Baby come on we are going to be late. I know that this moment is gushy and all that and I sincerely apologize for cutting this emotional moment short but if all become too emotional, then Alexis will be late for her first high school assembly and Donny you of all people should know that it's not a good thing to be late for the school assembly and that on your first day". Mr. Raymond said cutting short the emotional moment.
" Don't worry baby when you come back for your mid-semester break we will all be here". Donny said as he played with her hair. Alexis could swear at that moment that she saw tears in his eyes but she knew her brother. He would deny it saying that something probably entered his eyes and he was trying to remove it. Granny, poppa and aunt Emma were already crying. Aunt Emma was dabbing her eyes with her handkerchief and was still sobbing. She stared at them smiling sadly as she waved them goodbye for the last time. They would miss her and she would miss them too. She got into the back seat of the car while wiping her teary eyes. She noticed her mother wiping her eyes repeatedly while sniffing. She still wondered how she would be able to live without her most favorite people in the world.
The drive to school was so quiet. Everyone was trying not to cry.
Finally they got to the school, she smiled sadly at her parents as she stepped down from the car. Her parents came down too. They helped her bring down her box from the booth of the car. When it was finally time to depart, it was obvious that none of them wanted to leave. They just stood there staring at each other until her father broke the ice.
" As much as we would love to stand here and stare, baby you have an assembly to attend and you don't wanna be late right?". Alexis nodded her head slowly and turned to go.
" Seriously are you really going to leave without a goodbye hug?". Her mother's voice made her stop on her track. She smiled sadly as she ran back to hug her mother crying softly in her arms.
" I'm really going to miss you mummy". She purred.
" And I will also miss my baby girl too". Her mother replied trying hard to cry. She didn't want this to turn to another crying session. After she had hugged her mother for a while, she turned and hugged her father.
" Daddy I am going to miss you too very much".
" Of course Daddy is going to miss his favorite daughter but he knows that she is the strongest girl in the world and will be able to survive without him". Mr. Raymond said making Alexus and her mother laugh through tears.
" Don't forget that you are the best at what you do and nobody is going to make you feel less than that without your permission okay". Her mother said as she stopped hugging her father.
" Now put a smile on that beautiful face and give momma a huge kiss". Aleus laughed and kissed both her parents with her dad ruffling her hair.
" Dad come on, stop ruffling my hair already I'm all grown up".
" Yeah you are all grown up but you will continue to be daddy's little girl okay love ". Her father said ruffling her hair once again while she just shook her head and laughed. She stepped back and looked at her family once more.
"Baby are you sure you don't need a hand?". Her mother asked worriedly as she stared at her bags.
" Come on mother I don't. I can do it on my own and besides you guys need to make it back on time for your shift. Love you muah muah". She smacked her lips making kissing sounds.
" We love you too baby girl muah". Her mother replied with the same gesture. They both waved at her as she waved back at them.
They watched her as she turned to go inside the school.
" Come on babe, I'm sure she can handle herself". Mr. Raymond said as he pulled his wife to his side rubbing her arm soothingly.
" I know but I can't seem to believe our baby girl is going to stay there without us by her side for a long time".
" I know right? Now let's get going we don't wanna get you late for work right?".
" Alexus stared at the huge banner that read, ' Emerald Academy, the school for only the exceptional'. She smiled happily. Finally she was here at her dream school. The most prestigious school in the country. The school was so big and beautiful. She dragged her bags inside as she wowed at the beautiful environment of the school.
