Chapter 5 CH 5

I got the job, the email came earlier today and I couldn't even jump in excitement because it's not a dream job of mine that I got

That doesn't mean that I am not happy, far from that. The thought of earning money again and not having to sneak around to eat in this house made me extremely happy. Maybe I could even save a little to leave this place finally

I hear a door opening in the house, followed by a loud chatter of happiness. That only happens when my father is back from one of his work duties. As always when I hear my sibling's loud chatters and happiness I slid down from the bed dropping the novel I have been reading wore my flops and went straight out of the room

''Dad...'' I smile so happily and his smile brighten up as he sight me

''My flower'' he blithered at me as the others excuse themselves from him as he waited for my hug

One thing with my father? He absolutely adores me. With him I do not have to feel any pressure and he always is rooting for me. My younger siblings usually get jealous at moments like this and my mom is the worst

She once accused me of trying to snatch her husband from her when I was much younger, to put it out, I am a daddy's girl

''Look at my flower, although my flower isn't blooming, she doesn't look happy'' he pushes me off from him looking at me full on. He notices every single emotion that passes through my face ''your mother again? I thought I told her to do nothing this time around'' he frown and I have to give his shoulder a reassuring squeeze

''Dad I am fine, really I am'' I tell him

''If you say so'' he beams at me and I had to tease him of looking younger from just been away from us for two weeks ''see why an old man misses you? You have the sweetest tongue''

''Dad we still have to unpack your bag'' my younger brother Simon said with frustration after watching the both of us

Josephine face is also annoyed and angry, it is a normal face they bring out once our father and I are in our sweetest mood

''That is right, I completely forgot. You know what? When you have the loveliest children and you happen to miss them a lot you begin to forget some things'' he smiled, looking at the three of us

''And when you have the most useless daughter you find it hard to ever have a reason to like her''

I do not need to turn around to see who said that, it can only be one person. After all her voice is so very recognizable. I move to my dad's left side holding his hand and he held me in place

''Silver I have told you that your words are not nice to this young lady here'' dad said to her softly

''And am telling you now that we need to throw her out of our lives right now'' she snap at him sharply ''and you....'' She glared at me ''will you move away? Or I shouldn't hug my husband again. You can go and get yours if you are becoming jealous''

Without been told twice I remove my hand from my dad's and move way going straight to my room. This statement used to be all fun and a sweet banter. When I and Dad are having a good conversation and mom is so jealous, now I don't even know the least thing that is funny to her anymore

I always tell Paula this has gone beyond the fact I didn't have a job but she will never agree with that, she will always tell me that my mother is frustrated with the fact I haven't changed her life like she always I hoped I will

I laid down back on my bed, taking my phone and going back to the movie I was binging before I heard their voices. I haven't called Paula about the job knowing how very busy she is at this moment and I wouldn't text her yet till am sure she is back from work

A sharp knock sounded on my door, removing my earpiece I had to listen again till the knock came. I walk to the door and opened it, Josephine is standing there

''Mom sent me to call you'' she turn back sharply going away

Dreading whatever she has to say, but knowing I do not have any option but to hear it anyways I close my door going to the kitchen where I can hear voices

She is sitting on a chair with all the goodies dad brought scattered round. Josephine and Simon are squatting down beside her waiting for her to share their own portion of the food

She look up and her eyes fell on me, frowning ''so you were waiting for me to call you first, who do you think have the strength to share all this things'' she asked me angrily

''No mom please don't let her share anything, I prefer Saint to sharing, not hers'' Simon complained

''Well you have to go drag Saint from medical school to share this for you then'' she eyes him and then notices Josephine taking some meat that laid beside her. She hit her arm immediately taking a plate and hitting her on her back as she runs away ''come and take anything from here let me see''

I held my laughter as she swore at the both of them and once she notices my facial expression I turn back my face into a frowny way and she remove her eyes standing up

''Since you are jobless, come to my shop in the market today afternoon and do something about how untidy this house is'' she stand leaving the kitchen for me

Stephen leaves too knowing he wouldn't have any share in anything I will be doing, he should call his priced big brother Saint while I remain the sister who wouldn't bring anything to the table
