Chapter 4 Last Night

"HONEY, I'll just take you home first because I have to go somewhere now. I'm just finishing up some work."

"I'm okay with you, Mommy..." Connie caressed me. Even if I am carried away by my daughter's mercy, I cannot take my daughter with me. I might just be distracted because it's also a bit mischievous.

"Oh my daughter, not now. I'm just in a hurry, I'll just finish the work I left and then I'll go home right away. What would you like to welcome me and buy later before I go home?" I asked Connie.

So that it stops scratching. But I was surprised by the response.

"I want to see my Daddy..." he whispered while leaning forward. I was speechless at what he said. I just stared at my daughter. How can I tell her that she doesn't have a daddy? If I tell her that her daddy is dead, my conscience might suddenly haunt me. But it can't really know everything because I know the outcome won't be good.

"Baby, haven't we already talked? Ask for everything, just don't be that thing." Connie just stared sadly out the window of her car. It seems that she wants nothing more than to meet and see his daddy. I just let Connie be so sad when I took her home. What I see now hurts me, but it's not enough pain for me to tell Connie the truth that she can't see her daddy. First, she didn't know that they had a child, and second, she didn't want to have a connection with the man. But how long will I tolerate my daughter seeing her sad? Connie is a smart kid, and her brain is advanced in things. I just sighed and continued driving my car. I'll just get back to Connie tomorrow. I'll take her for a walk in the park to fix this. Or we can watch a movie. It's up to tomorrow- I stopped driving when someone suddenly hit the back of my car hard. Fortunately, I had a firm grip on the steering wheel so I didn't fall forward, I just hit my face on the steering wheel so I got a little dizzy. I'm still down due to dizziness, my vision has barely cleared. I hear a voice outside the window. It was knocking on the window while calling me.

"Miss! Miss, are you okay?" it's a repeated question. I raised my face, staring at the front of my car. People are getting a little thick because of the accident. I'm in the city, so even though it's ten o'clock at night, there are still a lot of people. Like me, they are returning home from work.

"Miss, open the door so I can help you," said the man outside my car again. Only then did I turn to him. I couldn't see his face because it was quite dark outside. That's why I decided to open the door, so the man who had been offering help immediately helped me.

"Are you all right, Miss? Don't you have any pain?" it asked me. I faced him, now my vision is quite clear. But I was stunned to see the man in front of me.

"You?" I stammered to the man.

The man was also a bit stunned, I feel like he was wondering if he knew me too. But I know his face well. I will neverthe shape and figure of this man will be forgotten. Even though we only met once and spent time together, his handsome face is imprinted in my memory.

"A...are you alright? I'll take you to the hospital." He quickly led me to his car. Not far from my car. It's good... my brain seems to be correct because I see Connie's father. I turned to my car. That's when I saw that someone crashed into the back of my car and my car was almost completely damaged. He wasn't the one who crashed into me, a drunk driver was riding there and he was almost slumped over his steering wheel. I don't know if it's okay but I hope he's okay too.

"I'll drive, you take care of it," the man ordered his companion, who I think was his personal driver. He took me to the back of the car and made me lie down there. I'm still a little dizzy, but I'm still weak. Maybe it's because I was shocked by what happened. I thought it was the end of me. Is Death coming after me? I feel that the car is moving fast. I forced myself to get up from the chair and reflected on where we were going. Maybe it's just a modus operandi, and suddenly take me somewhere.

"Don't move too much, we're close to the hospital," said the man who helped me.

His voice was familiar, I felt even more confused and confused by what I was hearing. I looked in the front mirror of the car, looking at the driver's face. But I only see with eyes. It was staring at the road while also glancing at me in the center mirror. His eyebrows are thick, and his eyes are very gentle. Suddenly, my heart beat faster as I slowly began to observe his nose and lips.

"Oh shit!" I said suddenly. I closed my eyes when I felt a sudden headache. I touched my forehead so it worried me again.

"Do you feel any pain? We are here, don't worry. You'll be fine later too." After saying this, it quickly came down. The door was opened for me to get down. The standby nurses quickly came to us and immediately took me to the emergency room.

"Sir, what happened to him?" the nurse asked Calix.

"The car he was riding in crashed," he responded quickly.

"Okay sir, how is your patient?" the nurse asked again. I looked at Calix and saw that she was also staring at me.

"Check the patient first please before you ask me questions!" Calix said a little annoyed.

"Sir, we need to know how you feel about him. So that we know if you know each other, and if not we can call his family." He stared at me again before speaking.

"She's my friend," Calix replied briefly.

Friend? When have we been friends? "What is his name?" the nurse asked again.

Calix couldn't answer the Nurse's question, which is why she helped me by looking at something meaningful.

"Camilla. Camilla Chavez..." I said.

Calix was stunned by me, maybe she remembered my name. But maybe there aren't many Camillas in the world either. I don't remember giving my last name to him when we met. I can pretend I don't know him and have never met him. A few moments later he left usThe nurse looked at me. Calix approached me and asked me.

"Are you alright? Do you feel any pain?" it asked me.

"Yes. I'm fine, I can go home now. Thank you for taking me here to the hospital. I was just a little shocked by what happened earlier, so I was almost stunned." I was about to get up to leave the hospital when it suddenly blocked my way.

"Wait. The doctor has not allowed you to go out yet. Maybe if you're on the road, you're not too good because you hit your steering wheel too hard."

"No. I'm okay, and I can take care of myself. I have to go back to my car because I have important things in there." I protest to Calix.

What does he care about me and is preventing me from leaving?

"Don't worry about your car because my driver will take care of it. The important thing now is to make sure you are safe before you leave the hospital."

"I'm fine, why are you so ugly?!" I was completely annoyed with Calix. It's like he's getting wise to me, so I couldn't help but stare.

"Owh, I'm sorry... I just want to make sure you're really okay. That's all,"

"I'm okay. I'm fine, I'm fine... am I fine? So I can leave now?" Calix did nothing but let me go.

My body was still shaking while walking because it might follow me. I don't want to have any connection with him because he might find out that we have a child and he will go see Connie. I don't want them to know each other. I do not want... After the accident, my friend Alice immediately found out what happened, so she visited me immediately the next day.

"Hey, whatever precautions you take on the road. If there are irresponsible drivers you will meet there are none. It's good that nothing bad happened to you, but poor Connie," said Alice to me.

"Nothing will happen to me because I still have many duties to do here on earth."

"Really? Like what? Hmmm..." Alice thought for a moment before raising her index finger, indicating that she had thought of an answer.

"God is perfect, he will not allow you to not finish your mission here on earth. That's why he didn't take you first."

"Huh? What mission?"

"Connie's wish-" Suddenly, Alice was stunned when someone suddenly rang the doorbell outside the house.

I was surprised because I didn't expect anyone to be my guest today so I went out to take a peek at who my new guest was.

"I'll just take a look at who it is," I said goodbye to Alice.
