He would take that cold body in his arms, the one that was now lifeless and unresponsive, the one that now had a blade stuck in it with blood flowing as profusely as it did in a waterfall.
He would bring her back.
He stood up with her on his lap, and walked to the outside of the cell, where Kyree was staring at him with those deep eyes.
"Why are you still here?" the dragon asked in a cold, cutting way, with an arched lip that matched his "I thought you didn't care" he turned his now silver eyes to Ethel, eyes that now carried melancholy and regret.
"I had to be sure you wouldn't make a joke when you left," he said as he fixed his sapphire gaze on the corpse, "did you kill her?" he seemed to try to keep his tone unchanged, but clearly failed when he sounded embarrassed and frightened.
"Why do you care?" the silver eyes stared at him "do you want to pretend that she matters now?" he spoke trying to contain the scream he wanted to give, the anger he wanted to throw at the damn Maverick in front of him, at the being that those idiotic humans thought was divine, the closest thing to god on earth.
It was no use.
It wouldn't change anything.
"Curiosity," he let out as he moved away from the wall he was leaning against, "I think it would be an interesting story, the archduchess committed suicide in her madness," he tried to sound disinterested as he said as he walked towards Audra, "but there is something even more intriguing in this whole story..., what is such a powerful prince doing here with my dead wife in his arms?" he slid his pale hands over his shoulders, covered by a black cloak of thick and clearly well-finished cloth.
Disgust.
Disgust.
Contempt.
It was clear in the crimson-haired man's eyes as he watched those hands wander, brushing against his body in a disgusting way.
He couldn't help thinking, but he wouldn't let go of the woman he was holding for something as insignificant as the blue-eyed man.
"Were you by any chance, her lover?" Kyree whispered in his ear, with that sweet, malice-laden tone "or just...a person who loved her and she didn't love you back?" he seemed to try to provoke Audra with those words, but only received an icy stare in response.
"Again, now you want to pretend that something matters? Are you afraid your pride will be crushed?" silver eyes glittered, accompanied by clenched teeth "how can you even care about this tiny thing? She killed herself because of you, you fifth-rate celestial!" He wanted to clench his fists when you said that, but He couldn't, it would hurt Ethel.
"She..." couldn't continue, his face bathed in astonishment "how did she kill herself? How could she?" stopped again, trying to maintain his posture while refusing the urge his body had to cringe.
"With a blade, or besides being incompetent as a husband, are you also lacking in intellect and vision? Do blue eyes really have more deficiency when it comes to seeing?" he huffed, thus spreading his wings because he was already tired of that useless chatter, just like his sender "don't you dare approach her next time" flew out of the place through an open window, a window that was bringing the moonlight to that discussion, which made both of their reactions clear.
The light that let them hide nothing.

"How did you manage to marry that? I hope you have better taste in your next life!" he spoke as he looked with indignation at the dead body, as if he didn't understand how she, of all people, could subject herself to something so inferior; but he soon sighed "forget it, you won't remember this" he murmured as he put Ethel down; with a delicacy he didn't even know he possessed in his body "you'll be safe until I bring you back, you're in my palace now...." a mild tone, was what he spoke to as he looked at the platinum-haired woman with a certain zeal.
With that, he made a hole in his own finger with one of his fangs, drawing pictures on his and Ethel's body, and soon after also drawing them on the ground below them.
"Don't be an idiot this time, I don't know if I can bring you back again," he said as he finished, taking a bottle that was nearby and pouring the dark, strong-smelling liquid inside it around the corpse, making a circle, "a little of this too, to make sure you come back in one piece?" took a small bag that was around her waist, thus throwing the fine shiny powder that was inside it on the platinum girl's body, thus finishing doing everything necessary for the ritual to begin "by the blood of my ancestors that runs in my veins, by the lineage that was granted to me..." was said in a clear tone, one that could be heard in that large and dimly lit room, since the candles had just been blown out by the breeze that was a consequence of the beginning of the ritual.
"May the hourglass turn and go back, may the past overlap the present, and may death be nothing more than an empty memory that once made this afflicted soul" continued, causing a thundering wave of spiraling wind to surge, blowing everything away, except the two bodies that were there.
"The second chance is a gift that now and blood, that I Audra Cianci grant you, along with all those who before me have been here" the symbols that were once drawn, began to glow in a shade of gold that could blind, one that could not be seen straight on.
"Ethel Verena, don't make this offering something in vain" the glow increased, thus covering the entire palace, thus going to the entire city, the entire country, and finally, covering everything that was known in that reality.
It had worked.
He had managed to revive her.
He had succeeded in giving her the second chance she so desperately wanted.
