Chapter 9 Do Not Disgrace Me

"You're no better. You seduced your sister's ex-boyfriend and still have the nerves to say this?" Laura shot back.

Ever since their childhood, her half-sister had vied with her for all that she liked. It was not a surprise that she aimed for Sean. Laura didn't expect him to agree so easily.

He pulled Leila's arm away and advised, "This is enough; people are watching. You'll soon be the female lead. This will influence your career."

Upon hearing that, Leila gave a happy smile and looked at Laura triumphantly. Laura worked so hard to write that script. If she knew that the copyright had been stolen, she would lose her temper and her mind. So what? The filming was about to start. She couldn't change anything.

Laura sneered inwardly. What kind of director dared to let her play in his drama? Wasn't he afraid of a box office disaster?

She was relieved that she didn't see Jackson in IL. When she was just about to leave, she received another message from Jackson.

She was stunned that he asked her to go to the safe exit, which meant he was still here.

Her palms sweated. As soon as she entered the stairwell, someone grabbed her wrist and pinned her against the wall.

"Laura, do you know who you are, eh?" Jackson grasped her wrists, caused her pain, lifted her chin with his other hand, and forced her to look at him.

Laura looked away and pouted, "Mr. Griffith, I'm already here; what else do you want from me?"

Her remark pissed Jackson. Obviously, he was waiting for her. She thought that he was idle? He could spend one hour making a lot of money.

Laura had no idea why he was mad. Apparently, he made an unreasonable request. How was it possible that she could arrive in 20 minutes?

Jackson was fuming with rage. If they were at home, he should have caught her a lesson.

He let go of her, "Come with me to buy clothes."

Laura couldn't help but roll her eyes, "You asked me to come all the way here just for this?"

Jackson abruptly clenched his fists, and his temples popped. In the end, he barked, "Shut up."

In the wheelchair, he instructed coldly, "Push me to IL."

"Oh!" Laura grudgingly pushed him out of the safe exit. Meanwhile, Leila held Sean and came out of another exit. Her cheeks were rosy, and she was lifting her shoulder strap.

"Sean, is that Laura in front of us?" Leila's eyes glittered. The shameless woman lingered at IL because her paymaster was here. She had done an investigation in the past few days but figured out nothing. It turned out her patron was this lame man.

Sean hummed irritably. Back then, she was even reluctant to hold hands with him. Now she swallowed her pride and became a mistress. Did she choose a disabled man over him?

Jackson glanced at a dress in the shopping assistant's hands and turned to Laura, "Put it on."

"It's for me?" Laura was surprised.

"Who else could it be? Me?"

Laura carried the dress excitedly. Not in her wildest dreams had she expected that this exalted boss would buy her clothes!

Jackson looked at the delighted woman with cold eyes but curled up his lips, "The family banquet will be held in three days, do not disgrace me."

She was walking on air and then disillusioned with his remark.
