Chapter 3 FIRST DAY AT WORK

Emily's POV

I woke up very early today. I took a bath and dressed up. I was so excited and nervous also. I called an Uber and as I waited for it, I went to Syd's room and told her I was going to work.

My Uber arrived, in a mini second I headed to work. My first day at one of the most and best renowned commercial real estate company. I heard the owner is very strict and doesn't tolerate any nonsense. While I was about to take my phone from my bag to do a quick check on time I heard the car stop, I must have been consumed by my thoughts I didn't even notice I had arrived.

I paid my fare and boarded off. I arrived some minutes to 6 a.m and I was met by a smiling Mr Ferreri. I didn't even know a smile could come from that face. He looked quite impressed that I arrived in time, I might as well be a good employee and make sure I stay on his good side. Only God knows if he is mad what level of madness does he reach and I don't want to imagine about the CEO.

"I thought you were going to disappoint by being late. Now follow me and let me show you your office. There is a lot of work for you today. I need you to prepare these files and send them before 7.30am to Mr Kruger's email and on the subject write Montago Estates. It's urgent and you need to be fast. After that I am going to send you Mr Kruger's next week meetings make sure you don't clash programs and the meeting that have been rescheduled put them in order. And send them before 8 a.m also. Its a bit of a mess we had kind of and incompetent employee before. So I trust you and don't disappoint ok," he said as we walked to my new office and showing me the files I needed to work on which were on the table.

"Mitchell will bring you your today list and help you with all you need today. She will prep you up for everything you need to know. For the next 2 days also, she will be helping you. Okay!? Any questions?" He asked and I shook my head as I responded, "Noted Sir. you won't be disappointed at all, for now I have no questions at all."

I got to work and logged in the computer and started on the Montago files. I had to do research on the property information, including ownership and zoning. I heard to show that I am competent and skilled for this line of work.

I compiled everything needed on the file and sent it to Mr Kruger. At least one was done. When I was done with that research, I could feel the pressure, it was draining me.

I then started on the meetings calendar. At least this was not that tiresome. I organised everything and put the all the meetings in order. Whilst I was finishing up Mitchell came up in my office to ask if was done. I finished up and sent the email to Mr Kruger. "I am done now we can start up with work." I told Mitchell who was stand

"Okay, fine. Let's get started then." She replied. She started by teaching me how to organize and track potential property sales and real estate transactions the Kruger way. She said Mr Kruger designed his own way of business so as to be unique. She had to show me also how to draft and edit contracts on behalf of the agency's broker or agent.

Everything was said it had to be done the Kruger way and not any other way. To say I was thankful for having her as my preceptor is an understatement. She was pretty nice and made my day a whole lot better.

The whole day went quite well. It was tiresome. The only time I had to rest was during lunch hour. It was not even lunch hour cause it was only for 30 minutes so that we could go back to work.

Mitchell had been put to teach me all that I needed to know in only 3 days and get me ready. Apparently I was supposed to be perfect by the time Mr Kruger came back from his trip. Thankfully, I am a fast learner and that even helped me in school. I never struggled to understand new concepts or theories. I even had to jump grades that's why I graduated early in college for my undergraduate and got my Masters at the age of 21.

And Mitchell told me the CEO doesn't use the same elevator and stairs as the rest of the personal. Many people don't even know if he comes to work or not. Even his car has a separate parking lot from every one else.

Which got me thinking in my silly brain "mmmm what is he hiding hahaha," Silly me.

The day was okay. Honestly I can't wait to get back home and rest. My poor little body is so tired. If tired was a person it would be me.
