Chapter 6 What the hell Ashton!

CHAPTER SIX

AVA's POV

"I hope you're not expecting faithfulness from me either," I told him sharply.

"And why not?" He arched a brow."You are supposed to be my wife. Besides I am trying to help you. You are an actress so the people's eyes are gonna be on you. One slip up and you would be dragged again. Unless you wanna tarnish your image, you better keep your kitty cat in your panties,"

I flushed out of embarrassment and shifted uncomfortably in my seat.

Oh how dare him?

"Are you insinuating that I am a slut?" I asked trying to keep a calm voice although I was already losing it.

"Well it didn't take you long to jump into my bed the other night. Also, you were sleeping with Michael Raven so he could help you with a lead role am I right? But then it didn't go as planned. I also did my research and found out quite some things about you,"

"Why on earth would you even do that?" I asked, getting agitated.

"Why wouldn't I do a background check on the person that would be living under my roof?" He responded rather patiently.

Oh I so wanted to smack him hard across his face and break that pointed nose of his.

Breathe,Ava...

"About me falling in love with you,in your dreams because that would never happen. And you should also check yourself before pointing out my flaws. You,my friend, are a man whore.Yes, I have heard about you too."

I had just blurted out some words I probably shouldn't have said. I thought he was going to flare up but he was very calm. Too calm and I could swear I saw a smirk forming on to his lips. In a second it was gone.

"Maybe your memory is a little hazy but maybe when I fuck you again, you'd find out why all the ladies can't keep away from me and keep coming back," he said bluntly and I blinked a few times, surprised at his response.

Clearing my throat and looking at number nine on the list of rules I asked,"So why do we need to have sex?"

"Because we are going to be husband and wife, dummy." He said flatly. "You're supposed to fulfil my needs and infact I am doing you a favor. You should be happy. Still,it was the same you who couldn't get enough of me the other night now you're complaining?"

I inhaled deeply. What had Olivia gotten me into? I wondered how to tell Brett about this.

"Now," he adjusted in his seat leaning forward,"Too much time has been wasted already so you should be sign the contract right now or I am walking away with my money. Or maybe throwing you in jail till you pay."

And with that,he thrusted a ball pen into my palm and I just froze looking at the paper.

My heart was beating so fast.

Could I do this? This was too much for me to handle.

*****

Well yes I actually did sign the papers.

And I was moving over to Ashton's house. Today.

As I tried packing my final belongings, well most of Olivia's,I couldn't help but feel nervous. Brett was coming over, and I wasn't sure how my mother would react.

When the doorbell rang,my heart skipped a beat. I stood up and smoothed out my dress, taking a deep breath before heading to the door. When I opened it, I was greeted by Brett's warm smile.

"Hey," he said, leaning in for a hug.

I wrapped my arms around him, feeling his strong embrace. As we pulled away, I noticed Mom standing in the doorway, watching us.

"Mom, this is Brett," I said, introducing him the moment she walked close enough. "He is my boyfriend that I told you about,"

"It's a pleasure meeting you finally ma'am," Brett greeted with a small smile stretching out his hand.

Mom didn't take it. Instead, she looked him up and down before giving a small nod. "Nice to meet you," she said curtly.

"Mom," I whispered, shooting her a look she was clearly ignoring.

"I really care about Ava," Brett said earnestly. "I want to make things work between us, even if she has to act like Olivia for a while."

Mom didn't seem convinced. "I don't care," she said brusquely. "Ashton will be here soon, and you need to leave."

"Mom!" I called, narrowing my eyes at her."You do not have to be rude to him. He is still my boyfriend you know,"

"And Ashton would soon be your husband. You should have broken off this relationship before now. I don't even know what he is doing here. It is a waste of time.Go pack up now Ava."

And with that,she walked off.

I was sad at Mom's dismissal of Brett and I could tell he was hurt too.

"I'm really sorry," I took his hands."Mom just doesn't understand."

"I'm really sorry, " he apologized.

I felt my eyes becoming watery. "It's not your fault," I said. "My mom just doesn't understand."

He squeezed my hand, his grip tight and unyielding. "I can't bear to see you leave," he said, his voice choked with emotion.

A tear slipped down my cheek. "I don't want to leave either," I admitted.

"But what about us?" He asked, his blue eyes pleading with mine. "What happens to us when you're gone?"

I felt a lump form in my throat. I didn't know the answer to that question. All I knew was that I loved Brett, and I didn't want to lose him.

"I don't know," I said softly. "But we'll figure it out. We'll make it work."

He shook his head, his eyes shining with unshed tears. "It's not that simple," he said.

"I love you,Brett. And marrying Ashton would not come in between that."

"Promise?"

"I promise,"

"I love you so much Ava," he pulled me into a tight embrace and then we shared a long passionate kiss before being interrupted by Mom's voice that was clearly irritated.

"Ava! Is he still here?"

I wiped at my eyes."I don't want to cry,Ashton would be here any moment,"

Brett gave a gentle nod and smiled sadly.

"Do take care of you," he stroked my cheek softly and walked away slowly. My heart was hurting so much but I needed to focus. Mom helped me place my luggage in the porch where I sat, waiting for Ashton.

Soon enough, a sleek black car pulled up, and the driver stepped out to open the door for me.

"Good evening, Miss Olivia," he said with a polite smile, and I got into the car. The interior was plush, and the leather seats were so soft that I sank into them comfortably. The car was fitted with a mini bar and I saw the driver reach for a bottle of water and offer it to me.

"Thank you," I said, taking the bottle and twisting it open. The driver started the car, and we set off towards Ashton's mansion.

As we drove through the city, my eyes were glued to the window, taking in the sights and sounds. Soon enough, we reached a grand gated entrance with a security guard who waved us in. I leaned back into the seat, feeling a mixture of excitement and nervousness as the car glided down a long driveway.

As the car slowed to a stop, my eyes widened at the sight of the mansion before me. It was a sprawling mansion, with large pillars and a grand entrance. The building was in the neoclassical style, with white marble walls and a black roof that contrasted beautifully.

As I stepped out of the car, two ladies in their mid-thirties came out to greet me with a welcoming smile. "Good evening, Miss Olivia," one of them said. "We're glad to have you here. My name is Sarah, and this is my colleague, Emily."

"Hello," I said, feeling a little overwhelmed. "Nice to meet you."

They showed me inside, and my jaw dropped at the sight of the interior. The hallway was grand, with marble floors and a beautiful chandelier hanging from the ceiling. The walls were decorated with paintings and photographs, and I could feel the opulence of the place.

Sarah and Emily showed me to my room, which was large and had an ensuite bathroom. The room was decorated in soft pastel colors, with a king-sized bed in the center, and a balcony overlooking the garden.

"We hope you find everything to your liking," Sarah said with a smile.

"Yes, thank you," I said, feeling grateful for their hospitality.

As they left, I sat down on the bed, in awe.The mansion was something out of a fairy tale, and I couldn't believe that I was actually staying there.

But as I looked around, I noticed that Ashton was nowhere to be found. I wondered where he could be, and why he hadn't come to greet me himself.

I made a mental note to explore the mansion much later.

Later in the evening,I slipped out of my clothes and wrapped a towel around me, walking towards the shower.

Just as I was about to turn on the water, the bathroom door flung open, and I let out a loud scream. Standing in front of me was Ashton, looking calm and collected as if he had done nothing wrong.

"What the hell, Ashton?" I yelled, my heart racing.
