Chapter 6 The Brother and Sister

For 24 years, Lorna's life had been under the close control of her parents and Jayden.

Lorna was born before the due date and suffered from severe heart disease since childhood. The doctor had asserted that she would not live to be twenty years old. Fortunately, after undergoing a heart transplant, Lorna was able to maintain healthy breathing.

She suffered from autism and depression as a child and did not want to talk to or get in touch with anyone. Her social circle was tiny, and there were no other people except her parents and Jayden. When she returned home from the operation, she began to learn oil painting at home under a tutor's guidance.

Even with her growth, her personality had become more and more stable and ordinary. There were still unalterable elements of extreme and autism in her bones. It was the first time in twenty-four years that Jayden saw Lorna show such a keen interest in the outside and establish an intimate relationship with someone.

She even sent gifts to Karen. Seriously?

She had never given gifts to their parents before. Why did she like an outsider so much?

She had no chance to make friends and never wanted to. The period she lived in the sanatorium fifteen years ago was the only blind spot for Jayden and his parents regarding Lorna's life trajectory.

Was Karen her patient friend back then?

If Karen was Lorna's friend then, why did she reappear after fifteen years? What was her purpose in approaching Lorna?

Lorna still had to see a psychologist regularly. The doctor also told Jayden to pay attention to changes in Lorna's social circle.

Therefore, Jayden had to care about his sister.

"What do you want to know?" Right after Jayden gave the order, Lorna's voice came from outside the door.

The sound of high heels then sounded, and Lorna pushed open the office door and walked in. Karen, who made Jayden suspicious, followed behind her.

Lorna did not hear Jayden's words clearly, rolled her eyes, sat on the sofa, and asked casually, "Who are you going to investigate and harm? No wonder you've hired an assistant for me. It must be because you've done too many bad deeds and worry that it will hurt me in the end."

Noah smiled politely at Lorna, and cleverly turned around to walk out of the office. He deliberately glanced at Karen and motioned for her to leave with him. Unexpectedly, Lorna pulled Karen and asked her to sit next to her.

Karen let out a faint smile, ignoring Noah's glance, and calmly sat beside Lorna.

Lorna leaned back lazily on the sofa, took off her sunglasses, and asked impatiently, "Didn't you ask me to come here to select the script? Where are the materials you've prepared?"

"Are you going to join the crew like this?" Jayden asked coldly, looking at Lorna's newly dyed purple curly hair.

This pair of brother and sister from the Spencer Family was well-known in the upper class due to their stunning appearances. Jayden was cold and handsome, while Lorna was delicate and charming.

Jayden was 1.88 meters tall. He always wore a standoffish expression on his face. People within three meters of him would feel cold, and his frosty eyes could scare the timid to death. Lorna was 1.75 meters tall and had a pair of slender, straight legs. Her features were gorgeous, and her eyes were like those of a noble cat. With her dyed wavy long hair, she was simply a peerless stunner.

However, thanks to their utterly different styles, they argued with each other every time they met, just like a creditor and a debtor.

Lorna ignored Jayden's eyes and stroked her own bangs, saying, "How is it? It looks good, right? This is Karen's favorite color. I dyed my hair this color so that she will feel happy when she looks at me."

With that, she turned her head to smile at Karen, who was stunned for a second and then returned her with a sweet smile.

Karen wondered, "Why are the brother and the sister on the verge of breaking out a fight again?"

Lorna took Karen's hand and pushed her towards Jayden. "My brother should have prepared some scripts. Pick the one you like and give it to me. We've reached an agreement that I will play which role you like."
