Chapter 4 Be the bodyguard

Felix was standing in front of the mansion dressed properly as he took in a deep breath. This was it. He had to do this for the sake of his mother.

He walked closer to the gates as the guards went on a protective stance as they asked him.

"Who are you and what are you doing here? Who are you looking for? This isn't public property where you can come in anyhow you like." One of the guards said as Felix raised his hands to prove that he wasn't there to harm them and said,

"I was sent here by Mr. Blaq. He said he required my services. My name is Felix Marshalls."

"Oh, I remember you now. Of course, we were informed. He is waiting for you. You may go in."

"Thank you," Felix said happily as one of the guards took him inside and led him to the main parlor. He could hear some voices coming out from there as the guard announced his presence. Soon he was standing in front of the beaming man Blaq who nodded his head in silent approval.

"Punctual also! These are all the qualities of a good bodyguard. I know that you will do your job well, although there has been a slight change. "

Felix's heart almost fell out of his chest when he heard that something had changed. Was he already replaced by a better bodyguard that has a degree? He didn't understand what he meant by slight change. And he was trying to control his behavior or else he would have thrown himself at Blaq's feet begging him not to take the job away from him.

"You won't be taking care of me but you will be taking care of my stepdaughter Myra. She is quite stubborn headed but I trust that won't be an issue to you, will it?" He asked as Felix sighed out of relief and shook his head. Guess there was nothing to worry about in the first place.

"That won't be a problem sire. I understand what is needed from me. I will keep her safe, I promise you." He said as Blaq nodded his head.

"In that case, wait here while I bring her to you. She would want to see who her bodyguard is after all. wait here." Saying this, the man stood up and left the room leaving Felix behind who was busy glancing at the whole place.

His phone buzzed and he checked his pocket and brought it out. Seeing the caller ID he smiled as he picked it up and said,

"Mum, you know that you are supposed to be resting instead of worrying about me, I am fine." He laughed a bit as his mum melodic voice resonated in his ears.

"How can I not worry when my son is faced with a huge debt. I know you are thinking of where to get the money for my treatment and I feel sad. Let's forget the treatment altogether." She said as Felix shook his head.

"I already found a job mum, its paying high enough, and I have already made part payment to the doctors. Don't bother about a thing....." He was caught short as he felt someone slam into him and his attention was immediately divided and he left his phone to fall while he grabbed the damsel and prevented her from reaching the ground, his fingers dangerously close to her bra hook. With just a brush and they would be off and his eyes would feast on those juicy nipples. He was forced out of his perverted thoughts as he felt someone slapping him with force which was more than enough to pull his mind away from those thoughts.

"Who do you think you are touching me without my permission. Let go of me this instant. Don't you know the gravity of touching me, I will let my step father behead you for your insolence ." He said as he let her go and she stood on her own.

Felix frowned at this behaviour. He hated women who acted pompous just because they were rich and often looked down on the poor ones. He knew that it was because he was of a low status, that was why she had attempted to hit him in the first place. If not she would not have dared touch him.

Myra was still hurling insults at him and he couldn't bear to hear them anyone so he did the next thing that came to mind without minding the consequences. He held her arms and pinned her to the wall holding her tight. Myra gasped as she tried to remove herself from his tight grip but she had an small body frame that contrast greatly with his and she was feeble.

"Let go of me this instant." She snarled at him as Felix tightened the grip on her hands and said in a low voice.

"You shouldn't act like a spoilt child to strangers you do not know, especially when they are in charge of you and making sure that you live. " He was already certain that this was the one that Blaq had told him that he was going to look after. It seemed like Blaq hadn't seen his daughter and she ran into him accidentally so he didn't tell her that he was her bodyguard. It was easier and better if Blaq did the explanation himself.

"Leave me alone now!" She said again struggling hard as Felix replied calmly,

"First apologize to me and I will let you go. I am sure that you are familiar with that word despite how spoilt you appear to be." Myra eyes widened when she saw the insult imbedded in his statement. She struggled hard but she wasn't going to set free if she persisted and argued with him so she bit her lips hard before she croaked out the word.

"Sorry, now let me go." Felix wanted her to mean it but decided against pushing his luck. For all he know, Myra might refuse to accept him as her bodyguard and would get rid of him so he let her go.

She glared at him angrily as he walked back to where his phone was laying on the ground and picked it up.
