Chapter 1 Prologue

"Hush little one, they will hear you." A women says holding the princess in her arms as she makes her way carefully down the hidden stairs.

The sounds of swords clashing could be heard and screams from the fearful vibrated the air. The little princess quieted down, hiding her face in her maids clothes.

"Just a little further and we will be free." The maid whispers. The fresh air is the first thing that rushes at the two, a horse already saddled and ready to go waiting jut by the edge of the trees. A man in armour sits on it with a young boy in his lap. It was old fashion but easier to get away unnoticed in this high tech world.

"Take the princess to safety." Was the last words the maid says, placing a necklace, the charm a blur in the the dark night, around the toddler's neck before handing her to the man.

They say a silent good bye before the reins are flicked and the sounds of hooves can be heard, the castle fading into the distance.

The girl jolts awake in a cold sweat, her cell freezing in the winter night. She shivered and wrapped the thin blanket around herself. It was hours before dawn and the memory of the dream faded to blackness in her memory. No matter how hard she tried she couldn't bring it back.

Sighing, the girl layed back down and closed her eyes, trying to fall back to sleep before the day had to start.

The monitor on the screen buzzed. After thirteen years of searching, they had finally found her.

Who would have thought it would be in prison.
