Chapter 5 THE LEGEND OF THE BLUE WOLF

"Ree, it's really late. You better have a justifiable reason for calling this late" Phoebe said over a video call as she dried her hair with a blower

"I think Kayla has a boyfriend!" he said excitedly

"Are you crazy? She half snapped and picked up her phone as she sat on her bed "Reece! You dropped over 7 voicemails telling me to call you and now you interrupt and distort my time for skincare just to tell me something utterly impossible! I'm hanging up

"What? Wait. No no, don't hang up" he said as she hung up immediately

"ASS!" she said as she threw her phone on the bed and stood up but his call came in almost immediately. She groaned loudly and picked his call again"

"What!?"

"Phoebe, just listen to me. Remember Kayla was meant to get her car after her practice with her dad?"

"I don't see how that gave her a boyfriend"

"Well, I received a call, few minutes after she told me she was going to get her car and I picked up but it wasn't Kayla. It was a guy"

"Oh my goodness Ree! Cant some rando use my phone, maybe he stole it."

"That's what I thought at first but then he asked for her house address!

"What? Please tell me you didn't tell him?"

"I did but that's not the point-"

"You what! Good lord Reece Alejandro! What if he's a stalker that suspects she hasn't had her first turn yet and wants to get evidence to have her exiled from the pack or better still, Ava! I can't believe you did this. She will so kill you when she finds out and its you're fault.

"She was in danger Phoebe!

"How do you know that huh, did you see her? Did you hear from her?"

"No"

"Some random guy just calls you with her phone and tells you Kayla, our Kayla that we know can't heal is in danger. He calls you instead of contacting a guard or any Beta. He calls you to tell you our friend is in danger and you should give him her house address? Not a hospital or any clinic or not any guard station, her house! And you gave him her address without going to check up on her and you have the freaking guts to call me to tell me that she has a boyfriend?"

"I'll head to her place now to check if she's home,"

"just pray she's okay, I'll be on my way too." She said and hung up.

"What happened to her? Ava asked with a bit of concern

"We really don't know. We just found her at the door passed out; I really hope she isn't drunk

"Jeez dad, she doesn't reek. Anyways, I need to call Jayden to ask why he left so hastily. Do you think the Alpha was in danger?

"I have no Idea but I think that's probably a good idea" her mum said as she walked up with her face back to the normal icy state

His call kept going to voicemail and she became really concerned. She went back to the house and paced around. She hated it that her parents were busy trying to resuscitate Kayla and not calm her down

She tried using the landline to call him but it still went to voicemail

She was really worried but seeing that her parents were busy with Kayla, she took her mum's car and decided to drive to the castle even though she knew she hasn't mastered driving yet.

It was really late and Alan was already making his bed so he can go to rest when he heard some argument outside his door and shortly afterwards, a guard came in to inform him that Jayden was there to see him

"Sure, send him in." he said and Jayden came in

"Jayden! What brings you here by this time of the night?

"It's about the Alpha."

"Okay, why don't you have a beauty sleep first and well talk about it over a drink tomorrow" Alan said but he hesitated

"No, let's talk now." He said as he grabbed a chair while Alan sat opposite him. He poured a wine from his mug to the stainless cups in front of him and gave it to him. He took a large gulp and turned to him.

"What calls for this late night meeting?"

"Damon, his mate isn't a wolf"

"I knew something was up." Alan said with a slight smile

"That's not all, she's a witch, a powerful one at that and if somehow her wolf emerges, she'll become too powerful that would make his wolf also powerful. He would be undefeatable. And there goes my chance to being the Alpha."

"I'll handle this, you need to calm down." Alan said as his smile crept off his lips

"How do you mean you would handle this? I have his bite; I have managed to sway my way into deceiving Ava's wolf so I can be close to her family. If he didn't go to that stupid school, we would have had more time to get rid of her before he finds out he has a mate and now, every time he even thinks of her his wolf gets more powerful"

"Yeah Jayden, I know. That's why I just had to tell him that day."

"We have to fix this, were so close to kill him without anyone suspecting, I can't have same teenage wolf less witch stop me." He said with rage

"What do you have in mind Jay?"

"Calm down Phoebe, She's not going anywhere"

"Can you just shut up Reece! Her car is still in school, the same car you said she was going to get." Phoebe said as her hands shook on the steer wheel

"This confirms it then, she was actually in danger" Reece said

"And that's a good thing?" She said turning to him

"This is Kayla were talking about, Kayla McCall. Our wolfless friend.

"No, she can't afford to be in danger." Phoebe said while increasing her speed

"Okay, at least slow down babe, we need to get there in one piece "Reece said as he clanged unto his seatbelts

"Oh God! Can you be more self-centered because-" They were interrupted by a distant light that flashed into their eyes

"Slow down Phoebe!" Reece yelled

"I'm trying! It's not working, just hold it still" She said trying to swerve away from the road

"Oh no, the other driver is also on an insane speed, you can't do that Phoebe! Don't." He yelled out while she swerved when the cars were inches away from each other and Ava's car went straight to the sloppy area and summersaulted and stayed in that hanging position while it seemed like she fainted. Phoebe on the other hand crashed into a tree while she banged her head on the steer wheel and Reece's on the dashboard.
