Chapter 3 Last Night

IT was three in the afternoon when Calix arrived at the NAIA Terminal where the plane he boarded landed. It was a few years ago when he last saw the Philippines. He was greeted by his assistant Justin. He took his bag and carried it towards the car where it was parked right at the exit.

"How was the trip, sir?" Justin asked.

It's age is not far from Calix. The high also has elegance and stature. This is the son of their former driver who has now resigned due to old age.

"Okay, thanks for picking me up."

"Nothing sir," replied Justin.

After a few minutes, they were walking the road to Calix's house. It's also a bit far from there. There happened to be traffic that's why Calix was bored on his trip. He is constantly tapping his watch and checking the cell phone in his hand. "Can we go to the nearest Flower Shop," he said to Justin.

"Okay, sir,"

Calix went to a Flower Shop, to buy a bunch of flowers to give to the most important woman in his life. He hadn't been with her for a few years, so he was excited to go home and be with her again. Calix looked at the beautiful flowers lined up in front of the Flower Shop. Confused about what to choose, the salesperson approached him and helped him decide.

"For whom do you need it, sir? And what other occasion? They are all fresh, that's why they are beautiful and fragrant. It will be really difficult for you to choose." Friendly initial opening of the saleswoman.

Calix smiled at the shopkeeper, then the woman seemed to be attracted and lost herself when she saw her friendly smile. His dimple came out of his cheek and his teeth were white and even. Who doesn't lose themselves when you see a handsome man who smiles at you.

"Okay sir," the shopkeeper replied with a smile.

It was still staring at Calix while taking the Tulips from the bag. So Calix just shook his head, took the wallet and handed over the payment. He's used to that kind of scenario, how many women are falling over themselves just to get his attention, there's even one who tried to commit suicide if he didn't say he would court her, but it had no effect on Calix. After getting the flower that was bought, it also left the Flower Shop. The salesman was still looking at him even though he was already inside the car.

"Sir, you are that type of chix," Justin said with a smile.

"Yeh, it's too vulgar to like so quickly get such girls."

"You're right sir, it looks like you just winked there and his flag will be lowered right away." Justin said laughing.

Calix just shook her head at what Justin said. He doesn't like those kind of girls. It was a few minutes before they reached the big house that stood in a private subdivision. The big gate opened so the car continued inside until it reached the front of the house. In the distance, he could see a woman standing in front of the door. He smiled immediately and was obviously very excited to see her because his smile was so wide. It still looks the same, still beautiful and unchanged. After the car stopped, he quickly got down to meet the most important woman in his life. Carrying the Tulips, Calix quickly walked up the two stairs to immediately embrace the woman who had been waiting for him.

"Calyx! My dear child... it's good that you're home, you've been gone for so long."

"I missed you, Mom." Calix hugged her mother tightly. It was tears of joy. It was also a few years ago that Calix left their house and settled in another country to fix himself. Even though his mother did not want him to leave because he was alone, he did nothing but let his son fulfill his dream of standing on his own feet. Now, Calix is ​​very different, a professional business man and he is ready to face the positions left by his late father.

"Thank you for the flower son, it's very beautiful you bought it." His mother spoke kindly after reaching the flower. Calix put his arms around his mother and invited her to enter the house.

"It's like nothing has changed here, it's still the same."

"Yes son, you know I don't want to change everything here. Every corner of this house has happy memories of your father and me, so I don't want to change the design of the house. How are you doing in the States? Do you have a girlfriend there son?"

Calix suddenly laughed at her mother's question.

"I had many girlfriends there, Ma. Which of them do you want to meet?" Calix joked to his mother.

"What are you doing, son. Are you still playing with women until now? Don't be like that, because it's bad to play a girl. You too, maybe it will be hard for you to find the girl who is meant for you."

"Ha-ha-ha. It's you, Ma. If the girl you are talking about is destined. And there's nothing to stop it, so it's destiny, isn't it?" he said while laughing out loud.

His mother just shook her head at Calix's response.

"Well, let's eat first. I prepared your favorite dishes. You've lost a bit of weight, maybe you don't eat there, right? I guess you're letting yourself go there, son."

"I really missed the cuisine here in the Philippines, Ma. I kind of got used to not eating sometimes."

"That's what I'm saying, that's why I seem to have noticed that you've lost weight. So come on, increase your food so that you can regain the fat you lost in your body. I'm not used to you not having a bubble in your stomach."

"Ha-ha-ha. Mom, really! When did I talk about abs in my stomach?"

"What abs are there? I think that's a bone that came out of your stomach." Calix laughed even more at what her mother said.

The bonding between the two of them is really fun. That's why they are very close mother and daughter.

"Mom, I will visit Papa's grave tomorrow. I want to tell him that I am ready to face everything. I will prove to him that I am useful now."

"Alright, Son. I will join you tomorrow. I know your father will be happy wherever he is now."

A few years ago, Calix was called by his father almost every day. Calix is ​​very close to the gang, he doesn't want to take the job his father gives him seriously. He is the only child so who will manage their business? No one but him. Calix can be found in expensive bars almost every night. Who knows who and the woman will change it. No Calix was the one who approached the girl, but the girls insisted on being her boyfriend. Because of what he was doing, his father almost gave up on him. Until one day his father died, due to his chronic illness. It turned out that he had cancer, and it was bad before he knew it. Calix regrets what he did to his father. It turns out that he has a disease, but he doesn't say it. He was forced to try the company to manage. But the first time he gave up immediately. He is not really ready to follow in his Papa's footsteps. He feels that the company will fall on him if he continues like that. That's why when Calix's father died, he decided to study again in the States. After finishing, he trained properly until he became a professional. Today is the day he will face everything. And he is excited about that.

The next day, after visiting his father's grave, he went to the office where he will start his first day working in his father's own company. There was his Uncle who succeeded him first.

"It's good that you're back, Calix. Are you ready?" asked his Uncle Harold.

This is his mother's brother, which is why Calix's family distrusted Harold. He has been working for the company for several years so he knows everything. It became his father's left hand, so it was well honed.

"Thank you, Uncle. Yes, I'm ready!" Harold smiled before nodding.

"Let's go inside the conference room, everyone is waiting for you."

This is the day Calix will face his duty. So the entire staff had a meeting to announce his return. Not as the son of their old boss, but their new boss. Almost everyone stopped when Calix entered the door. They were amazed at the new Calix. He became even more handsome and his body became even more curvaceous. Calix is ​​not really thin. The truth is that her body is very beautiful. It's like a model, or it even surpasses the actor who stretches his body in the gym. Almost all the female employees were stunned and mesmerized by the handsomeness of their boss. Someone even dared to ask if he had a girlfriend. Calix answered the question seriously and when he said no, the girls stopped. Harold just laughed and shook his head because of the behavior of all the employees. When they left the conference room, Harold immediately reminded him.

"Maybe one day I will find out that all our employees have become your exes, Calix. Be matured, don't hit them if you can..." he said, still laughing as he was reminded.

"Don't worry, Uncle. They are safe with me, I'm not eager for girls. What I want in a woman is the one I torture."
