Chapter 5 Wrecked Havoc

Toni ran as fast as he could and grabbed her arm.

"I am sorry Lilith, I am sincerely sorry please forgive me" he apologized sincerely and let her hit him repeatedly as he hugged her close.

"I know how much you hate me mentioning your family situation and I still did, I am a jerk and I deserve any punishment you will give to me Lilith I am sorry" he stroked her hair.

"I won't bring up my feeling for you ever again but that doesn't mean I will stop loving you, it will take ages Lilith so I won't give up, I will ask you out again when I feel you are better so please don't cut me off" he pleaded and felt Lilith hand dropping by her side.

"You are wasting your time Toni, I am not sure I will ever date you, Toni"

"You won't know the future Lilith" he tried to smile but couldn't because he was hurt and that was the truth.

"Wipe your tears and show me your pretty face Lilith" he cajoled her.

"Stop that Toni" she frowned and sat down on the slab.

"It is dirty, your clothes will stain Lilith" Toni frowned at her.

"Let me be Toni, I am tired"

"Okay, then I will let your royal Highness be" he smiled at her and watched her roll her eyes at him.

"Toni love," she heard the school Belle call out to him and walked closer to sit in their midst.

"Hi, Vera" Lilith greeted but she was treated as air.

"Toni, I called but you didn't pick up my calls, you told me you will take me out during the weekend, I wasn't happy with your attitude," she said pouting her lips.

Vera's father was a high-placed politician who sponsored most of the school projects and parties so she was well respected by the school teachers and students. She was also a beauty and had a crush on Toni who had a crush on her(lilith) it was such a weird situation.

"Vera, I was busy" Toni replied and looked at Lilith pleading for her to help him but to his dismay, she stood up, walked away and left them alone.

"That cruel girl," he said, gnashing his teeth and watching her walk away.

"Even her footsteps look beautiful to him" he sighed and smiled. Vera was pissed off at him for staring at Lilith who was walking away for so long.

"Vera, I have classes to attend please let me go," he said as he pulled his hands which were intertwined with hers.

"Then, I will come along with you" Vera spoke out suddenly,

"Don't come along with me Vera" Toni said angrily and watched as Vera flinched at how loud he shouted.

"I am sorry Vera I didn't mean to" he apologized sincerely.

"Is it her?" She asked

"Who?"

"Lilith" she replied

"What about her?"

"Is she the one you love?"

"She is a friend Vera, nothing more"

"I hope she is just a friend and she remains just a friend to you Toni because if I find out you love her I will make her life worse".

"How dare you think of doing that? She is just a friend Vera and one of the sweetest souls you will ever know".

" I hope so because all it will take is a call to my dad insisting he calls her father and let him know the reason he won't get this new contract he has been aiming for is because of his daughter and watch as her life get more intriguing, I know all that she is passing through Toni don't try my patient"

"Were you always this cruel Vera?" Toni asked, squinting his eyes.

"You never know the extent I am ready to go for you Toni so do not try me," she said as she rearranged the collar of his shirt and walked away.

Toni was amazed at how cruel Vera sounded, the last thing he wanted at this moment was to make things worse than it already was for Lilith so he had to keep whatsoever feelings he had for her aside for now.

He sighed and walked away.

"Lilith" Lilith continued walking because she knew who they were.

Suddenly she felt her hair being pulled backward and turned sharply.

"You stop when you are being called, who do you think you are? Huh?"

"A stupid entity claiming beauty" Another added.

"What is my offense this time?" She asked calmly.

"You should know what it is" she heard gasps and knew who it was. VERA and her little bunnies.

"I don't and can you tell your little bunnies to stop pulling at my hair?" She answered back calmly glaring at her.

"They won't stop, Lilith"

"Okay then".

She saw people recording and said loudly.

"How low could a politician's daughter get because of a man who doesn't want her? If he can't take care of his family and train them properly what guarantee do we have that he will do well in the position he is in right now?" She said loudly and chuckled as Vera turned to look at everyone.

She knew how badly criticized her father would be when this video got leaked so she ordered her bunnies to stop pulling at her hair.

"Two can play the game Vera, you are just a tiny ball to me which I can squash at any moment, do not dare me, I don't love Toni and never will so get it up your thick skull" she glared at her picked up her bag and the Thermo flask then walk away.

When she entered her lecture hall she saw everyone turn in her direction, she walked calmly to her seat and plugged in her earpiece.

She felt someone tap her shoulder and saw Toni who she knew came to apologize, he must have heard what happened which she was sure had spread like wildfire already around the school.

"I am sorry Lilith, I truly am" he apologized and walked away.

She wasn't bothered about what happened as she knew she did nothing wrong but unknowingly to her she had wreaked havoc.

"Welcome back master" Josephine greeted as Garry walked in, in haste

"Where is Lilith?" He requested in anger.

"She is not back yet master," Josephine replied and walked out to inform her madam.

Lidia walked in and frowned, seeing Garry angry.

"What is it, Garry?" She requested.

"Do not call my name Lidia by the way, where is that useless daughter of yours?" He asked

"I don't have a useless daughter Garry"

"Don't try me Lidia you know who I am asking for"

"She is not back yet". Lidia answered.

"Okay, then I will wait here for her," he said as he sat down on the couch.

"At least tell me what is the problem Garry" she persuaded

"Tell you why? What solution will it bring? Will it rectify the problem?" He asked

"At the very least I will be able to know what is wrong"

"Do not talk to me woman, you started all of this so let me be for now"

Lidia gulped and watched in silence as Garry kept spitting words in anger, she hadn't seen him like this before and hoped he would act reasonably when Lilith was here, she could only pray it doesn't get out of hand.

"Mum, I am back, good afternoon" she greeted cheerfully.

"Where are you coming from, young lady?" Garry asked getting up

"Obviously, I just came back from school, where else will I be?" She asked, puzzled.

"And what happened in school today?" He asked while walking closer to her.

Lidia stood up and shielded her daughter instantly from Garry's wrath.

"Get out of my way Lidia" he warned

"Garry, No I won't" Lidia replied standing her ground.

"Okay then since that is what you want, I will do it to you." Garry walked closer and held her by the throat and watched as her eyes turned red and she hit his hands trying to breathe.

"Mum" Lilith screamed out.

She rushed forward and bit her father hard on his hand and soon he pushed her to the floor walking closer to Lilith.

"Lilith, runs," Lidia said while trying to catch her breath.

"I can't leave you mother" she approached her mother and tried pulling her up.

Garry held her and slapped her on her cheek, it seemed hell was let loose at that moment because everyone was quiet trying to register what just happened as he hadn't raised a hand on her before no matter how angry he was at her.

Lilith tried to register what just happened as she felt her jaw sting and blood drip from the corner of her mouth staining the white tiles which had just been cleaned by the maids.

Lidia stood up and stomped closely to Garry who couldn't still believe he had hit Lilith, he regretted his actions but couldn't show it so he had to man up to it.

"How could you Garry? How could you lift your finger on my child? Have you forgotten who made you who you are today? Who do you think you are?" Lidia shouted at Garry poking at his chest.

The timid woman was gone and in place of it was a tigress who was furious.

"How could you be so stupid to take action without hearing her side of the story? I allowed you to touch me but not my daughter so how could you lift your filthy hands on her? You don't like her but you could have done better Garry I am disappointed in you" she deadpanned.

"Your useless daughter here made me lose one of the most important contracts I have been pursuing for months, do not try to guilt trip me, Lidia, because it will not work" he added sternly.

"How could you dad?"Lilith said with tears dripping from her eyes.

"How could you choke mum till she was almost breathless and hit me when I was not in the wrong?"

"You could have simply asked and we will settle the matter amicably. Am I that worthless to you?" Lilith asked.

"Yes, you are, I watched that video, and even if she was in the wrong you could have endured it. What are a few fallen hairs to the contract I will get? Huh? You are selfish Lilith I knew about it since but I confirmed it with your recent actions" Garry informed.

Lilith burst into tears and said, "I have been bullied by her for years dad, I didn't speak up, you belittle me at home, she does in school, you call me worthless at home, she calls me worthless in school, you call me good for nothing at home she does the same thing in school, I don't fight back and the only time I tried fighting back you rushed home just to choke my mother and slap me, how could you? How could you be so unconcerned about me? How could you still call yourself my father after all you have done to me? What right do you have?" Lilith asked, crying.

"You disgust me, Garry, you promised never to hit my child no matter how hard it gets, you promised me never to let her get hurt, you know the terms I was given by my family before I left the house and you know how much I have stuck with you through all these years still yet you break the only promise you gave me that you won't break, my daughter was being bullied and I didn't know anything about it and I call myself a mother, am I even fit to be one?" Lidia cried out.

"You both will never know how much this contract meant to me. It was meant to take me to the sky, I had made acquaintance with a lot of politicians who had assured me. I will get it and you go and mess it all up because of what? A mere slap?" Garry said, still fuming in anger.

"We are done Garry, You cease to be husband from this moment and we are just strangers living together until I leave this place which will be soon, I will leave after contacting my family and letting them know about all that I have been going through, you better get prepared to pass through hell, send the divorce papers I will be waiting for them."

She turned to Lilith who had a disappointed look on her face and dragged her with her to the stairs saying

"Lilith let's go and get your wound treated" they walked away leaving Garry standing there.
