Chapter 2 AND SO IT BEGINS

"'Come with me if you wish that he may live'' A tiny voice yells out from the crowd,Jennie looks up, it was a young girl who had her face covered and also her

whole body, Jennie didn't know what to do as everyone around was just staring

and did nothing so she followed the strange girl. It was already a few minutes

and Jennie was weak from carrying Jeff's lifeless body, he had bleed out on her

cloth, as she stopped and lied straight down on the leaves in the woods

''We have been going through the woods for over a long period,

where are you taking me to?'' Jennie says

in agony and fear

''Do you not wish that your friend may live?'' The strange girl asked her

''Yes'' Jennie replies

"Then, be patient for we

are almost there" The strange girl

responds

They didn't

walk too long before they got to a house in the woods, a house made of woods,

old woods, and covered with leaves with sounds of river flow not too far of.

''Where is this place?'' Jennie asks as she stops walking and stands panting

''This is the place of The Healer.'' The strange girl asks

''How can I trust you? I do not know you'' Jennie says anxiously as the strange girl

removes her cloth which she used to cover her face

''Oh my, my princess'' Jennies yells in surprise as she knells then bows

''Long live the Princess, I'm so sorry'' She adds

''It is okay, come with me we do not have much

time he has lost so much blood'' The

princess says as they both rush in, the healer sees them and joins and takes

the Jeff and lays him on the table and starts treatment as he asked that the

princess and Jennie excuse him. They both went out in front of the healer's

house

''Why?'' Jennie

asks as she stares uncontrollably

''I know you would ask that'' The princess replies

''Why will I not, that one such as yourself

associate with someone like me should never be heard by the king for I and my

almost dead friend will lose our heads'' Jennie

says

''Well he will hear nothing about this except

you tell him'' The princess replies

giving her a bright smile

''I have so much to ask you, so many questions

running through my head, I'm so sorry if I talk to much my princess'' Jennie says with a shy smile on her face

''Ask as you wish, and you may call me

No..-..'' The healer interrupts as he

yells from the front door of his house

''My princess you may need to leave now for

the sun is about to set that your father may not search for you'' The healer yells from the door which he

stood

''Okay, healer thank you, please do well to

take care of them as you would me'' The

princess says

''Sure I will, hurry now will you'' The healer responds with a smile

''Thank you'' Jennie says as she hugs the princess, the princess runs off afterwards,

Jennie then goes to join the healer inside

''Your friend is very lucky, the princess

brought him here, he was already in-between the land of the living and the

dead'' The healer says as he mix herbs

together

''Yes healer, we are very grateful. But can I

ask you a question'' Jennie asks with an

unsure face

''Yes of course'' The healer replied

''Why does she do this? Why does she wear this

disguise around, why does she risk her life for the people hate the king and

would do anything to bring him to his kneels'' Jennie asks

''Well most people are dead while still alive

and that is very much worse than death, I think this is her own way of living

being with you and I and everyone one else and trying to live a normal life,

she's trying to live'' The healer answered but Jennie was still

very much confused

Moments After....

''Where have you been? I searched for you in

your chambers'' The king says with a calm

voice

''I was out watching the Sun set'' Nora says as she turns back and kneel before

her father the king

''The colors of a sunrise and sunset are

caused by particles and debris in the air that filter the sunlight. As air

pollution worsen, the last human alive will witness the most beautiful sunset

of all as for now we are left with this'' The

king says as he spreads his hands in demonstration

''Dad you are on this again'' Nora

says as they both laugh, Nora always loved the way her father spoke in poetic

words and most times even though she is confused still fascinated by him the

way he acts and talks she believes that he is a God in human form, so she

always feared him

''Come my child I have something to show you

in my throne room'' The king says as they

both go inside. The King so much cared for Nora ever since her mother died to

an unknown sickness over a decade ago, he has ever since showed her all the

love and care there is.

''My lord... My lord'' Dabur

yells out. Dabur is the special adviser to the king the one who run most of the

affairs of the kingdom has instructed by the king

''Can you not see that I am with my

daughter?'' The kings responds with a

frowned face

''I am sorry my lord, I just wanted to bring to

your Notice that the goods are here my lord.''

He says as he kneels before Mayhem

the king

''Rise Dabur, for this is great news'' The king says with a grin on his face

''Yes my lord'' Dabur replied

''Have them move them in the store and that

20% of it to the people'' The king says

''But my lord... Don't you think that is..-'' Dabur says before he been interrupted by the

king

''Do you dare to question my authority

Dabur?'' The king asks as he turns to him

''I dare not my lord'' He says

as he leaves his presence

''Come for I have something to show you'' The king says as he takes his daughter to

the side of the mansion in which they lived that was the highest that you could

see almost all the houses in that kingdom. This mansion was passed over

generations to generations until he got down to Mayhem The reigning king, which

he rebuilt and made it higher than it ever was and more beautiful

''Can you see my daughter, this kingdom shall

soon be passed over you to rule and we shall be the first of many kingdoms to

be ruled by a woman, do not show weakness or fear or you shall fail and

remember to trust no one and stand on your ground even if it means that you

maybe die my dear daughter which I know that you wouldn't, I know that I wasn't

blessed with a son but you are better than any son that I could ever imagine my

dear daughter. And I hope you live up to expectations'' Dabur says

''I will I promise'' She says as she hugs her father

Bird singing.... Wind blows cold breeze.... As

heavy noise draw nearer and nearer

''What's that all about?'' Zac asked as he looks

''I don't know I think it's coming closer'' Joe adds

''Stay on your guard.... Do you have sight on

them?'' Zac replies as if he were ever

ready

''Yes,

I think it's the people'' Joe replies as

he gets back to work sighing

''What is it this time?'' Zac

says as he drops his staff and stands up from where he sat. Zac and Joe both

sat outside their houses that morning preparing their equipment for hunting.

Zac is the best warrior in the kingdom, he has gone and fought many wars for

the kingdom and won but couldn't win the battle over his wife and daughter for died

when he was at war, so they say but their death is still very mysterious.

CHANTING AND CRYING IN THE BACKGROUD

''What is wrong?'' Zac asks.

''The king once again, he has taken everything

from us, lives of our loved ones, sources of survival all in the name of

bandits but we know the truth and we want justice. Just yesterday it was said

that goods that our men went and transported from the next kingdom as approved

by the king was taken by him and was shared 20 80, he taking 80. How do we then

survive? With this population, children are being born every day, we have

nothing to survive on, our farm produce are being stolen by the so called

bandits but we know it is him Mayhem that wick..-'' A voice from the crowd replies in anger but interrupted by Zac as it

seems like he had heard enough

''Enough'' Zac yells

''Enough of this blasphemy against my lord, or

you would regret it'' Zac adds as Another

voice from the crowd follows almost immediately

''Would you sit here and watch us die of

starvation Zac? Would you sit here as this man bring down what we have built

for decades to come? He has done a lot of evil and needs to pay and only you

Zac..-''

''Enough, Leave this instant or you all will

pay with your heads'' Zac says in anger

as they all left

''Zac! Zac! Zac!'' Joe yells out

''Can't

you hear me?'' Joe adds as he stares at

Zac

''I heard you the first time'' Zac replied

''Why did you react this way to these

people?'' Joe asks

''Why? Huh? Why because they know not what

they speak of, my lord will do no such evil, he took good care of my wife and

child'' Zac replied

''I that what he told you?'' Joe answers with his hands up in the air as

he lets out a laugh

''You do not know the truth do you?'' Joe adds

''What truth?'' Zac asks in curiosity

''He took your wife for is because he was

certain you won't come back from that war, it was all a set-up, your beloved

wife wouldn't bear it and she took her own life, you son was with him

afterwards and few days later was found dead by the river, but it was made to

seem like they died a natural death, so you see you have been lied to all these

while'' Joe replied

''It's not true , these are all conspiracies''

Zac says in disbelieve as he enters his

house

''Zac! Zac! Are we not going hunting

anymore?'' Joe yells as Zac leaves

Moments Later at the Healer's

Wind blows

faster and smoother as evening falls, and the river makes sound as it flows

''Is he going to be okay?'' Jennie asks

''Yes of course'' The healer answers almost immediately

''But it's been two days and he has not said a

word or opened his eyes'' Jennie says

looking worried

''You need not to worry young one for he is

fine, come have breakfast'' The healer

says as he stretches his hand

''I'm not hungry'' She says as she goes closer to jeff who was laying still and began

muttering words to him

''He will be fine trust me, I am sure he would

not that you starve yourself of food for his sake'' The healer says as he guides her to the table to eat

Back At Jason's House.

''Where is he? Where is he?'' Emmy Jason's brother yells as he paced

around the room

''I do not know, I swear I do not know'' Alex

responds in little fear, because he knew how violent Emmy has always been, Emmy

was greatly feared but few people who knew him in the kingdom because he was a

bully.

''He thinks he can do this to my brother and

get away with it, he must very well be a joker.'' Emmy says as he pauses

''I have a plan. But we need to find where he

lives first'' Emmy says as he let's out

an evil smile of relive

''I think Jennie should know that'' Amanda responds

''I haven't seen both he and Jennie for days

now'' Alex says

''I think I know where he lives'' Jason

says with a sore voice as he tries to stand up but falls back on his bed

''Hey, hey, hey little brother be calm for

this is but a small issue. Just give us directions and tonight he shall pay for

what he did to you.'' Emmy says as they all stare at him in shock

Moments Later.

''Healer! Healer! His awake'' Jennie yells as Jeff tries to stand up

''No, no, no stay back down'' The healer yells as he comes to where he

laid

''Where I'm I? What happened? Why does my head

hurt this bad'' Jeff says as he grunts in

pain

''I'm here Jeff, you are safe'' Jennie responds

''Who are you?'' Jeff

says as he holds his head which was covered with bandage, and Jennie falls in

shock
