Chapter 10 Her Vigilance and Locked Heart

"What on earth is going on?"

From Rosy's sudden visit to her sudden departure, Old Mrs. Williams couldn't digest the conversation at all.

But one thing was verified – Rosalie was as tough as her old friend.

Having her hand half-bandaged, Rosalie finally realized that Old Mrs. William was still here.

Every time she saw those three, she would uncontrollably fly into a rage.

"She's my stepmother's daughter. My father's funeral is held today. I was driven out."

She quickened her bandaging and squeezed out a smile at Old Mrs. Williams.

But the next second, her head was pressed against the old lady's chest. If there wasn't some space, she would probably be suffocated.

"Why didn't you tell me? My poor Rosalie, you've suffered so much. It's all my fault. I should have found you earlier. But after you live in the Elegance Community, no one will dare to bully you!"

Old Mrs. Williams said furiously over Rosalie's head.

Rosalie wanted to say something, but she didn't get a chance.

"Grandma, do you want to suffocate my fiancée?"

In a daze, she heard Abel's voice and finally got some fresh air.

"Oh, I'm sorry. My little Rosalie, are you okay? I'm just too worried about you..."

Old Mrs. Williams looked Rosalie up and down with concern.

"It's too noisy."

Before his grandmother could finish her words, Abel distanced her from Rosalie.

Seeing that, John and Gavin exchanged a look. Then, each held the old lady's arm and pulled her toward the door.

"Old Mrs. Williams, the new furniture you bought two days ago has arrived from France. Just let us accompany you to have a look at it."

"Ah... No... I haven't finished my words!"

Old Mrs. Williams struggled, but in vain.

Naturally, Abel sat at the bedside and took Rosalie's half-wrapped hand.

"That sister is the one you want to investigate?"

Rosalie had given him a name, but he had just glanced at it before asking Gavin to investigate.

Subconsciously, she drew back her hand.

"As you saw."

Her vigilance made him frown slightly.

Her warmth was still left in his hands.

From the very beginning, this woman had been on the alert against all the people.

"Go to the Elegance Community tonight. Grandma has been lonely for too long."

Abel rose and walked to the French window, with his back to her.

"Don't worry. There is a doctor in the house. I'll ask people to help you change dressings on time."

Only after she tied the gauze did she look up at his back.

"I can take good care of myself, and I... I have to go to work."

She wanted to work in her father's hospital, where she might find some clues.

Her words somehow surprised him.

In this world, which woman would refuse a whole life of leisure and luxury in the Elegance Community?

But she...

"There's just a contractual relationship between us, with no conjugal obligations. Even if we do get married, your money is still yours and has nothing to do with me. I need to support myself, and that means I have to work."

Perhaps she would leave this disappointing city after all of this was over.

Her voice was calm and steady as she smiled.

Turning around in astonishment, Abel met her confident eyes and suddenly understood his grandmother's words.

"I don't want to nag, but you should believe my old friend's granddaughter is outstanding in both character and appearance! You'll definitely like her!"

"Anyway, I've arranged this marriage for you. Only she can be my granddaughter-in-law!"

Capturing Rosalie in his eyes, he smiled gladly.

"The Williams can not be bullied. This is the bottom line."

He was confident that only he could walk into this woman's locked heart.

He would melt the heavy ice and snow around it.
