Chapter 7 He Betrayed Her First

Belinda didn't go back home to the Lindfield family.

Three years ago, she had insisted on marrying Russell. Now, she realized how stupid she was.

She felt bad for her father and brothers, all of whom cherished her so much.

Furthermore, she was too ashamed to face them at the moment.

All she wanted right now was to be alone to gather her bearings.

In the end, Calvin took her to his place, where she locked herself up in the guest bedroom.

She sat down in front of her computer and thought about what she had seen at the hospital just now.

Russell and she hadn't even divorced yet!

He was still her husband! Hers!

But he was already so intimate with another woman! In a public place even! And this wasn't the first time he had humiliated her like that...

Russell Kameron!

He was the one who betrayed their marriage first! Thus, Belinda made up her mind to make him pay.

Belinda turned on the computer and logged into Twitter, which she had deserted a while back. Among the dozens of private messages, many celebrity acquaintances had been asking about how she was doing lately.

Belinda sifted through their messages and replied to some of them.

Just then, there was a knock at the door. Belinda opened it, and Calvin stepped inside with a bright smile.

"A couple of friends want to get together tonight. Would you like to join us?"

To socialize? Right now? Absolutely no way!

Without hesitation, Belinda shook her head profusely. "No, thanks. I'm a little tired. I'll go to bed early."

Besides, she had to go through the divorce process with Russell first thing in the morning, so she didn't feel like socializing.

As soon as Calvin left, Belinda sank into bed. She hadn't been able to get proper sleep for several days now, so before long, she was fast asleep.

The following morning, Belinda woke up at the crack of dawn.

She climbed out of bed and stood in front of the French windows, watching quietly as the sun slowly rose on the horizon. She felt much better today.

Belinda had finally thought it through and made up her mind.

Nothing good would come out of her marriage if her husband didn't even care about her, so it had to be ended.

It was the right thing to do.

And she felt kind of relieved.

However, she wasn't going to let anyone or anything ruin her good name, which was why she asked for the divorce so resolutely. Afterwards, she would seek justice for herself.

After checking the time, she turned around and went to the bathroom to get ready. She chose a pastel blue suit Calvin had bought for her, which made her look fresh and dapper.

She arrived at the courthouse at eight o'clock sharp.

However, Russell was nowhere to be seen.

Half an hour passed, and still there was no sign of him.

Finally, Belinda ran out of patience and dialed Russell's number.

"I've been waiting for over half an hour now. Where are you?"

On the other end of the line, Russell was stunned.

It turned out that Belinda was serious about the divorce.

"I'll be there soon." Gritting his teeth, Russell hung up on her angrily.

He was still with Cassidy in the hospital, which wasn't far from the courthouse. It only took him a few minutes to get there.

When he saw the dazzling Belinda in the distance, Russell couldn't help but frown.

He had never noticed Belinda's beauty before.

She looked fresh yet refined, like an untouchable work of art that people could only look at from a distance.

However, this sentiment disappeared as quickly as it came.

"Are you sure you want a divorce?" he asked grimly.

Belinda started to say, "I want to—"

"I've got work to do. If that's what you want, let's get it done as soon as possible." Russell cut her off impatiently.

Belinda smiled bitterly and said nothing more.

She laughed at herself for being so naive. Even until the last moment, she still clung to a small hope that Russell would try to save this relationship.

But her hopes were instantly dashed against the rocks. Swallowing her sadness, Belinda put on a sarcastic smile and said lightly, "I know you're busy, Mr. Kameron. Don't worry. This won't take too long."

For some reason, her sunny disposition infuriated Russell.

He hated it when people addressed him so sarcastically.

And his wife was never like this before!

She was always gentle and obedient like a lamb. She never did anything against his will!

But now...

The new Belinda made him sick to his core!
