Chapter 10 010

Sylvia remained unconscious for the whole day and only woke up at night. She felt a light headache when she tried to sit up. Remembering all that happened last time, she looked around her and found that she was in a familiar room. When she tried to get down from the bed, she found Gerald sprawled out and sleeping on the floor then her eyes spotted the incense that was burning at a corner.

Her eyes narrowed as she wondered if perhaps, this was the reason none of the others woke up the other night even when a person was killed in the house. But she had woken up though, she wasn't surprised that it didn't affect her. In fact, she would have been surprised if it did. She was long past that stage.

She looked around her.

So he had brought her back into the house after throwing her out. She bet his pride was hurt.

Sylvia felt her stomach growl. She was hungry. After what Kai had specially cooked for her in the morning. She didn't eat anything else and now her stomach needed attention. She wondered if it will be safe to go downstairs and use the kitchen. Some Lycan wouldn't be waiting there now right?

Though she would not surprised if a Lycan did attack again. Jace had made himself quite alot of enemies back then apart from just witches. He was a rogue back then but damn powerful than most Alpha's.

She stepped down and walked past Gerald, out of the room and down the stairs. She easily located the light switch this time as she made her way to the kitchen. She paused for a moment before opening the fridge to check for something that could be cooked.

Her mouth hung open at the sight that met her. There was practically almost nothing in there. Apart from a few tomatoes and eggs and some vegetables. There was nothing else. Do they not cook? She had no idea that Kai had never cooked for anyone apart from her and her friends and he had used the last of most of the items remaining.

Sylvia sighed, shaking her head as she took out the tomatoes, vegetables and eggs. There was still at least one dish she could make from this. She got to work and very soon, her delicious dinner was ready.

Her stomach grumbled in anticipation but just when she sat down to eat, the lights turned off on it's own and she froze in her position. Shocked. Her heart started to beat faster when she remembered the last night's events. That Lycan... She gulped, trying not to think about it as she picked up the fork on her plate. Holding it out in front of her. Right now, she was a weak werewolf so she had to play the part. She stood up and tried to peer into the darkness to see what was in front.

She couldn't help starting to feel alarmed when she heard nothing and saw nothing. The place was now as silent as a graveyard would be. Her senses were also heightened because of the lack of light. She felt as if something might jump at her at any moment.

"Who is there?" She called. Hearing nothing in return, she used her magic to turn on the lights. Werewolves were creatures who could see perfectly fine in the dark and she was not one. In front of her there was nothing. There was no sign of a presence.

She sighed. Perhaps it was just the lights malfunctioning. Turning around, Sylvia was shocked when she suddenly came in contact with a hard body. A startled scream left her lips and the fork she origianlly held to defend herself now landed on the floor with a shrill sound.

Damian?

"What are you doing?" His deep voice rang out in front of her.

"Shouldn't i be asking you that? What are you doing here?"

"This is my house" he pointed, rendering her speechless immediately.

Ohhh... She blinked. Gathering back herself as she picked up the fork and dropped it on the table. Her eyes moved to the food which she was yet to taste. Ahhh... her poor stomach was in so much pain already!

"I cooked something to eat since i was very hungry"

"Oh, i see" his eyes moved towards the table and without saying any other thing, he turned around to leave.

"Jace!" He heard her call and he froze in his step. His hands gradually became fists then he turned around to look at her "What did you call me?"

Sylvia gulped. Seeing his expression, all the words she wanted to say went down her throat. She didn't even know why she was like this. Why she had to call out his name. A name he wasn't bearing anymore "Ahh... I was going to say Damian. Slip of tongue" She forced a smile and walked past him to the table "I will leave tomorrow" She told him.

Before she could sit though, Damian was already in front of her. She looked at him questioningly "Why? You don't want me to?" She ached a brow seeing his eyes move as they held her gaze as if he was trying to see something.

"I will let you stay for a few more days" His voice rang out. While Sylvia was a bit surprised, she actually expected this.

"Why?" She asked, her eyes still not leaving him but he suddenly came closer. His lips curving into a smile. A kind of smile that didn't give her a good feeling.

"Didn't you say you are here to find something?"

Yes... You.

"Well, i will let you find it..." He tilted his head a little to the side "I'm curious you see... If you will succeed. I hope you do" with this, he left.

Disappeared from her sights.

Sylvia fell on the chair. Her eyes closed as she processed his words. Was this a challenge then? She was confused. Having no idea what he was thinking. She stared at the food in front of her but there was no appetite anymore. She stood up and went back into her room.

The next morning, Sylvia knew she needed to explain to Gerald and the rest why she insisted on staying. But what could she say? That she found the iron claws she was searching for? It would only scare them more and make them easily give theirself away when thinking about the fact that they were under thesame roof as the man that gave them nightmares. She couldn't even start imagining what might go wrong.

"Why do you look so thoughtful? Is something wrong?" Gerald asked and she quickly shook her head with a dull smile.

"Aren't you all going to ask why we are staying?" She looked at them and they glanced at each other before Gerald spoke.

"No. We trust you. There must be a reason you decided to stay"

"We will obey and follow you" Fiona stated and she found her lips stretching at that.

"We are only here to help you if there is a need. So..." Evelyn trailed off but Sylvia got her point.

"It is good then. I will take over from here just for a while. Make sure you all try to act natural. Do not get close to anyone and report to me if anything seems off here"

"Sure" They replied.

When they left, Sylvia's eyes narrowed. Fine, since she was going to stay here, she needed to go straight to the point without wasting time but first, there was one thing she needed to do. Sylvia got into the bathroom and locked the doors then made the room soundproof. She filled up the bath tub with water but instead of going in, she closed her eyes and started to recite some spells.

Bubbles appeared in the water but soon it cleared to slowly form an image of a person "My queen"
