Chapter 6 6

" We have 10 rooms available and if I'm not mistaken, I was told you all are 20 in numbers. This means two people per room. Let me make it easier for you then. You can choose your partner yourself so all I'm going to do is to pick ten people and I'll hand over a key each to this ten people selected. The key will have your room number, all you need to do is pick a partner and that's all."

" We are roommates" Ashley whispered and I nodded

" Let's wait and see who she'll give the keys to first before we can decide to be roommates. If one of us is lucky enough to receive one, then lucky us"

She nodded in agreement" You're right " Granny Joanne moved forward to start handling the keys. She started from her left down to her right. She was finally standing in front of Ashley thinking she'll give Ashley a key, she didn't. She made a stop in front of me and I felt my breath stopped. She gives me this kind of vibe that I don't understand.

One thing I'm sure about is, I'm going to stay away from her. She smiled at me as if knowing something I don't. Granny Joanne's eyes went down to my neck and right then I knew I need to fight for my breath. She was staring hard at the necklace around my neck but the thing is I don't know which one because I have two necklaces around my neck. One was gifted to me on my 16th birthday by my father and the other one was the one Alpha Ronald got from a witch which is to help me achieve my aim here.

" Where did you get that from? " she asked.

I had to look down and relaxed when I saw that it's was the necklace my father gave me.

A smile broke my face " My father gifted it to me

" She made an "O" sound " It's really lovely"

" Thanks," I said.

Granny stretched her hand and hand over a key to me " You can pick a roommate" I nodded and she moved on to the next person.

Ashley squealed quietly " I'm happy we are roommates. I don't think I'll be able to stay in the same room with a different person"

" If that happens, you'll learn to live with whoever it is"

" True" she agreed then hooked her arm around my right arm" Let's go, roomie"

The room was nice and it has everything in it. The restroom is joint and has every necessity in it.

" The bed is so soft" Ashley moaned as she collapsed on it and I could only shake my head at her.

I yawned tired of the journey but first I need to take a bath. I stink of sweat right now. Ashley was already setting her things.

I picked up an already folded towel. I pulled off my clothes and wrapped the towel around my body. I went into the bathroom and made sure to have a relaxing shower. I spent almost thirty minutes in the bathroom enjoying my shower. The water was so relaxing. I finally came out with a towel wrapped around me. Then suddenly, reality hits me. I didn't bring any clothes with me. I remember not having the time to go get my things after the talk I had with Alpha Ronald. It's all a result of my coming to her not being planned.

" Ashley, I can't believe I forgot to pack my clothes"

" You're kidding right?"

I shook my head" I'm damn serious. I forgot"

She burst out laughing " No wonder I saw you without any bag. At first, I thought you left it in the car but surprisingly, you didn't bring any" I groaned " What am I going to do now?"

" Just stay naked that's all" She teased.

" you're mean"

" It's just a suggestion. By the way, since I brought more than enough you can use some of my clothes. I'm sure they will fit you since we kinda weigh the same " Ashley offered.

I don't like sharing clothes with people and most of all, I hate inconveniencing people " Ashley you don't have to do this. I just find a solution "

" I don't mind," she said looking at me.

I knew better than to accept " Thanks a lot. I appreciate"

She waved it off " It's nothing really" she opened her box and picked out some of her clothes " Take this one. By tomorrow I'll give you the rest"

I moved forward to get it from her. Out of the clothes, I picked out a short nightgown to put on " You are a lifesaver"

" Don't mention" I collapsed on the bed " I'm thirsty right now. At least they should have given us food since they knew we came from a far distance"

" I thought I was the only hungry one here" Ashley lay down on the mattress. A thought came to me " I think I should go check the kitchen here, we might be lucky to find something to eat"

" Don't be stupid Melissa. We just got her and neither of us knows where the kitchen is" Ashley said. Who cares? All I need right now is water and I don't mind going to all lengths to get that right now.

" Just trust me on this one. We have blood in our body and at the same time, we need food. If I don't get something to eat right now, there is a possibility of me collapsing" I explained Ashley let out a sigh " ok then"

" Good. Now, wait for my return" with that I walked out of the room.

I went down the hallway in search of the kitchen. My grumbling stomach won't allow me to rest even if it's water I'm good with that. Everyone was already inside their rooms but a small chattering can be heard from a room. I tried forcing myself from eavesdropping then I remembered my mission here. It was best I do what I was told to do and leave on time. I tiptoed as I trace the chattering, it was coming from a room hidden from other rooms. It was at the far end of the hallway. My hand went to the necklace alpha Ronald gave me which would hide my scent. I placed my right ear on the door.

" I don't trust those from the West pack. After everything, we've heard about their alpha. I don't trust them at all granny Joanne" I heard a particular person say and I grew more interested in the conversation. If I was in their shoes I also won't trust us right now. It's normal to feel protective of your pack. But what bothers me is, why us in particular? Why us the West pack?
