Chapter 8 Her Signature

"Maya, what have you decided to do?" King asked and she placed the papers down, and then walked away.

Immediately, King grabbed the door handle and his hand landed on hers. At the same time, a knock came at the door. He released his hand and Maya opened it to find Louis at the entrance.

"Excuse me, ma'am, the lawyer said he doesn't have enough time to spend and that you should be fast with the signing."

"I would leave now," he announced and then left and King closed the door.

"Do you intend to waste the lawyer's time?" Raphael questioned rudely, then leaned his leg against the door.

Maya snubbed, she walked to bed, sat and concentrated solely on the papers in her hand.

"Maya, I've got a lot of things to do, could you just sign the papers and hand them over?" He retorted as he stretched his hand forward.

Maya confidently raised her head to catch a glimpse of him. "Who begged you to stay? I am not forcing you, am I?"

He smirked, "you begged me to stay, so hurry up."

She pointed to the table, "fine, could you please take the pen on the table for me?"

"Help yourself, I am not your servant." He said arrogantly.

"Don't be too certain, I will decide after I put my signature on this paper. Only then you will know where you belong."

She took the pen and without a second introspection, she scribbled her signature against her name.

She left it on the bed, "here you go, you may have it."

"Good, enjoy the rest of your evening Mrs. Leone." He remarked sarcastically with a nod and then opened the door to leave.

"Mrs. Leone...?" She kept thinking as she threw both hands to cover her face.

A knock came at the door, "you may enter, the door is open," Hayat entered.

She sat up in bed, "what is it, Hayat?"

"Ma'am, please dinner has been served, Sir is waiting for you." She replied with hands behind her.

"Thank you, I will be there soon enough."

She walked towards the door but halted in her tracks.

"You missed breakfast and lunch, please come and eat, I don't want to loose my job."

She nodded and scooted out if bed while Hayat departed.

She changed into a casual black dress which fitted from her waist leading to her knees. From her knees down was flared with a cut up to my mid-thigh. She opted for a pair of Egyptian blue silhouette heels to match.

As she walked down the stairs, she halted in her tracks to take a good look at the man who sat at the dining table.

"Oh good God? How can a person be this good looking, he is so beautiful, I hardly even noticed ever since I've been in this house." She thought as she took a step.

He looked elegant in a black shirt and suit. Three buttons of the shirt were opened, giving a view of his hairy upper chest.

He was seated in a cozy position with his hands clasped together on the table. He kept his eyes glued to Maya, maybe he was also mesmerized by Maya's extraordinary beauty.

Though Maya could not divert her gaze from his, she couldn't look him directly in the eyes to determine the color. This was actually the first time she had looked at a man for such a long time, she was ewe struck.

He opened his mouth but didn't speak. "Could he be doing it on purpose?" She questioned her inner goddess.

Just the mere sight of his lips could make you sin, and as of then, Maya was a certified sinner.

"Maya!" Her called to interrupt her thoughts.

"Pull yourself together, Maya! They are all the same. And you are even his boss's wife." Her inner goddess scolded.

He held the ends of his collar and moistured his lips by his tongue seductively.

"Maya," He called again, "am I going to wait here like that and be watching you stare at me in that lustful manner?"

He smirked purposely, "Maya, I can't keep on waiting, I don't have the whole evening."

Maya finally came to her senses and walked to the table. As much as possible, she tried not to look affected by his presence.

Maya fixed her eyes on the plate of potato, cheese plus beans. "Why are you still watching me instead of eating?"

Maya asked as she could feel his gaze centered on her.

"Oh really? You watched me for a whole hour, did I complain?

He swallowed the piece of food in his mouth, "why would I even complain, I am used to girls watching me."

Maya face flushed with chaste embarrassment. "Raphael, can we just eat in silence?"

His mouth twitched, but he did not divulge his anger. He looked her through his thick long lashes, "is it that you don't want to talk about this topic or you just want to eat in silence?"

"I want to eat in silence so please pipe down."

They ate in silence and in less than 20 minutes, he placed his fork down and got up, ready to depart.

Maya swallowed and elevated her head to glare at him "Are you done?"

"As you can see, Maya! See you later or tomorrow."

"Are you going somewhere?" Maya's statement stopped him as he took a step.

The old King was on fire, he was already angered by her questions. He faced her and replied.

"What do you care about? Why do you want to know? It's none of your business."

Maya placed her fork down and wiped her mouth with the napkin.

"I just asked a simple question, can you answer and stop being stubborn?"

He stepped closer, and jammed his hands into his pockets. "Maya, I don't like giving answers so can you stop questioning me?"

Well it seemed like Maya never leaned, she got closer and raised her voice at King.

"Does it look like I care about your likes? Can't you just be humble and tell me where you are going?"

"Can't you also just mind your business and go to your room?"

She looked away and then back to him with a smile.

"I guess your brain is not even working, you are my husband's employee and automatically, you are mine also. It should tell you that you are my business."

"Ma'am..." Hayat called with a fearful tone.

Maya shrugged, "what? Doesn't he deserve it?" His brows narrowed.

"He is too arrogant, and someone has to show him his place in this house," she said to Hayat who looked at her nervously.

Hayat didn't answer, Maya turned to look at him and "holy shit!" She cursed, he looked like a volcano ready to erupt.

Maya maintained eye contact with, she managed two steps back as he clenched his fist. Within a second, he moved forward and hit the table.

Though the table was too strong to break, some of the glasses fell and eventually got broken.

Maya didn't even realize how she got down on her knees. She sobbed and trembled with fear. "What have I done? Hayat spoke about his anger issues but I didn't pay heed." She thought while she made a steeple of her fingers as she didn't dare look at at his fierce face.

As Hayat helped her up, she did not see him again she held her dress and then flounced to her room.

"Should I beg for forgiveness, will he forgive me? Why should I even do that? Who wants to be forgiven? He's arrogant too," She contemplated, as she nervously leaned her head against the door.

More slowly, she moved to lay in the bed.

Hayat entered with a glass of water.

She placed the water on the bedside table. "Here you go, this will calm you down a little."

"Well, thank you. Did you send him water too?"

Hayat sighed, "no, when he's angry, he doesn't want anyone around him."

She hummed, "is that so?" She asked with regret.

She nodded, "yes." .

Maya sat up, "so what now?"

"I can tell, I have never seen him this angry."

"Does he have a girlfriend?"

"I don't know ma'am, he always comes home with different women."

"And what does the King say?" I asked with eager interest.

"I don't know, I don't listen to their conversation." Hayat said and then blinked a few times.

"Yes... yes, you are right, I am sorry," she said with an apologetic look and smiled.

"Don't worry about it, I will see you tomorrow. Have a good night." She said and vacated the room.

She went to the shower to take a cold bath, when she returned, Raphael was standing at the doorway.

"You look charming and tempting wrapped in towel," he commented as he moved towards her direction with his lips slightly parted seductively.

He cupped her cheeks and she blushed scarlet. Slowly and teasingly, he bent over, licked his lips then flung his hands around her waist, and forced her closer to him.

"Look up at me," a sharp breathe escaped her lips as his actions sent an exhilarating shiver down her spine.

And once more he bit his lower lip, Maya couldn't help herself but swallowed hard repeatedly.

He leaned down and gazed intently at her lips, his eyes burnt with passionate desire. She just closed her eyes, kept her hands on his firm shoulders, and anticipated what was to come.

After about a minute of waiting, Maya begged him to kiss her.

"Really, are you serious? Do you really want to kiss your husband's worker?" He asked, then twitched his lips in a sardonic smile.

She narrowed her brows, "you know I abhor him very much, I didn't even take wedding vows. Don't pay attention to our marriage. Just kiss me please."

He grinned, looked into her piercing blue eyes.

"Beg me more, plead for me to kiss you."

"Please Raph! Kiss me, don't stop..."
