Chapter 1 The Truth

The room she was pulled in from the bathroom was dark except for the city light from the window, the place was nothing like the bar downstairs, Aria didn't remember walking here, didn't remember leaving her best friend at the event hall maybe she didn't want to remember, all she knew was the pain of what she had witnessed and Damien Ashford

One minute they were talking in the bathroom and the next they were on each other ,the room smelled of expensive cologne and sweat.

Aria was pinned down by her ex's father ,the man who was supposed to be her father in law, her dress long gone. Right now she was thinking about right or wrong, ethics and morality, decency not when his tongue is down her throat,he pulled away staring at her.

He shoved two fingers into Aria mouth without warning

"Suck".

He commanded and she sucked on it instinctively

"Good girl".

He growls low in approval.

She arched her back when she felt the fingers shoved into her wet pussy, she moaned out loudly as he thrust into her repeatedly, his dick soon replaced his fingers, he went slowly but soon quickened his pace, not giving her the time to breath, she love every bit of it.

'Tell me, do you enjoy it" He whispered to her.

Silence.

She didn't speak.

He flipped her over on her stomach and smacked her ass,the sound echoed through the room.

Her gasp turned into moan mid air, before her brain could process it, another one it .

And again!

Smack! Smack! Smack!!

Each one sent shivers down her spine, she felt a mixture of pain and pleasure,a sensation she never felt before.

Her ass stung, each slap harder than the last.

"Let me

ask again doll, do you like it the way I fuck your cunty pussy, was it better than Ethan's?."

"Yes"

One word.

"Call me master".

She didn't reply.

He smacked her thighs, she purred.

You like being punished, you little slut.

His voice dropped lower than before.

"Call me master"

He repeated.

"Master'.

She moaned out ,as he thrust deep into her womb.

"Good girl" .

Aria whines at the praise, she is discovering a lot she didn't know she was into, she couldn't believe she will ever be in the situation where she is being ass slapped by no one other than her ex father.

She held him tightly as they both cum, she felt light, this was the first time she ever had orgasm,it felt good, like she found a little piece of heaven on earth, she had always faked her orgasms with Ethan and never had them.

she turned away from Damien , turning her back to him, tears spilled from her face she didn't dare sob out, she felt him carry her, she closed her eyes tightly pretending to fall asleep maybe out of shame, he placed her into the bath tub and wash her body, the sense of relief filled her body as the warm water help her body calm a little.

As Damien laid her back down on the bed, he covered her with the silk sheet,he walked to the other side of the bed and then lay on it,as Aria felt a dip in the other side of the bed, she opened her eyes and saw Damien sleeping with his back facing her, the alcohol had completely worn off,her skin still warm from his touch, her ass still burning.

Her mind wasn't blank but not far from it, memories flickered behind her now closed eyes, The way she and her best friend had laughed all through the process of choosing a wedding dress, wedding invitations in winter cream, when crying when she proposed,All those moments felt real, she felt like it was her own fairytale with a happy ending like in the books, where it all went wrong she still questions specially with what happened today at her engagement ceremony.

Music played softly at The Grand Orion event hall. Guests mingled in purple and black, while the entire hall was decorated with heavenly themed decorations.

Today was supposed to be the happiest night of her life. Guests were dressed in the theme colors of winter and cream, her favorite colors.

Aria, wearing a champagne colored evening gown that hugged her slender figure, with a high slit that screamed effortless beauty. A diamond ring worth millions fitted perfectly on her finger, the proof of the future she had spent six years working toward.

The wedding date was less than two months away. She was going to be Mrs. Ashford, married to Ethan Ashford, the man she had loved since their university days. The only son of Damien Ashford, they were known as the perfect couple in university. They had graduated four years ago.

"Miss Bennett," one of the staff said politely. "Mr. Ashford asked if you could meet him upstairs in his lounge."

A smile spread across her face.

"Ethan?"

"Yes, Miss."

Her heart fluttered.

"Typical Ethan," she muttered softly.

"I will be back in a few minutes," she told her best friend, Sophia, who in turn grinned.

"If he cries again, record it this time." They both laughed, remembering when Aria proposed to him and he started crying.

"He wouldn't."

"He absolutely will."

Still laughing, Aria stepped out of the ballroom and made her way toward the private elevator. She had no idea she was walking straight toward the moment that would destroy her world.

The presidential lounge door wasn't fully closed. Soft laughter drifted into the hallway.

Aria paused.

The laugh...

It belonged to her cousin, the spoiled brat who always wanted to have everything that belonged to her. She didn't want to invite her, but she had no choice since she was inviting her uncle. She was the girl who made it her job to snatch everything from Aria.

"Why would Vanessa be here with Ethan?" she thought, frowning.

She gently pushed the door open.

Her frown deepened.

Her heart stopped.

Ethan, her man or so she thought, stood beside the floor to ceiling window, Vanessa's arms wrapped around his neck and his hands resting comfortably on her waist like they belonged there.

They were basically eating each other's faces.

Aria couldn't breathe.

The room blurred before her eyes. She choked loudly while trying to sniff back her tears.

Ethan and Vanessa spun around. For a long second, no one moved.

"Aria..." Ethan whispered, testing the waters.

Aria stared at him, looked at the lipstick stain near his collar, then looked at Vanessa's smug expression. She looked like she had won.

Aria looked back at the man who promised her heaven and earth.

"Is this why you called me here? To see you suck my cousin's face?"

"No... Of course not. I didn't call you here," Ethan argued.

All that didn't matter to Aria. She needed answers.

"How long?" Her voice came out barely above a whisper.

Ethan stepped forward.

"Listen to me."

"How long?" she repeated, louder this time.

Vanessa folded her arms.

"If you are asking whether this was the first time..."

She smiled.

"It wasn't."

Aria felt something inside her break.

Ethan glared at Vanessa.

"Shut up."

"No," Vanessa replied calmly. "She deserves to know."

"We had been together for over four years. Every time he had night class or business training at his father's company, he was with me, on my bed warming it. You know, Aria, you think you are untouchable, but while you were behaving like the campus queen, being everyone's favorite, I was here being the only person who mattered to your favorite man.

"I tasted him. You know what he says when you call? He says you are a bitch who clings to him like a leech that won't go away.

"I beat you at the one thing you wanted most. They talk about how pretty and smart you are, but you couldn't even keep a man with those features. You are a fool. I can't believe you could propose to a man. You were the first to confess your love, and then you planned an elaborate proposal party for him.

"You know why he never proposed? Because he only accepted you because he pitied you when you proposed.

"You can't keep a...."

A slap echoed through the room.

Aria palmed connected to Vanessa's cheek before she could finish her words. The sting she felt after was definitely worth it.

Vanessa held her cheek, shocked.

"Four years!"

While she was planning her future with him, while she fantasized about their wedding, their kids, choosing invitations, he was whoring around with her cousin, who he always consoled when she cried about how mean she was and how she maltreated her when Aria was living with the Hart family.

She looked at Ethan.

"Tell me she is lying."

Silence.

That silence answered everything.

Tears blurred her vision, but she refused to let them fall.

"You let me believe..." she whispered.

"I was going to tell you."

"When, you bastard? When?"

"After our engagement," Ethan spoke out.

A broken laugh escaped her.

"After?"

"I didn't know how to tell you."

"You had four fucking years."

"I was protecting you."

"Protecting me?" she asked. "You call this protection? What exactly were you protecting me from? You were the danger...the monster I needed protection from, and you claimed to be protecting me."

Vanessa slipped her hand into Ethan's.

"He is mine."

Aria felt the last piece of her heart crumble. Without another word, she turned to leave.

"Aria!" Ethan hurried after her.

She spoke without looking back.

"If you touch me..."

He froze.

She walked and stopped.

"I'll never forgive you."

Chapter 2 The morning after

Every step felt heavier by the time she reached the elevator. Tears streamed freely down her face. The moment the doors closed, she broke down.

Downstairs, the celebration continued. No one knew... No one knew that the bride had watched her man betray her with her cousin.

Aria slipped through the exit before anyone noticed.

Cold night air hit her face.

She welcomed it. She didn't even know when she hailed a taxi that drove her to the nearest bar.

She held onto the counter, ignoring the loud music and how the people beside her were basically dry-humping each other.

"The hottest shot you got," she spoke out.

The bartender didn't question her dressing or her disoriented state. He simply gave her what she wanted without judging her.

She drank it in one go. The hotness made her throat burn, and she liked it.

She reached out to pay.

"It's on the house," the bartender said, stopping her.

"Oh."

"Yes, ma'am."

She didn't question it.

She headed to the toilet, ignoring the couple having sex by the door. She washed her face and looked at her red eyes.

She decided to take a break from the loud music. She had switched off her phone because of the constant buzzing. She had gotten calls from her best friend and her uncle, even Ethan.

She had already thrown off her engagement ring while she was in the taxi.

She looked up at the mirror and spotted a man looking at her.

She wasn't sure if it was the alcohol or if there was a fucking hot man behind her with a cigar, looking at her like prey.

And he was her ex father in law.

The king of business.

The CEO of Ashford Group, the company that had boycotted countless companies, enterprises, restaurants, and even people in the fashion industry.

Damien Ashford.

He was worth trillions of dollars.

"So that's how dreams die."

The deep voice behind her made her turn sharply.

She looked at her hand, traced his eyes, and quickly hid it.

Damien came several feet away, dressed in a perfectly tailored black suit. His broad shoulders and commanding presence made him impossible to ignore.

Their eyes locked. For one strange moment, neither of them spoke.

"You know, you could sell it instead of throwing it away," he said as he handed her the ring.

His eyes widened slightly in shock.

"It wasn't worth keeping," she said, wiping her tears.

"Interesting."

"Shouldn't you be at the party with your son and his whore?"

"Why should I? When I have someone far more interesting," Damien said.

He reached out to wipe her tears.

Aria visibly relaxed and leaned into his touch for a split second before she regained herself.

She felt dizzy from the alcohol. Maybe that was why she wasn't pulling away or blushing.

The man's lips were now on hers, but one thing was for sure.

She wanted more.

"Shall we take this somewhere else?" he whispered, his hot breath fanning her face.

She nodded.

He led her down the hallway to a room behind the club.

As if reading her mind, he said, "I own this place."

He left trails of kisses on her, and she couldn't help but moan.

"Should I help you out of that pretty dress?" he asked.

He only got a nod before he zipped down her dress.

The next morning, Aria woke up with a splitting headache.

She tried to move but felt a head on her waist.

She looked down and quickly put a hand over her mouth in shock.

She tried to sneak out of the bed. I mean, who wouldn't after finding out they had slept with their ex father in law?

She tried to remove his hand from her waist, but when she tried to stand, her legs gave out.

"Did I break you?" a deep voice spoke out.

She looked back at him, smiling sheepishly.

"Good morning," she said, holding her clothes to cover her nakedness.

Damien chuckled at her cute expression.

"I will get you new clothes. Go and bathe. I need to talk to you, so don't try to run away. I have guards outside," he said in an authoritative voice.

"Yes, sir," she said before she could think.

Her face reddened.

She quickly ran toward a door she thought was the bathroom door, with the duvet wrapped around her.

"Unless you want to flash everyone outside, you will walk out," Damien's voice rang out.

Aria quickly closed the door and ran toward the other door after realizing she had gone the wrong way.

The door slammed loudly.

Damien chuckled.

Aria was having a crisis in the bathroom.

"Maybe I should start living in the bathroom because how am I supposed to face him? What do we even talk about?"

She pulled her hair.

"God, why is my life so terrible? First, my ex fucked my cousin on my fucking engagement date, and now I just had the best sex of my life with his father."

Aria panicked while remembering his touch.

She stared at the mirror, looking at the marks on her body. She hissed when she touched one.

She felt herself getting aroused at the thought. She quickly shook her head, opened the cabinet, and found an unused toothbrush in its case.

She brushed her teeth.

Her body felt relaxed under the shower. She moaned at how relaxing and clean she felt.

Finally deciding to come out, she wrapped herself in a towel she found.

She came out to find the room empty.

She spotted the dress on the bed and quietly changed into it.

She wasn't sure whether to sit there or go out.

She decided to sit down in the room.

"Sometimes losing the wrong person is the beginning of finding the right path."

She heard the voice and turned to see Damien, now dressed, opening the door and coming in.

She jumped slightly, unsure of what to say. She felt tired and numb.

"Let's have breakfast, shall we, little one?" he asked as he handed her phone to her.

She collected it, still unsure of how to feel about the nickname.

She turned it on.

Of course, her phone immediately started buzzing with text messages, missed calls, and Instagram notifications.

Her friend's call came in.

She looked at Damien as if asking for some space.

He went to sit on the couch, his eyes not leaving her.

She calmly answered the call.

"ARIA!" a voice yelled.

Aria regretted putting the phone on her ear. She pulled the phone away from her ear.

"I for sure know that you are not trying to deafen me or something."

"Where are you? I'm going to kill you!" Sophia said, still agitated.

Damien laughed quietly but stopped when Aria glared at him.

"Are you okay? I heard the news."

"What news?"

"It's all over social media. Someone must have leaked photographs."

Aria quickly looked it up.

Her story was trending at number one on X.

As expected, there were pictures of her slapping Vanessa, Vanessa and Ethan kissing, Aria crying, and many other pictures from the confrontation.

She looked at Damien, who smirked slightly.

She quickly put everything together in her head.

"I'm fine, Sophie. I will call you back later," Aria said quickly, hanging up before Sophia could speak.

She glared at the indifferent looking Damien.

"You did this".

Chapter 3 The proposal 1

Trying to wrap her head around everything, Aria stared at Damien.

"The staff who sent me to the lounge under the pretense that I was being called by Ethan, the pictures circulating online, they were your doing?" Aria asked, gazing at the man who looked at her like prey, making her feel strangely unsettled.

"They were meant to be out at some point. I just quickened the process. Nothing too bad."

"Why?" Aria breathed out.

"He doesn't deserve you, and I need you to know that badly."

"He is your son?"

"My adopted son, Miss Aria. And even though I will not tolerate disgusting behavior from my family members..."

He paused.

"I want to make a deal with you. A chance to rewrite this whole thing. A chance for revenge."

"What do you mean?" she asked quietly as she settled back down on the bed.

Damien didn't answer immediately. Instead, he looked out the window, his sharp profile unreadable.

"Everyone reaches a crossroads at some point in their life. Some know, and some never realize that they are standing at one."

Aria frowned.

"And you think today is mine?"

"I know it is," Damien answered.

His certainty unsettled her. She had only met him three times, as far as she could remember,at her school orientation, at a family dinner three years ago, and the third time was last night. Yet he spoke like he understood her, like he knew what she needed, and that infuriated her more than she wanted to admit.

"I can't do anything. What is done is done."

"You are wrong."

She walked closer to him.

"The past can't be changed."

"No," he said.

His gaze met hers.

"But the future can. Miss Bennett, let's have lunch, shall we?"

"Erm... sure... of course."

The club looked less like it had the night before as they walked out. It was quiet, with no disco lights or music. There were guards outside their room and all over the club premises.

The Rolls Royce pulled into the driveway of an elegant restaurant. It had the same name as the restaurant "NOIR" and it was one of the restaurants boycotted by Grand Orion.

It was quieter than expected, even though it was at the center of the city.

The drive there was quiet. Damien looked at Aria once in a while, but Aria's eyes never left the window. She felt tired and, at the same time, curious.

She came out of her thoughts when her door was opened by Damien.

She got down and saw bodyguards lined up at the restaurant entrance. She was led inside the restaurant by Damien.

"You should eat," he said.

As soon as they settled down, she looked around and found that they were the only ones there. She wasn't that bothered because she knew who she was sitting with.

She almost laughed at his words, though.

"You are determined."

"You had too much alcohol last night. You need food."

"I'll survive."

"Maybe."

His tone remained calm.

"But I don't intend to watch over a sick person. Also, you need food. You cried a lot yesterday. You need to regain your strength so that your cousin won't feel like she is the winner when she sees you sick and feeble."

She was about to protest but kept quiet, pouting slightly.

Aria stared at the feast being placed on the table by the waiters.

"I can't possibly eat all this."

"You don't have to."

"Then why did you order food that can feed a dozen mouths?"

Damien picked up his fork and spoon and proceeded to dish out some food onto Aria's plate.

"I don't like to see an empty table."

"That is the rich speaking in you."

She shook her head.

"You are strange."

For the first time since last night, the tightness in her chest eased.

She picked up her spoon and took a bite. Only then did she realize how hungry she was.

Nobody spoke. Only the sound of cutlery could be heard. It was somewhat peaceful.

Finally, Aria placed her spoon down and stared deeply at Damien, who was busy with his steak.

"I must look pathetic," she sighed.

"No."

His answer came immediately.

"You were betrayed."

Their eyes met.

No pity.

No judgment.

Just a simple statement of fact.

"I spent my whole life loving someone who doesn't love me."

"That says more about how pathetic he is, not you."

His words caught her off guard.

She had expected him to tell her to be strong, stop crying, and move on, but he simply acknowledged the wound. Somehow, that made it hurt less.

Across the table, Damien studied her quietly the pain, the confusion, the humiliation. He wished he could wipe it away. He clenched his fist underneath the table.

He remembered the first time he met her at the college. He felt like he had seen an angel, her bunny-like smile, her dimples, her brown eyes, her tan-toned skin, and her curly hair.

He found out she was a mix of Nigerian and American.

He later found out, a few weeks later, that she had confessed to his son and that they were dating. He had to step back because she was dating the only family he had, the boy he had taken in and had to take care of after his parents, who were his brother and sister in law, died because of him.

Marcus, Damien's assistant, entered discreetly.

"Sir."

Damien looked up.

"The documents are ready."

Aria frowned.

"What documents?" she couldn't help but ask.

Marcus hesitated before placing the sealed black folder beside Damien.

"I'll wait outside."

The door of the restaurant closed.

Silence returned.

Damien gazed at the documents but didn't open them.

Instead, he looked directly at Aria.

"I have a proposal."

"A proposal..."

"It might sound unreasonable."

"That's not exactly reassuring," Aria said, shifting slightly in her chair.

"It wasn't supposed to be," Damien said, looking at her.

Aria smiled again, but the smile faded when Damien's expression became completely serious.

"I need a wife."

Aria stared at him like she had misheard him.

"Sorry?"

"I need a wife."

For a moment, she looked at him before letting out a genuine laugh.

"I'm your son's ex."

"I know."

Damien didn't laugh.

Her smile slowly disappeared.
