Chapter 4 Cassandra's Escape From Avalonia With Her Husband And The Sacrifice Of Her Mother And Nana Lucia

The Queen approached the crying mother of the pregnant woman who hoped the soldiers would slay her. The soldiers released the pregnant woman and brought her closer to Demora. Her mother also approached him to comfort the child. Demora spoke.

"What do you know about the child mentioned in the prophecy?" Demora asked directly.

"I know who her mother is and where they live," said the pregnant woman's mother who was still in a hurry.

"Who?"

"She is Cassandra. And they live near the border of the kingdom. And her husband works as a slave," the ale explained.

"How can I be sure you're telling the truth?" doubt of the Queen.

"I know this because I heard Cassandra's conversation and when Nana Lucia, my neighbor, was a midwife when I passed by their house. And Cassandra has plans to flee tonight to this kingdom."

"Are you sure that's what you're saying?" Demora raised an eyebrow and was still not convinced by what the ale had said.

"It's true what I said. If you want, I'll go with you to Cassandra's house," the ale assured the Queen.

"Osige, I will agree," the Queen turned to the soldiers, "let this one go." The soldiers dragged the ale but left his son in front of the Queen.

"Wait! I thought you were going to release my daughter?"

"Yes. But she's here first. Because, maybe you're just fooling me. When we find Cassandrang's house, I'll finally release your daughter," said Demora.

The pregnant mother was dragged away while she was still crying.

"Promise not to hurt my child, Dear Queen!" its cry as it exits the Queen's hall.

The soldiers threw her out of the castle and fell to the ground.

"Get out!" the soldier sighed as Aleng fell to the ground and dust covered her face and clothes.

It stood up and forced its way into the castle by slamming the gate.

"Open the door! Let me in! Let my son go!" The ale knocked on the big door but the soldiers who were just standing at the gate inside did not listen and they just ignored the disturbance of the ale.

The Queen ordered to find the house referred to by the ale.

"But, Your Majesty, where else can we find this Cassandrang in the extent of the kingdom?" hesitation of the soldier.

"Ask questions there on the border of the kingdom. And I want to add guards throughout the kingdom," the Queen commanded.

"But, Your Majesty we are sure that no one here within the kingdom will be able to simply escape because of the magic that fences all the corners of Avalonia," commented one of the Queen's advisers.

"But let's not underestimate the ability of the magicians here inside Avalonia. Yes, I did kill the Albularmen who are the protectors of the kingdom but there are others like them here who have the same ability as them. So I want to find out who they are so that I can stop them from plotting against me." The Queen stood up from her seat.

Meanwhile, in the evening, Cassandra is preparing to leave the kingdom to escape the Anito's attempt to kill her and her son, especially Demora.

"Child, you two take care of your husband, ah?" Cassandra's mother instructed.

"Don't worry about me, Mom, maybe this Nana Lucia's talisman will help us. Besides, we can penetrate Demora's magical fence according to Nana Lucia's instructions to me," Cassandra said.

"Yes, Mom. I will not abandon your child. And our child. I will protect them as much as I can," replied Aleng Linda's son-in-law Ramon.

"All right, just be careful and remember that I love you so much."

Cassandra was devastated by her mother's words and hugged her tightly with tears streaming down her eyes.

Because it was eleven o'clock that night, Cassandra and Ramon didn't waste any more time. They said goodbye to their mother who had been left at home and had gone to the border of the kingdom. They hid in the gardens and trees so that the soldiers who patrolled their area and other parts of the kingdom would not notice. Even at the standing trees they look up because there may be eyes watching.

They first stopped at a large makupa tree when they suddenly noticed crows flying in the air.

"Let's hide!" Ramon said in shock.

They hid in the shade of a tree. Because the cloud covered the moonlight, they had a chance to flee because Demora's minions could not see them immediately.

"Let's use the amulet that the midwife gave you," said Cassandra's husband Ramon.

"It's not possible, it's still eleven o'clock in the evening. Nana Lucia told me that it should be used at twelve o'clock to make it more resilient. Besides, we don't know if we can get through that energy yard easily without hindrance. It might take a long time. This amulet is only valid for an hour," Cassandra explained.

So they did nothing but wait an hour before heading to the energy yard. They were about 30 meters away from the fence and saw the soldiers just standing around with spears in their hands.

There were also people who were wandering around and just waiting for the daredevil to come out of the yard and they would devour it.

"I'm starving! I hope I can find at least a rat to eat!" said the werewolf.

Ramon and Cassandra heard that so they were even more terrified. But Ramon reassured his wife.

It will only be a few minutes before midnight so the two are even more nervous as they pass through the energy fence.

"No matter what happens, I'm sure we can escape here too," Ramon said firmly to his wife.

"I hope so," Cassandra replied nervously.

By midnight Cassandra and Ramon had used the penetration talisman given to them by Nana Lucia. In a flash the two disappeared. Only their footprints are visible when they step on the soft ground.

They quickly passed the soldiers who were patrolling up to ten meters away from the fence when suddenly there was a commotion. The oracles came with Demora and the sorcerers. They hold Nana Lucia and Cassandra's mother.

Cassandra saw this so she could have approached them but Ramon stopped her.

"Show up, Cassandra! I'm holding your mother. If you love her you'll show up!" cry of the Queen.

"Let them go! Just punish us!" Nana Lucia sighed.

"You're very brave, You old fool. Your brain is narrow. You're willing to sacrifice your life just for a worthless woman."

"If it's useless, why do you still need my son?" said Aleng Linda, Cassandra's mother.

The oracles answered.

"Because her son will motivate Queen Demora's defeat. And we will not allow a mortal to defeat her," replied an oracle.

"What do you need from us? You can just take the treasures and then go back to where you came from, ah?" said Aleng Linda.

"Don't preach to me!"

Demora shouted loudly.

"Aren't you really going to show me, Cassandra? Pwes. Watch where you are now and what will happen to your mother!" Demora shouted.

She lifted Demora with her cane and was about to throw red energy like electricity at Cassandra's mother when Nana Lucia suddenly took something out of her pocket. A medallion with the power that gives light to the core of the glare. Everyone present, including the Queen, was dazzled except for Nana Lucia and Aleng Linda. Nana Lucia shouted at Cassandra to hurry because the light only lasted a minute before it disappeared.

"Go away, Cassandra! Hurry up!" cried of Nana Lucia.

The Queen and her minions temporarily lost their sight due to the power of Nana Lucia's medallion. The couple managed to get past the energy fence with the help of Nana Lucia's talisman.

When they were outside the fence, the amulet lost its effect. Cassandra turned around as she watched her mother as well as Nana Lucia.

A minute later the light on Nana Lucia's medallion disappeared. Demora's eyesight returned. Nana Lucia and Aleng Linda by Demora did made them turn into stone with her powerful cane.
