandoned him and his Mother.

He had unresolved and deep hatred for the members of the Carter family.

Sooner or later, he will let them feel the pain of losing everything and having to live on the Streets. He owed that to himself and his mother.

" What brings you here?" His voice was cold and distant. It revealed no emotions and so was his face.

" I have been sent by the Master of the Carter family to give you back the brilliance Corp that belongs to your mother. He has also prepared a few properties in your name and hopes that if you have time, you visit him." The man reported making Tyson chuckle.
