Chapter 5 Kristine: the forgotten heiress

Kristine's POV

I didn't expect that she would come tonight and ruin Sebastian's big day. But for some reason, I am enjoying the commotion. At least someone will expose one of their dirty little secrets.

They deserve such humiliation from these plastic acquaintances who attend the party. My sister-in-law looks pale because of this scene.

"Honey, you should send this woman off. Our friends were buzzing about her scandalous claims. Please!" she says.

"Now I know why.. hah! But, as she stated, there is no need. Plus, you should speak to your future son-in-law. He even has the face to accuse his ex-wife in public. Is he even a man?" he says.

Raphael Avrich is a multimillionaire who has $987.9 million in assets and liabilities. Just a few steps away, and he'll be a billionaire. But I know the real reason for the hatred in his eyes.

"You're just a gatecrasher here, so shut up! Wait, you should also leave. Guards, pick her and this bastard. Kick them away or send them to the police station!" Nathalie roared at them. I sighed.

I stepped up, and Belinda followed me. I got in between them because I saw that they were serious. I raise the other side of my dress, which doesn't have a slit. There's a revolver on it, and I made a warning shot.

The security guards were surprised and raised their guns on me. Belinda and I pointed our guns in opposite directions. Those bastards screamed because of what I did. Sebastian looks pissed.

"Pick her, and if she still fights, then shoot her!" he says. I laugh.

"What are you doing? Put the gun down," he says.

But I didn't listen to him. He suddenly stood in front of me as if he were protecting me. I was surprised. How can Nathalie fall for this bastard when she has this man who is gentle and caring?

"Come on, Sebastian. I mean my big brother, my dear niece, and my dear sister-in-law... How can you be so cruel to weaker people, hmm? You even threat you're..." I halt and grab my mask.

"...SISTER?" I emphasize that word. I pulled off my mask.

They all buzzed when they saw my face. My eyebrows furrow, and I smirk sweetly. My niece and sister-in-law turned pale when they saw me. My brother had that surprised and scared expression in his face.

Overall? It's damn priceless! I laugh softly. I put down my gun and so Belinda is. We returned it to its cloister, which was wrapped around our legs.

"Sister? Nathalie, she's your aunt?!" Jackson ask.

I shrug my shoulders and even raise my hands. I turn around and face that woman. I sighed and held her hands. She turns pale.

"It's okay. I won't hurt you or anything. But you have to go home now. My brother is quite scary, and you have to believe his words. But I will help you, and you don't have to worry about going to jail, okay? Let's wrap up your concerns some other time. Belinda, can you send her home, please? Use the car, and I'll wait for you after."

"No problem, Kristine. Ma'am, this way, please. I will drive you home," she says.

She is too shocked and must be scared. She chose to follow Belinda. I watch them as they exit the door.

When I turned around, I saw his surprised expression. I simply smile and snap my finger in his face. He snaps his senses back and coughs.

"Aunt? You look too young to be her aunt," he says. I laugh.

"We were born in the same year, but she's a month older. By the way, thank you. For that," I mumbled.

He knew that I was saying thank you because he is ready to help that woman.

"What are you doing here, Kristine?" Sebastian yells at me.

He is about to touch me when this man and his friend shield their hands from me. My brother looks at them with threats in his eyes.

"You shouldn't mistreat women here, Mr. Sanchez. I know Mom will be disappointed," the other man says. He takes off his mask.

"Mr. Hudgens, why did you?" he says.

I almost burst into laughter again. But my beautiful niece butted in and showed her bad attitude.

"How can you defend such a woman, aunt Kristine?" Nathalie asks.

I face her and grab her wrist. I pulled her closer, and I saw fear in her eyes. She's always been the reason for my big brother hitting me and even attempting to ruin my reputation in our family.

I raise my hand and caress her cheeks with a smirk. I let her go, and she hid behind her fiancée's back right away. I crossed my arms and smiled sweetly.

"You should be saying sorry for whatever you did. Also, why would she claim such things if she's lying? No mother will love to see her daughter in that type of situation, Nathalie. Also, I can't believe that you just tolerate such actions from Nathalie, Big Brother, and Clariz. I know she's a spoiled brat, but a... home wrecker? Wow! That was embarrassing for this family."

"You have no right to tell that to my daughter. It was you who suddenly barged into this party and even helped that woman! She is falsely accusing my daughter! She can't accept that her gold-digger daughter is no longer Jackson's wife!" Clariz says. What a bitch!

I shook my head and showed them how disappointed I was. I look at those three people who also support me in protecting that ma'am. I smiled at them and faced them properly.

"Thanks. But I think I'll take care of this issue now. You can go back to your table or leave the party. After all, it was a spoiled night," I remark.

When I look around, my brother is ready to hit me. Raphael stepped in and caught his hand. He looks at him deadly.

"Stay out of my family's business, whoever you are," he says.

He took off his mask, and I saw how Sebastian's face turned pale. I know that he realizes who this man is. Sebastian was surprised to see him in his party and even defended me and the mother-in-law of his daughter's fiancée. I grab his hand, and he lets go of my brother.

"I'm sorry for my brother's rudeness. Big brother, I'm back. I also came here for your birthday. I think you're being rude to your little sister," I smirked.

I gave him a meaningful glance, and I know he realizes that I'm not here to attend his birthday alone.

"Raphael, we should go. Mr. Sanchez, I'm sorry if we got mixed up in the commotion, but I must tell you this. You should be careful, or else you will lose your face to the public. Samantha and Raphael, let's go. We should stay away from their family business."

They bow their heads and leave. I saw how hesitant Raphael was, but I can handle my own family. After all, I came here full of cards in my hand.

I turned around and let my brother drag me out of the venue hall. They also followed us, and we went to the garden near the venue room that they used. I released my grip on his hand.

"Are you out of your mind, Kristine?! You should've done that. Did you hear the audience mumble?! Are you trying to embarrass me and bring shame to this family?" Sebastian asks. I scoff.

"You should've said that to Nathalie. I came back because I graduated from my doctorate course. I never thought that you and your daughter had messed up our name! And you, if you want another beauty, then you should've divorced your wife before you hooked up with my niece! Clariz, how can you tolerate your daughter's stupidity, huh? Or should I say you're so preoccupied with being a socialite that you've forgotten your role as a mother?" I asked.

"You have no right to question my way of parenting. Not to a girl like you who is nothing in the first place," she replied.

I laugh and then my expression became serious again. Me? Nothing in this family? I will let them know who I am. I won't let him do as he pleases with my life. This is mine, and I'll drive it to the path that I deserve to walk into. I shook my head.

"Sorry to tell you, but I came HOME. I am not here to visit or have a vacation. I won't be leaving anymore. So whether you like it or not, I will be involved in this family again. So you, mister. You should fix the mess in your life and don't ruin our name. You even have the guts to enjoy the party and be introduced as her fiancee, ha! I can't believe how shameless you are," I remark.

My phone rang, and my brother turned pale when he saw the name.
