Chapter 4 Clara

"Let's go," she said and started walking, and I followed her. I took three steps, and suddenly something blocked my way, and I stumbled and fell to the ground with a bang, my face flat on the ground.

Ashton and his friends gave each other a blast on the hi-fi, and Rosalie immediately walked over to me and helped me to my feet with difficulty.

When we left that place, I held back my tears as she put her hands behind my back, their laughter still ringing in my ears.

We walked to my car, I sat in the back and she sat next to me. I closed the door and burst into tears, which I could no longer control.

When I cried, I cried when Rosalie hugged me quietly, put her arms around my shoulders as I cried.

Why am I so heavy and ugly? Why is it that I weigh 180 lbs at 17 and that gives everyone a reason to hurt me verbally and physically?

I hate myself for this. I hate crying like a baby every time someone hurts me. I wish I was ruthless and I stopped crying. Even after eight years, I still cry.

"It's going to be fine. We'll complain to the principal," Rosalie said, trying to comfort me with her hand on my arm.

"No" came out louder than I expected. "Why?" Her brow furrowed as she watched me break the hug.

"I just don't want to." I took a deep breath, wiped away my tears, and murmured. Mom already hated me and I didn't want to give her any more reason.

"Can we leave school and go somewhere?" I asked in a low voice. Leaving school on the first day sucks, but I'm not ready to face another bunch of brats.

"Okay." She said and got out of the car, and sat in the driver's seat without waiting for me to say anything.

"Is there somewhere in your heart?" she asked, her voice soft. I shook my head.

"I just landed here yesterday, I don't have time to look at anything" I said to her and she nodded.

"Then let's go to my house," she announced happily and started driving while I looked outside and let my mind wander. I don't know why she is nice to me. What if I end up getting hurt, what if I get hurt more?

Every time I try to trust someone, they prove me wrong, and I hope Rosalie doesn't.

I was surprised when she stopped the car, only to find that my mansion was next to hers. She raised her eyebrows at the shocked look on my face when I locked the door. "This mansion belongs to my father," I said, pointing to the mansion next door to her. She looked at me for a moment, screamed, then hugged me with a huge smile on her face, and I couldn't stop myself from smiling when I saw her.

"We're neighbors. That's great. We're going to have a lot of fun . But you're in a mess and need to clean up, " she said, putting my arm around me and leading me to her house.

As we entered through the pale blue doors, she left my hand and jumped in like a child. "Mom, where are you? I want to introduce you to someone," she called, and a dark-haired woman nearly 5'7" emerged from the kitchen, smiling.

"Wait-why are you here? I thought you were at school," her mother said as she seated us on the sofa in the living room, which looked very cozy and beautiful. Plants, pictures, books, toys, paintings, vases and flowers, full of life, not like ours, more of a showroom.

"All of that aside, she's my new classmate and best friend, we have classes together, and she's our neighbor" Rosalie spoke like a bullet train while her mom smiled warmly at me. "Honey, what's your name?" she asked softly.

"Clara. Clara Hughes" I said nervously, thinking she would hate me. "Something must have happened to you, go and wash up. You're welcome," Lyra said, and now I see where Rosalie's smile came from.

I envy Rosa when I see her mother.

Maybe because I can't have it, I love being in their house so much.

Her mother was always pleasant and made us feel comfortable.

"What to do, Rosa, you said that you would inform the principal about this matter. But is it really useful? You see that the dean is so unfair." I washed my hair and said anxiously.

Rosa stood aside. I know her family is rich, but compared with powerful people, our power is not worth mentioning.

"I don't know, Clara, but at least we need to try first. Headmaster, he's a good man. He cherishes the name of the school."

I'm skeptical, but I'm willing to believe for now.

"Rosa, I think you should stay away from me. I don't want to cause trouble for you. Today you stand out for me and have attracted Ashton's attention. I think maybe we should keep our distance?"

Rosa didn't speak, she just said don't think too much.

I don't know why she is so nice to someone who comes to school on the first day. But I cherish the present.

I dried my hair, and the message notification on my phone rang.

' Look at you today, Clara, I think the whole school knows you by now, and you're at the top of the school website. Congratulations. '

It was an unfamiliar number, but, I knew, it was Ashton. . .

Only he can talk like that.

I followed the link and clicked, and the school website seemed to explode.

Countless likes and retweets, I think I'm going crazy.

The madman!

Rosalie and I parted ways and drove to our mansion in our own car. Promising to text her soon, I walked into the living room only to find my mom sitting there, staring deadly.

Hearing her cry, I wanted to sneak away.

"What the hell do you take yourself for? You've only been here for two days and you're giving us trouble." I stood there silently, wondering what I had done when it touched me.
