Chapter 5 A Lady Killer

Leon was the president of Star Space Entertainment, and his girlfriends changed ceaselessly. Thus, he frequented entertainment headlines.

But Wilson was quite the opposite of his brother.

His incomparable strength and ruthless determination were well-known in the business world. However, he rarely showed up, let alone appearing in mass media.

Even if one happened to take a picture of him, they did not dare to post it. Once an ignorant rookie reporter published a photo of Wilson's side face, the poor journalist disappeared soon after the newspaper came out. Then, that issue of the paper was withdrawn from the market, and the organization shut down.

After draining two big cups of water, Emma glared at the smart, elegant woman before her and complained angrily, "You almost got me killed tonight!"

"What's the matter? What happened, my princess?"

"I had the wrong person at Jingle Restaurant tonight and failed to see Thomas!"

At the words, Joyce replied carelessly, "That's fine. We'll soon get a second chance. Why are you so mad?"

"I mistook Wilson Hayes as Thomas! If you were me, you'd become mad as well!" Emma yelled at her friend.

Joyce froze, then widened her pretty eyes open. "What? Wilson Hayes? Wilson from N.S?"

"Is there a second man in City Y who dares to call himself Wilson Hayes?" Emma gave Joyce an irritated glance, continuing, "I must have offended him by mistaking him for Thomas."

"What?" Joyce sputtered, "You offended him? How?"

"Don't give me that sympathetic look! If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have made such a mistake."

"I told you that Thomas was in a black suit with a pen before his chest, and he was quite handsome... Wait, you said you met Wilson. Did you see his face clearly? Is he a lady killer and as handsome as it's rumored?"

A lady killer?

Joyce's description of Wilson made the corners of Emma's mouth shiver. Meanwhile, a stunningly pretty face emerged in her mind. Wilson's mighty aura and standoffish yet noble vibe were indeed exciting to witness.

"Why are you silent? It seems that his handsomeness did not let you down, right?"

"I hope he doesn't find out who I am. I really cannot afford any more trouble at this moment."

Emma's words made Joyce frown. "Your father has been too cruel. He has kicked you out of the house for three years and has never given you a penny."

"Do you know what he said when I knelt in front of him and begged him to lend me one hundred thousand yuan?" Emma curled up her lips into a mocking, sad arc, continuing, "He said that I embarrassed him and was no longer his daughter. He would not give me even a penny, not to mention a hundred thousand! Also, he asked to never show up in front of him again."

"What? He was going too far! You're the young lady of the Brooks Family and his biological daughter. How could he do this to you?"

"In his eyes, only Mary Brooks is his daughter."

Emma's father was the chairman of the Q Group, and her mother died young. Naturally, some other woman wanted to occupy her mother's status.

In less than two months after Emma's mother's death, a pregnant woman married her father. Since then, the story of Cinderella tragically befell Emma.

Joyce was clear about Emma's miserable background. When she got to know Emma, the latter had lost her favorable position in the Brooks Family, and Benson Brooks, her father, supported her living loathly. Mary stole everything that used to belong to Emma, including Emma's first love.
