Chapter 9 The Deadly Curse

Ashley Cole tried looking out of the window, but he was pulled back by a feminine figure sitting at the edge of the car.

"Where the heck did you run to? You kept your father waiting" the woman that looked like Whitney Cole asserted with red-rimmed eyes as she hugged Ashley tightly in her arms, faking a sob.

The male figure sitting opposite them was staring at the two people in front of him, he had just gotten back from New York and expected his beta Lincoln to pick him up from the airport.

However, he met Whitney Cole whom he thought had faked her death just to escape from him.

Flashback to many years ago, after Aiden Lewis had found the dead body in the lake and the letter left by Whitney.

He had lived with guilt for causing the death of the only offspring of his benefactors and not being able to keep her alive.

Meanwhile, one year later Whitney appeared in front of him with a baby that looks like him.

He was bewildered and refused to believe that the woman in front of him was Whitney Cole, the woman he vow to protect against all odds.

"Why did you return after faking your death? Aren't you afraid that I might harm you just like you thought in the past?" Aiden had asked the shabby woman in front of him.

"I'm sorry Aiden, I was willful and created trouble in the Lycan castle but he is your son. I don't want him to grow apart from you" she uttered while biting her lips.

Although, he noticed an odd temperament that screamed nobility unlike the Whitney he had saved from the cruel punk that had no temperament and was also unreadable.

After Aiden got their DNA tested, he took the mother and son in but had nothing to do with the mother, he'd only taken them in because he felt guilty for her.

The relationship was odd as Aiden paid no attention to Whitney and also wanted nothing to do with her, he was stunned when he saw the vehicle that came to pick him up.

"Why is she here?" He had asked his beta through the mind link, glaring at Whitney to know if he could see through her.

"She insisted on taking Dennis to you, your stepmother also agreed to this" Lincoln responded right away.

Aiden sighed softly and locked his eyes, he'd have to speak with the human Luna of his father when he returned to the castle.

"Bang!" The door of the main hall flung open.

Aiden walked in large strides and stopped in front of an old white hairy woman, everyone sitting on their seat stood up and bowed curtly to Aiden.

"Welcome my king" they uttered in unison with quivering lips, although Aiden was the lycan king of all wolves he is also the alpha king of the Night Walker pack which was mostly half-bred lycans.

He is their leader, who they respect and feared as the last lycan and the devil with a bad temper, he could decide to take one's life without thinking about it.

He was the most feared lycan in history as people were scared that he'd be cursed with his mother's demonic traits which would cost the pack and the Wolfen city their lives.

"What part of my words did you not understand when I said don't meddle in my business?" Aiden slammed his hand on the table and inquired.

He hated scheming women and he could clearly see what the human Luna was up to, "what are you talking about son? You just got back and your temper has become worse" Angelina Josh the human Luna and Aiden step mother affirmed.

She was brought into the palace with her son by Aiden's father two days after his mother's demise.

The deceased lycan king never ceased to show his displeasure for his son Aiden, because he was forced to marry his mother Margaret Lewis who was said to have dined with the devil to have her son Aiden.

It was also rumored that he was not the real son of the Lycan king, however, he was able to inherit the Lycan blood which made him the next king and leader of the wolves.

Aiden's hatred for his father's mistress was at its peak, his eyes flashed with a murderous glint, and his eyes in a flash changed into a spark but returned to normal.

"Bang!" He tossed the table in front of the human Luna which had teapots and cups filled with coffee on it aside and broke it into tiny bits.

"Don't you dare mention or address me with that if you still cherish your life and wish to stay in this castle" Angelina gripped the side of her seat and gnashed her teeth.

She felt wronged and could only blame her husband for giving her a half-bred.

"Aiden Lewis! What the heck are you doing?" A husky voice yelled and matched into the main hall on large strides with the sole of his shoe hitting the ground.

Aiden tilted his head and glared at his stepbrother Maroon Lewis who stepped back because of Aiden's intimidating aura.

"Stay off my way, then we can live together" He stormed out of the main hall, leaving everyone in it with their breath in their palm.

"You shouldn't have yelled at the old woman in front of so many people" Lincoln mumbled while waking next to his Alpha who was fuming with rage.

"Hey, Aiden, what's going on with you?" Lincoln halted in his strides as he was alarmed.

Meanwhile, Aiden was clouded with a fury that triggered the deadly curse, his body quivered and his bones started breaking.

"No, not now" Lincoln Grey panicked and was confused.

"Growl!" A loud growling was heard throughout the castle.

"Snap!" Aiden turned into a fire monster, enormous, and fiery, and jumped out of the window and ran into the woods growling softly.

"Aiden! Stop." Lincoln yelled and turned into his wolf Micky, this is the first time in eight years Aiden has gone out of control.

'He must be really mad at the human Luna, could she have stimulated Aiden on purpose?' Many thoughts kept on running through Lincoln's head.

He sniffled and tracked the smell of Aiden but he suddenly found out his trail was gone in the middle of the woods.
