I sat in a super comfortable chair, enjoying the pleasant fragrance that filled the office. His office always smelled nice and was adorned with many luxurious items. This is to be expected from a wealthy man like him, right? By "wealthy," I mean that he is the owner and CEO of FG Entertainment, has multiple business ventures, and is the richest person in the entire country as well as the third richest in the world.
The only reason he isn't number one is because he donates fifty percent of his income to help those in need, building schools and hospitals in various countries and engaging in other philanthropic efforts.
He has so much wealth that he could live the rest of his life without working and still maintain his current lifestyle while leaving behind a considerable fortune for his descendants. Isn't that admirable? If I were in his position, I wouldn't have to struggle greatly to make money, right? This man inspires me to strive for more in life. Every time I look at him, I feel challenged to realize that I haven't yet reached my goals, but there's still room for improvement, provided I work harder.
I have always looked up to him as my motivation. Sitting in front of him boosts my confidence immensely. It makes me feel like the luckiest person in the world. Although others have spent more time with him, I've known him since I was fourteen, and now at twenty-four, it still feels special to be alone with him, as if I have a unique understanding of our connection. He has been a breakthrough for many K-pop artists and actors, nurturing them just like he has supported my band and several other successful actors.
If I had to summarize, this man knows talent, and he has a knack for discovering it. Who wouldn't want to look up to such a person? At one point, I considered becoming a professional dancer, but after meeting him and having a conversation, I quickly changed my mind.
He is incredibly famous, yet very little is known about his family. I would argue that he is one of the most private individuals in the world. Even we, his artists, know almost nothing about his family-perhaps only his two personal guards, who are always with him, and maybe a maid at his house. In fact, that's another thing I admire about him.
Many celebrities expose their children to media scrutiny, forcing them to live with constant bodyguards because of paparazzi interference. In contrast, his family enjoys a level of privacy that allows them to go about their lives like ordinary people without being recognized. I believe that ensuring their anonymity is the best way to protect them. He goes to great lengths to protect us, too, making sure we are comfortable and that our personal information remains private.
"How are you doing, Evel? It's been quite a while," he finally said, pulling me back to the present. He was right; it had been some time since we last spoke personally. Even though we work under his company, we don't see him often unless it's something significant.
"I'm doing well, sir. It's good to see you," I replied, a bit nervous.
"Before we continue, can I get you something? Coffee, water, or any drink you prefer?" he asked. I anticipated this question but honestly, all I wanted was water.
"Yes, water, please," I replied. I asked for water because I learned that he always opts for it. I have never seen him request anything else. When I mentioned water, he looked at me and smiled. I guess I'm becoming more like him.
"So how's everything? How's your music? I hope you're doing well with your solo song. I want it to be something magnificent, breathtaking-something the audience will love and that won't age, something they won't get enough of. I've spoken to the other three members individually and told them the same: focus on this one. Remember, you're each doing a song alone, not as a group as you're used to. So don't let us down. I'm rooting for you guys." He spoke seriously, and I understood the weight of his words.
This man motivates me more and more with each word he speaks. He inspires me to push myself to produce my best work.
"Yes, sir. I won't let you down, and I'm sure the others won't either. They are focusing really hard, and I believe what everyone has in store is worth the wait."
"I trust you guys... and I'm sure you won't let me down.....I've had so much confidence in you, and your group has proven to me that I was right about you ten years ago... I would bet on you guys over and over again, and I believe in each one of you as my sons...," He chuckled. You could feel the proudness in his voice as he spoke.
I nodded; he could call us his sons because he had been with us since ten years ago and had taken the role of bringing us up and nurturing us the men we are today, even more like a parent than a boss. I'm sure everyone else in the band felt the same way. We had sold out Arena's and made brand deals, each of us securing a position as the global brand ambassador for influential and rich companies in the whole world, all thanks to this man. He suddenly looked at the CCTV camera screen.
" Come in..." he said and checked his watch. A young woman comes in with two bottles of water and two glasses on a tray and then places them on the table.
She takes the two glasses and places each next to me and to Mr. Chin, and then next to it a bottle of water. All this time Mr. Chin kept on staring at the lady. I guess she was in her mid-thirties. Once she was done, she picked the tray ready to go.
"Wait a minute..." Mr. Chin said, and the lady looked at him extremely tense.
"Use the chance while you can... I know if I was not here you would have asked for a picture already.... take one and make it quick..."
