Chapter 5 Serving High-end Customers Only

"No, you don't have to worry about it. I've already solved it."

Garry hesitated for a moment, then made an excuse. "I just won the lottery and got ten thousand dollars."

"Really? You are so lucky. Congratulations," Shelly sighed and said in a weak voice.

"Thank you. If you encounter any problems in the future, don't hesitate to inform me. I'm just one call away," Garry said sincerely.

He was willing to help her in any way he could because she had been of great help to him.

Shelly was touched when she saw the sincerity on his face.

Now that she had gotten the go-ahead, she wanted to ask for his help. But she swallowed her words immediately.

One thing she didn't want was to be a burden to Garry.

Besides, he couldn't be of any help to her.

"Humph! What can you do for me? Anyway, don't worry about me. Bye!"

Shelly waved at him after speaking with feigned indifference.

Garry couldn't think of another way to convince her now. He could only watch her leave in haste.

His instincts told him that Shelly was hiding something. She had a sad look in her usually cheerful eyes.

Garry was still trying to fathom what could be bothering Shelly when his phone rang.

He whipped it out from his pocket quickly.

His father's sigh came from the other end of the line.

"Son, why did you only withdraw 10,000 from the bank? You're too stingy with your money.

Back then, I bought a Bugatti Veyron worth ten million dollars, and your grandfather scolded him for not buying a more expensive one!"

When Garry heard these words, he was confused.

He already felt bad for having spent ten thousand dollars a day, and yet his father called him stingy

"Dad, even though we have money, we can't spend it like water!" Garry said helplessly.

After a long time of silence, his father yelled angrily,

"Garry, your previous poor life has made you develop the bad habit of stinginess.

You have to spend $10 million within a week, and you have to give me the invoices!

Otherwise, I will cut all ties with you!"

After saying that, his father hung up the phone.

Garry stared at the phone with mixed feelings, "How am I going to spend $10 million in a week?"

If he failed, his father would cut all ties with him.

What kind of odd family was this?

At this moment, Garry had mixed feelings and didn't know to describe them.

"Forget it. I'll buy a house first. It will cost me a lot of money, and I'll get an invoice."

After what happened with his roommates, Garry didn't want to live in the dorm room with them anymore.

Those snobbish people despised the poor and loved the rich.

Garry disliked such people, and he didn't want to be around them anymore.

It was as if one more night with them would make him incurably sick.

He decided to move out now that he could afford to.

Garry hailed a cab and went to a real estate agency near the school.

The taxi stopped in front of the real estate company and Garry got out.

When he opened the door, a saleswoman in a tight skirt and black silk stockings got up, about to greet him with a smile.

But when she saw that it was just a young boy dressed very ordinarily, she sat right back down, immediately losing interest.

All the other elite salespeople in the office were also in low spirits.

They were experienced and had sharp eyes so they could right away discern who was rich and who was poor at just a glance.

For a moment there, no one walked up to Garry and introduced themselves.

He just stood there, feeling awkward.

The manager frowned, seeing all the salespeople neglect to help this poor boy.

Even though he knew that the young man in front of him might be poor, he still wanted his employees to be polite no matter what.

"Caitlin Barker!" he said in a loud voice to the saleswoman who had just gotten up.

"Okay, I know."

Caitlin had no other choice but to stand up again and make her way up to Garry with a fake and insincere smile plastered all over her face.

"Sir, could you let me know if you want to buy a house or rent an apartment?"

"I want to buy a house," Garry said in a firm voice.

As soon as the words fell, the eyes of the people around them all turned to Garry.

Their eyes were full of doubt and disdain.

"He looks like a poor student. Can he afford to buy a house?"

"I think this person is just here to hang out. At the end of the walk, he'll say he is not satisfied with all the houses!"
