Chapter 7 Becoming different

After eating in the evening, Stella lay in bed, and it wasn't so uncomfortable anymore.

She thought that in a little while, her nominal parents would be returning to Shawnclud Village, and, would bring her back a sister, Alice Judd.

This sister, who was conceived by Ivy and Gary and born in the town, was different from her, they were still fond of Alice.

But this time they still left Alice in the town, after all, she was just a daughter, and parents only love son.

Stella sneered, Alice had been brainwashed by her two cousins and regarded her as an unlucky sign of the Judd family.

Stella tried to be nice to Alice and cover her shorts, but get no return.

Even later the family was going to sell her off, and Alice helped those people lie to her so that she didn't even have a chance to escape.

,

Stella curled up, in the Judd family, it was true, she didn't even have a relative.

........

Sleeping until dawn, Stella got out of bed.

Breakfast had always been her responsibility, because no one wanted to get up early, and Stella wasn't repulsed now, because no one wanted to get up early, so no one would notice even if she took a bite or two.

In her previous life, Stella was particularly stupid, doing the most work in the family, eating the least amount of food, making herself malnourished, with waxy yellow skin and sparse hair, with calluses and wounds all over her hands, incomparably miserable.

She wasn't stupid now, she deserved to eat, she didn't want to delegate herself at all.

Waiting until it was completely light, the Judd family members also mostly got up.

Life in the village was simple, working at sunrise, resting at sunset, facing the yellow soil and living off the fields all day long.

Susan didn't give Stella a good look because of what happened yesterday.

"I said Stella, you put in too much water again today? You didn't eat on the sly, did you?''

Linda's gaze sharply swept over, and Stella calmly retorted, "If aunt suspects I ate on the sly, why don't you come and do the breakfast?"

She didn't cry and whimper like she used to, instead she gave off a sense of courage.

Susan was so angry, how could this wicked girl had suddenly become so brave and smart? But she was determined not to get up early and make breakfast, so she let her head down and stopped talking.

Tim knocked on the table, "That's a lot of nonsense, eat and go to work afterwards!"

Stella was not insatiable, dutifully bowed her head to eat, which make Tim have a good opinion of her, knowing that she was not greedy.

After the meal, the men went down to the ground, the women worked, and the maidens went to collect firewood and cut grass and fetch water.

Stella was carrying a basket behind her back before she stepped out of the house when she heard someone call out to herself.

"Stella, let's go together."

She turned around to see that it was Tammy, smiling as she also carried a basket on her back and walked towards her at a fast pace.

For this person, Stella's guardedness rose steeply, "Tammy, didn't the mother let you take care of Mary at home?"

When Mary was pregnant, Tammy was able to not go to the mountains and do things at home.

"My mother is fine for now, I'll come with you to the mountains."

Tammy walked over to Stella's side and smiled unusually kindly, "Stella, how do I feel, you have become a bit different lately?"

Stella's tone remained the same, ''Is that so? What's different?"

It was very different now!

Tammy secretly thought in her heart, I just smiled and talked to her, Stella was willing to tell her anything in the past time, not now so casual and perfunctory.
