Chapter 8 Seeing His Newlywed Wife with Her Ex-Boyfriend

"Mr. Griffith, are you abusing yourself?" Clark moved closer and looked at him.

"Mind your own business." Jackson barked and left. Outside the door, he received another call from Laura.

"You have 20 minutes to come to the IL brand store, or...." He answered the phone coldly, sneered, and threatened her, "There will be consequences."

Then he hung up.

Before she could protest, she heard beeps from the other end. The IL store was located in IL Mall. It would take her at least 40 minutes to get there from her current location. Worse still, during the rush hour, it might take her 20 minutes to enter the subway station alone.

Jackson sat in a padded chair at IL. The manager, the shopping assistants, and he were the only ones in the large store.

He waited impatiently for a full 30 minutes, but Laura was nowhere to be seen.

His slender fingers typed a few characters on the keyboard. He texted Laura and went out with a sullen face.

For the first time in his life, he was stood up by someone.

Laura received a message from Jackson, who told her to go wherever she liked. From the few characters, she could picture his angry face.

Jackson went around the mall slowly, but the damn woman still hadn't shown up.

Laura got off the train and bumped into Sean at the entrance of the mall.

"Laura, what are you doing here?" Pleasantly surprised at first, he soon frowned. There was a hint of disdain in his eyes.

IL Mall was a shopping heaven for rich people. They might not be dressed formally, but none would wear such shabby clothes like her.

In a simple white blouse and a pair of denim jeans, she was overshadowed by the other well-dressed women who passed by.

Laura read his mind and had heard about Leila's and his doings from Cecilia. Therefore, she certainly would not show him a nice face. Without saying a word, she bypassed the man but ran into Leila head-on.

Her half-sister was wearing a royal blue dress. Under the light, her diamond necklace glinted. She looked like a social butterfly.

She saw Laura and put on airs, "Take a look at yourself in the mirror before you come out. Will this place welcome people like you? What a disgrace!"

Laura pursed her lips, reluctant to wrestle with them. Although Jackson might have gone, at least she came, and this would make the man say fewer mean words.

Jackson found it strange to go around IL alone and decided to inspect work. Irritated by the long wait, he vented his spleen on the manager, offered lots of unnecessary advice, and asked them to rectify immediately.

Standing on the platform second floor, he was fuming with rage. From that position, he happened to see Laura falling into the arms of a man.

Laura tried to leave, but Leila grabbed her and yanked her backward. She would not let her humiliation earlier pass so easily.

Laura lost her balance and fell backward. Sean caught her from behind, and the past events resurfaced in his mind.

Ironically, this was their most intimate interaction. If Laura allowed him to touch her, he might not have cheated on her.

"Laura, you're shameless." Leila's pretty face was contorted. How dare she seduced her boyfriend right in front of her!
