Chapter 7 The Decision

Adriana was placed inside the Maserati with the help of her mother, Elizabeth got in through the left door and signaled the driver to drive to the private hospital.

Moments later they were in front of Yale private hospital, "come, honey, we're here. You will be fine once you get treated" Elizabeth tucks in the locks of hair on Adriana's face at the back of her ear.

The nurses soon arrived with a stretcher and wheeled Adriana to the emergency room.

While they were still driving down to the hospital, Mrs. Yale made a call to the head director and told him to have a good check-up on her daughter as they were on their way to the hospital.

Mrs. Yale refused to take the private waiting room offered by the director as she was worried about her daughter.

Thirty minutes later, Adriana was wheeled out of the emergency room with an IV drip in her right hand, the attending nurse pushed the stretcher to an empty room and placed her lifeless body on the hospital bed.

Outside the ward, Elizabeth Yale was speaking with the doctor, "please follow me Mrs. Yale" the doctor muttered and motioned her to his office.

Elizabeth's heart was heavier than usual as this suspense was killing her.

"It was indeed a rape case, Miss Yale was brutally molested, forcefully penetrated, and might be traumatized forever. The male organ of the man is bigger than usual which made Miss Yale suffer tearing from the painful intrusion. Although I have treated her with some infusion to make her unconscious and keep the pain away from her" doctor Jeremy explained to Elizabeth who sobbed really hard blaming herself for everything.

Adriana was in this situation because of us, Mrs. Yale felt sorry for her daughter and was confused on what to do.

"Beep"! A blaring sound came from Elizabeth's handbag, she searched her bag and found the cellphone that was ringing. It was Benjamin Yale, he has been waiting at the villa for hours, Elizabeth cleaned her face with paper wipes given to her by doctor Jeremy.

"Why ain't you home with Adriana? The McKenzie's would soon arrive to see their daughter-in-law." Benjamin's voice was so high and mighty that Elizabeth burst into more tears.

In the Yale living room, Benjamin's brow knitted with confusion as he thought why his wife was sobbing, 'was it because I raised my voice at her?' He thought to himself and decided to apologize.

"Sorry honey, I didn't mean to raise my voice at you" he was quick to apologize, Elizabeth sobbed even more and informed Benjamin that she was in the hospital and will be home soon.

"Hospital! What are you saying? Hold on I'll be right there"

"No, I'll take Adriana back now. See you in ten minutes".

A drive to the Hill Valley estate wasn't far as the estate is close to the private hospital.

"Careful not to drop her or make her feel uncomfortable" Elizabeth barked orders to the servants that carried Adriana out of the car, Benjamin was dumbstruck seeing his daughters lifeless body being brought into the house. He rushed to his wife and requested an explanation, meanwhile, the servants had just returned from placing Adriana in her room and were now in the living room waiting for an order.

"You may all leave" Elizabeth asserted, they bowed curtly and left.

"What's this ruckus about?" Benjamin asked his wife, becoming impatient and more confused. Elizabeth glanced around, grabbed her husband's hand, and dragged him to the study room.

"Adriana got raped at the Walton home by a man of unknown origin" she explained calmly with a pale face.

She knew the essence of this marriage was important to both families as the patriarch of the McKenzie's and Yale's has decided on this union for decades and it was also accepted by both families.

Breaking this alliance might bring feud between the two families as that was the death wish of the patriarchs before their demise.

A bulge of veins appeared on Benjamin's forehead as he staggered back feeling disheartened and sad for his daughter, "how did this happen? She just returned from New Haven yesterday, could someone be targeting her?" Benjamin inquired and was lost in thoughts.

"Come on honey, what are we going to do about this? The McKenzie's would be coming soon and Adriana is still unconscious and unstable" Elizabeth asked her husband anxiously with quivering lips.

"We will proceed with the plans, nothing is going to stop the engagement" Benjamin ascertained with waves of authority.

Elizabeth was dumbstruck as she stared at her husband with dropped jaw, "our daughter was just raped and traumatized, and she will need time to heal from this shock." She asserted. However, Benjamin doesn't think the same, he only wants to fulfill the patriarch's death wish without minding Adriana's situation or opinion.

"I don't support this honey, Adria needs time to heal. Remember she's not in support of this union and could relapse at any time" Elizabeth rejected the idea while having her daughter's best interest at heart.

"My decision is final, Adriana would meet the McKenzie's in good faith. That's her destiny, it has already been decided even before she was born. Get me, Alicia Walton, I'll have to investigate this matter" Benjamin's cold aura stopped Elizabeth from speaking further, she nodded and stepped out of the study.

Since Benjamin has decided Adriana's fate, Elizabeth could only pacify her and prepare for what's coming.

Back at the Walton Mansion Alicia was seen with a grim face worried about her best friend, she sought help from one of her underworld friends Danny who was a private investigator.

After getting a call from Alicia, Danny began work, and within thirty minutes he was done with the investigation.

"What did you find out Danny?" Alicia rushed towards him as he made his way to the living room.

"This is a bit complicated, the culprit must be powerful and has already planned out everything. All the evidence that leads to him has been destroyed. Every guest invited didn't step out of the living room except for the victim, there is no trace left by the culprit. I'm sorry that I can't help Alicia" Danny said regretfully.

"Don't say that, I'm grateful that you helped, thanks Danny" she smiled gratefully and saw Danny off to his Ferrari that was parked in front of the mansion.
