Chapter 6 Having a Crush

After heaving a sigh, Joyce said, "You have fallen out with him and are no longer dependent on him, so get over the past. Oh right, Wilson doesn't know your real identity, does he?"

"I told him I'm Edith Porter. Not many people know me by this name. He won't find me out."

Emma's mother was surnamed Porter, and for a particular period, Emma was called Edith Porter.

"You'd better not take any orders recently. You said you wanted to take a vacation; go for it! I will ask someone else to deal with Thomas."

Emma was badly in need of money. However, thinking that she had just offended the low-key, mysterious young master of the Hayes Family in City Y, she swallowed, then said, "Okay then. I'll go on a holiday!"

"How much money do you need for your uncle's medical expenses? I can lend you some if you're in urgent need."

"That's fine. I've already borrowed 300,000 yuan from you. If I borrow more, I'll have to give myself to you sexually."

"Haha, you're very welcome to do that."

The two women looked at each other, laughed, then fell into silence.

Because Emma had some wine, she felt somewhat dizzy when she returned to her rented flatlet, which cost her five thousand yuan a month. Actually, the rent was no big deal for her income as a chief marriage tester. However, her uncle had stomach cancer and was having chemotherapy. Each month, the medical bills would take her a hundred thousand to two hundred thousand yuan. Emma almost spent all her income on her uncle.

Emma spent her childhood with her uncle. Marcel Taylor, Benson's second wife, hated Emma, and Mary kept bullying her and slinging mud at her. Emma's uncle felt sorry for her and thus took her with him.

It was not until Emma was fifteen that Benson took her back to the Brooks family. As to the reason, she was clueless.

Emma forced herself to stop the chaotic thoughts and lay in bed.

Somehow, she recalled the scene when Wilson put his arms around her waist. His pair of hands were broad and firm, and meanwhile, they were surprisingly freezing and indifferent.

With her eyes squinted, Emma murmured, "Do I have a crush on that man? No way, I'm in my twenties, not a teenager."

Suddenly, a bang sounded, and Emma immediately jumped off the bed.

A burglary?

Before Emma could manage to put on her shoes, a group of men in black filled her place. It then shocked her that their leader was Leon, the president of Star Space Entertainment.

"Leon, what are you doing here?" She called the man directly by his name and was not scared of the flamboyant president who had made numerous celebrities well-known.

With his brows raised, Leon said, "I admire your attitude. There are too many women flattering me, which is so annoying. If you..."

"People in the showbiz say that you're a flirtatious, narcissistic guy, and I didn't buy it. But it seems that the hearsay is real."

Leon stared at Emma's serious, proud, and pretty face with a smile, then thought to himself, "The woman looks gorgeous even when she is mad. No wonder Wilson embraced her earlier tonight, which was unusual indeed."

"Take her away!" Leon raised his hand, and the bodyguards around got prepared to take action.

Emma roared, "Don't you dare touch me! I've sent a message to my friend. If I don't call her in half an hour, she will release the news to the media. Those journalists will surely get excited to learn that you, the young master of the Hayes Family and the president of the famous Star Space Entertainment, kidnapped me."

Leon raised his brows high, saying, "That's clever. I like it."

Emma bit her bottom lip, then asked, "What the hell do you want?"
