Chapter 3 My Future Wife

After his work, Jarvis returned to the hospital to see the runaway bride he had helped yesterday.

But when he entered the ward, he found that the bed was neat and clean. It was as if that woman had left for a long time.

At this moment, a nurse passed by the ward. Jarvis stopped her and said, "Hello, miss. Where is the patient in this ward?"

The nurse replied, "You mean Natalie Rivera? She left early this morning. But she said if someone comes and looks for her, I'll just give this note to that person."

As she spoke, she took out a piece of paper from her pocket and handed it to Jarvis.

Jarvis raised his eyebrows while taking the note from the nurse. And when he saw the phone number written on there, a playful smile appeared on his face.

Yesterday was supposed to be his wedding with Natalie Rivera. But he felt bored and didn't want to play nice with his family who harbored malicious intentions, so he drove around randomly. Unexpectedly, he met his bride on the road, who asked him for help pitifully.

He never meddled in other people's business. But this time, he somehow felt pity for the woman when he saw her in a mess.

He did not only save her but also took her to the hospital in person and arranged everything well.

He didn't expect the woman would leave without saying goodbye.

"Jarvis, the Rivera family is playing with fire. How dare they offend you like this? Are you really going to let them go just like that? Besides, your bride has run away. Are you still in the mood to care for a stranger in the hospital?" Lamont Henderson, Jarvis's good friend, nagged as he trotted behind Jarvis after parking the car.

Jarvis glared at him. "I asked you to keep an eye on this woman. But you couldn't even do such an easy task. Why do you have time to worry about my business?"

"Jarvis, you are being unreasonable," Lamont cried out aggrievedly. "That woman is a living person. What can I do to her? Tie her up to prevent her from running away? Besides, you just picked that woman on the road. She is not your bride. Why do you care so much about her?"

Jarvis glanced at Lamont speechlessly. Then he walked away, totally ignoring Lamont.

Lamont didn't know that the woman who ran away under his nose was Jarvis' bride.

"Hey, Jarvis, where are you going? Your wife married that brat from the O'Brien family. How can you not do anything?" Lamont protested as he hurriedly caught up with Jarvis, who was getting farther and farther.

He was really surprised. This was not the Jarvis he knew.

No man in the world would let go those who stole his wife or killed his father.

"Stop talking nonsense. Go inform my grandfather that I have called off the wedding. Tell him not to make things difficult for the Rivera family."

Lamont's eyes widened in disbelief. "Jarvis, what do you have in mind?" He was confused, not knowing what Jarvis was thinking.

"You don't need to know." Jarvis then changed the topic. "After you finish it, prepare a cheap car for me."

Lamont was even more confused. "What are you going to do with the cheap car?"

Jarvis smiled playfully. "Pursue my future wife."

Natalie was still in La Lune, having a fight with Alisha. And she had the upper hand at the moment.

She rode on Alisha and was about to give Alisha a heavy slap across the face. But the phone in her pocket rang.

Natalie took it out and answered it without even checking who was calling.

A familiar, pleasant male voice came from the other end of the line. "Where are you now?"

"La Lune," Natalie replied subconsciously.

"Come to the door of the restaurant after ten minutes. I want to talk to you about what happened last night."

The man then hung up the phone without waiting for Natalie to respond. Natalie held the phone in a daze. She finally remembered who the man was.

She got up from Alisha, looked down at the latter's swollen face, and sneered, "It seems that Rowley doesn't take you seriously at all. Alisha, don't forget that things obtained through deception don't last for long."

Alisha went mad and shouted angrily, "Natalie, you lunatic! This isn't the end. I swear, I won't let you go!"

"Sure. I will wait and see." Natalie straightened her clothes and walked toward the door.

She and Alisha had been holding grudges against each other for so many years. So what happened yesterday was not the only grudge between them.

This fight made now made Natalie feel much better.

She was sad not because she was set up by Flora and Alisha.

What happened last night didn't make her very angry either.

The most unforgivable thing in her heart was Rowley's betrayal.

She had been looking forward to marrying him. However, he abandoned her for power and suddenly became her brother-in-law.

The loved she valued a lot meant nothing in his eyes.

Natalie was still under the influence of alcohol, so she felt dizzy. She sat on the ground and waited for the man who had called her just now.

After a while, a car stopped in front of her.

Natalie was too drunk. As soon as she saw the car, she opened the door, lay in the seat, and rambled nonstop.

Jarvis looked at Natalie lying in the back seat, and the corner of his mouth twitched. But there was a rare trace of tenderness in his eyes.

"Thank you for saving me last night. My stepmother tricked me into marrying a lame and dying man. No way! I would never marry him. Fortunately, you saved me. Thank you very much," Natalie said, half-drunk and half-sober.

What did she say? She would never marry him?

Jarvis couldn't help smiling playfully when he heard this.
