Chapter 4

Adelie POV

Silence assumes the air as I drive down the road. It feels so awkward driving with Asher, and I can't help but look forward to dropping him off soon.

"Why did you put up that attitude back there," He breaks the silence, and I have to glance at him, because if he's not out of his mind, he wouldn't ask me such stupid question, knowing the reason behind my action.

"I'm talking to you, Adelie. Why did you..."

"Because I want nothing but to stay miles away from you, Asher. You are a devil, and I do no want to have anything to do with you," I yell at him as I park at the corner of the road.

"A devil? That sounds really nice, you know?" I thought he was going to be touched by my harsh words, but he seems less affected, and this is driving me crazy. Why the hell do I have to be sibling with this bastard?

"Do you think this is a joke?" I scoff, and he shrugs.

"I know you're serious. What were you expecting me to do? Slap you? Or start crying that my little woman just called me a devil?" My heart misses a beat at the word 'my little woman'.

"Come on, I can't do that. Come here, sweetheart," He suddenly pulls me close by the back of my neck, and no matter how much I try to push him away, he doesn't succumb.

He stares intently into my eyes as he rubs his nose against mine, and I feel spark within me as my heart pick race. I gulp down nothing as I foolishly long for his lips. Yes, this is wrong, but I can't deny this wants that always consumes me when our body touches.

"How about this, hmm?" He hushes as he slowly claim my lips, kissing me slowly and making sure that he teases my tongue until I can't take it anymore and give in to the intense kiss.

"Yes, I'm a devil, Adelie..." He hushes against my lips and continue to kiss me.

"A devil you're trying to fight your desire against... A monster you wants to stay away from, but still feels drawn to. That is who I am," He finally pulls away from the kiss, and whispers in my ear, his warm breath fanning the nape of my neck.

"Asher..." My resistance instead came out in moans of pleasure.

"That's it... That is what I do to you, Adelie. Stop trying to fight your desire. Don't hold back, because you are mine," Whatever charm he is using on me is working magic as I feel my eyes slowly going close, the area between my thighs tightening and craving for his touch. I know this is wrong, but he's fucking driving me crazy.

I gasp sharply when I feel his hand crawling up my thigh and beneath the short suit skirt I'm wearing. His hand finally reach the place I have been longing him to touch, but his chuckles pulls me back to my sense, and I quickly push him off me, adjusting my skirt afterward.

"Look here, Adelie... The devil made you wet down there. It's not yet time to take you, my woman, but soon. When the right time comes, you won't have to wait anymore," He winks at me as he slowly rubs his fingers together, which has my wetness in them. I turn my face away, feeling so embarrassed.

"Asher..." I call and pause, biting my lip. What can I possibly tell him?

"You want me to get out of your car? I will gladly do that, my lady," He doesn't even wait for me to finish what I was about to say before he pushes the door open and step out of the car, and I sigh in relief. Not that I had something to say, but he just did me a favor.

The knock on the window pull my attention, and I tilt my head to see him knocking on the window glass, and I have no choice but to wine it down.

"Drive safely to the office, and don't forget you're mine. You can't flirt or go out with any other man. See you later," He says before he finally walks away.

Releasing a deep breath, I throw my head on the head rest and stare into space as drops of tears slid down my cheeks.

"What did you just do, Adelie... What is wrong with you?" I grab my hair and pull it aggressively, venting all my anger and frustration on it.

After spending another five minutes at the roadside, I finally drive to the company.

I usually get to the office before Mr. Raymond does, but I guess I came late, since his car is already parked at the garage.

I check my wristwatch as soon as I step out of the car, and it's already 8:45am. All thanks to Asher, I am forty-five minutes late.

Taking a deep breath, I advance toward the entrance door, and make my way straight to the elevator which takes me to the third floor, where my office is situated.

"What happened, Adelie? You came late today," Cynthia, one of my colleagues asks me as soon as I step out of the elevator.

"I had to take care of something back at home," I lie to her, and she nods her head.

"How about your hot brother? Will he be around this weekend?" She asks with a smile dancing on her lips as we both walk down the hallway, and I roll my eyes. Well, Cynthia has been crushing on Asher since the day he came to pick me up from the office. I'm sure she won't want to have anything to do with him if she knows the horrible man he is.

"I don't know. I'll give you his number later so you can ask him by yourself," I say as I walk briskly toward the door to my office, which is just right in front of me.

"Thank you so much. I'll meet you later for it," She squeaks excitedly before she finally leaves for her office.

Standing in front of my office now, I take a deep breath before I push the door open, while having my heart running marathon in my chest.

'She's spending time with her boyfriend' recalling what Asher said to Mr. Raymond on the phone yesterday, I can only sigh knowing that I would have to apologize to Mr. Raymond later. Well, I guess Asher is going to ruin my chance of being with my boss, not that I will allow that anyway. He has done that a couple of times, and I won't allow that happen again.

I finally push the door open, but I freeze on the spot as I collide with Mr. Raymond who was on his way out of the office. Alright, I'm in a deep mess now...
