Chapter 6 A TALK

MORGANA'S POV

Reece shoves me inside the alpha's room as he was commanded by the alpha.

"You better pray real hard the Alpha's in a good mood today. After that show you just pulled out there, you'll need a god on your side." Reece says scornfully before leaving me alone in the room.

Looking back on what I just did, I realize how stupid I acted. I acted on emotion and not logic and I might get killed for it. If they could punish a slave for stealing bread, I wonder what they'll do to me for interrupting the punisher.

I can't get killed now. I haven't even made any progress with my plans to overthrow the werewolves yet. If I die now, everything will be for nothing. My time as a slave, me coming to the castle, my whole life would mean nothing.

I pace around the room thinking about what I can do to make my situation better. I'm totally going to die. My plans to save the human race have been ruined by my own emotions.

I'm pacing around the room as the doors open wide, the alpha coming into view. I immediately fall to my knees in submission as he walks towards me.

He gets in front of me and I mentally prepare for the kicks and slaps I'm no doubt about to receive. Yet he just stands there, staring me down. If he's waiting for an apology, he won't get one. I'm not sorry for defending that poor girl, I'm just sorry for the consequences of my actions.

"Stand up." He commands slowly, irritation laced in his voice. He doesn't sound as angry as I expected him to be.

"Look at me." He says making me raise my head slowly to meet his gaze. He reduces the space between us by walking closer to me. I'm so small in front of him that my head doesn't even reach his chest. My neck already hurts from looking up trying to see his face. What the hell kind of nutrients does he take for him to grow his big?

He stares down at me with his dark eyes. He doesn't even look angry, just curious.

"No slave has ever attempted what you did out there." He states. "You will not repeat it again."

I say nothing as I keep staring at him waiting for a slap, but he does nothing.

He didn't do anything while that girl was being punished. While she was being flogged like an animal. He just stood there and watched even though he had the power to stop it. He didn't care.

I'm so angry at all of them. From the Beta to the punisher to this stupid alpha in front of me. I'm so angry about what they did to that poor girl. I'm angry at all the werewolves in the crowd. They were mocking her pain. I wonder if she's even still alive. I wonder if they kept whipping her after Reece dragged me out of there. God, they even stripped her naked before giving her those lashes. What kind of monsters do something like that?

"I'm expected to punish you for what you did out there. Luckily for you, I've had a change of heart. We've lost enough humans already." He gazes at the wall at his last statement.

What does he mean by that? Why does he suddenly care whether or not humans live? If we die out, he can just use the vampires as slaves. The werewolves rarely use vampires as slaves though. I've always wondered why. Maybe it's a form of precaution or the fact that the sunlight burns them.

Maybe they're scared of the vampires since they were once stronger but then the vampires are weaker now due to the little amount of blood they get since they got defeated by the werewolves. So why are there more human slaves than vampire slaves.

In fact, I hardly ever spotted vampires while I was at the slavery organization. They were always so isolated. And if they aren't been used as slaves as much as humans despite the fact that they are under the werewolf rule, then what the hell are they being used for.

Construction? I think.

No. They can't go out in the sun.

What is the werewolf nation doing with all those vampires they captured? Another thing I'll have to find out during my time here.

"Are your wounds healing properly?" The alpha suddenly blurts out the most unexpected question.

"Yes master." I reply, slightly lowering my gaze. God, this man is basically a giant. My neck hurts.

He grabs my head scanning my neck area, then he spins me around examining the exposed parts of my skin. I hate the way his hands feel on my skin. It makes me want to puke.

"Good. You should look a bit more decent in a few days." He states as he walks backwards away from me.

"I'm not hungry so don't bother getting me lunch." He says.

He takes off his cloak and shirt revealing his bare chest and abdomen as he falls to his back in bed. I'm conflicted.

Why isn't he being cruel like the first time I met him? I need him to hit me, to say mean things to me like he did before. I need him to fuel my anger. I need him to give me more reasons to hate him.

I walk to my cage sitting on my bed as I stare at the big room.

"Tell me about yourself pet. I'm bored." The alpha says from his bed.

What the hell? Why does he want to make small talk with me? I have no interest in talking to him, least of all tell him anything about my personal life.

Noticing my silence he lifts himself off his bed and grabs a chair. He places it in front of my cage and takes a seat in front of me.

"If I have to ask again, it won't me pretty."

I can tell he's holding himself back from using his hands on me. The first day I met him, he didn't hesitate to slap me for not bowing. He says he doesn't want to lose anymore humans, that means he can't hurt me anymore even if he wants to. The only thing he can use on me now are his words.

A weakness I plan on exploiting later. For now, I will not overstep. I'll give him what he wants. I'll tell him my story.
